Supports carry their team through making decisions and insane map awareness.
if a support can time blue, red, dragon, summoner spells, baron, ward timers, knows when to engage and disengage, knows how to play in teamfights and can get their adc fed, they've basically won the game. Pick up every single dragon with your adc, try to pick up their blue every time after 1st blue or get a kill on jungle, get your adc fed off bot lane and deny theirs cs, peel for your adc in teamfights and have really good map awareness, and that's probably gg. A support imo is the most advanced lane besides maybe the jungle since you have to at least partially focus on at least 4 places at once (your lane, mid lane, dragon/both jungles) and still know where everyone on the map is. It takes a **** load of concentration to do all that.

I kept pinking their jungle which allowed for even more picks that they had no idea were happening until they facechecked the ****. I was going with 4-5 pinks at almost all times lategame simply for denying them vision.
Carrying with support.
Ty MM and Blood for the sigs :3 | Rammus is comming back - heard it here first!

Guys, if you want to continue this discussion, please use PMs, don't further derail this ranked thread.
Also, Pølse, starting the discussion by saying "only stupid people think that it's impossible to carry with a support" is rude and uncalled for.

I indeed think supports can carry, but not in form of damage as people explained :3
I think explanation is needed about how I end up here is needed.
I had the 1538 ELO highest and current ELO around 1450. I got placed in Silver Division I.
First games in the division are the ones played with Nunu - Maokai.
I have basically won almost every single game with only 2 losses.
The games posted recently are all up to date.
Currently; Playing Solo Que only with
Taric and
Draven, sometimes duo with
Nunu & Willump +
Vayne with Finpure.
I'm at Gold V with 58 league points.
I'm also playing 3v3 Ranked at 1800 ELO
and 5v5 ranked, which we started yesterday and currently stands at 3 wins.

2 more 5v5 ranked team games;
1-1-18
Taric WON
1-6-14
Nunu & Willump LOST
4-1 currently and we got placed in Silver V :/
Climbing up will be quite easy tough.

Sorry, no you're not. LoLKing score simply spits out a random number for each division and league points. I was plat in 3s last season and the barrier was 1650. They barely moved barriers, it was all display. As gold 1 in 3s you are around a 1600 team (which surprises me since you almost have as many losses as you do wins, I assume it was ~1500 last season?).
Anyways, GL HF on your journey! ^_^

? lks is hardly random and is arguably better than elo at showing what skill level a person is at when they're diamond division 3 or something. i realize it's not elo, but it might as well be since we cant see elo.
No it isn't, trust me. I've done the math. I'm getting around 30 LP a game so it's increasing my lolking score by like 30 a win even though Elo only goes up like 12 a game. It just puts a set value for each division even if it isn't accurate. It's a good estimate but it's off. New Diamond is ~2050 but it says it's 2200 when you are diamond 5 regardless. When the system came out, all the people in diamond got reset to plat 1 and had to work their way up, but people in the plat 1 region were also placed in plat 1. Their hidden Elo is much lower than the people reset to plat 1, which is why they quickly got up due to their high gains and low losses. You Elo can vary a lot even if you are in the same division. When I was plat 5 I was higher in pick order than a plat 3 because I was on a winspree and my Elo got higher than it needed to be for the division, which is why I also ended up skipping divisions and will again from Plat 3 to 1 based on my gains and losses. It literally just puts a visual number to the division.
Right now it says my lolking score is ~2050, but my hidden Elo in actuality is somewhere around 1900-1950 (I've been somewhat tracking it by win/loss since the new system came out).
How would it be better than Elo when it is an approximation trying to mimic Elo? lol?

Obviously you can't 1v5 as a support, but
- YOU are the force that lets the AD-carry AA throughout a teamfight
- YOU are the one responsible for global map awareness winning the game in a clutch moment
- YOU are the one getting your ad-carry fed in the lane
- YOU are the one who roamed mid and snowballed that lane
- YOU hit the perfect engage
- YOU denied the enemy vision with your pinks allowing for free dragons and picks.
Saying you can't carry as a support is like saying you can't carry as amumu. You can't singlehandedly catch someone out and kill them by yourself, but through map pressence, roaming and hitting great engages you can effectively carry a game. Just because YOU suck at supporting and don't know how to influent the game through the role of a support doesn't mean that the support doesn't win games, it just means YOU don't know how to do it.
You're completely 100% correct that I suck at supporting, but it's not just like that that I can tell you can't carry with support. I can tell because over the course of the 614 ranked games I've played over the course of a year and a half of playing LoL, and the 2k normal games, I have probably seen 3 supports carry their teams. Each time it was Lux, who's actually an AP carry in disguise. I honestly cannot imagine any supports except for Zyra, Lux, and unconventional supports such as Xin and Lee, carrying a game.
l0l, true dat. His ult can be great in team-fights if you pull it off to perfection though, I'll give him that.
