I sometimes ban him because I just cannot run the risk of my mid feeding him like crazy.
At least with LB, people don't know how to make her work well.

The reason everyone bans him is because there is always that 1 idiot on you team who doesn't know how to deal with him and therefore if he isn't banned that 1 guy will complain all game and feed -__-. Also another reason he is banned is because he is hard to gank/kill if you aren't corrdinated which in solo queue usually you aren't.

As a kassadin player in normal,I think Kass can be shut down early.
Just always gank mid pre-6,and by always i mean a lot.
If you managed to kill kass twice pre-6 then i think you'll have a good time.
However if your jungler doesn't care and let kass farm.
Your mid is most likely to have a bad time.

I think Kass has a good amount of potential in the hands of a strong player with a coordinated team. You have to guarantee he won't be shut down early game though, so that means you generally need to see their AP mid first.
He's definitely not OP and I wouldn't consider him ban-worthy in most levels of soloqueue. You might ban him situationally if he'd ruin your team comp somehow, but definitely not worth a permaban.

ALso, yes it's funny actually. Because Lux does or
can pose a challenge in mid vs Kassadin. I hate
going against Lux myself. She's so annoying.
I doubt her shield negates everything though, not
if you focus Null Sphere, his Q.
And hahaha PsiGuard. It's nice to know you find
it amusing. I just like to keep my sentences shorter
than most, as I think it makes it more easy on the
eyes of the readers in the long-run. Since the
eyes don't have to move so much, as compared to
when you just keep writing and let it auto-linebreak.
But perhaps, perhaps I should begin rhyming. That
would add some class to my little poems eh! Hahaha.
