I also have no problem with rushing it. It's just that BT does more damage until late game, I didn't feel the need for the self-peel, as I wasn't really that threatened, and they weren't building that much health. Even after PD, I was still only critting for like 200 damage on people, and that would have been much less with BotRK. I could have built BotRK with no problem, I just thought BT would be more useful. EDIT: Looked over that guide, nothing too surprising there. I use all of those tricks, although the guide could have more general mechanics in there. I don't agree too much with his counters section though.[/quote]

Second, I felt I had enough peel that game, so I skipped Blade. Finally, I find IE > PD Takes way too long to build, while BT has much higher sustained damage than IE before building PD. I'm not saying those builds are bad, if I'm extremely fed I'll sometimes take my [[B. F. Sword]] and turn it into an IE. It's just that most of the time (even when I'm farming well), those builds require too much gold. [spoiler=Quick Math] [[Berserker's Greaves]] + [[Infinity Edge]] + [[Phantom Dancer]] = 7500 gold (or 8300 gold if you add [[Vampiric Scepter]]) [[Berserker's Greaves]] + [[Blade of the Ruined King]] + [[Bloodthirster]] = 7300 gold [[Berserker's Greaves]] + [[Bloodthirster]] + [[Phantom Dancer]] = 6900 All champions gain 16 gold per 10 seconds. I'm going to assume a CS of about 130~ at 20 minutes, because that is pretty close to my average at that point. 1920 gold (natural gold gain) + 3510 gold (Assuming 27 gold per CS) + 600 gold (If I get a minimum of two kills) + 475 gold (at start) = 6505 gold by 20 minutes. That doesn't even take into account [[Health Potion]]s, or other consumables or [[Doran's Blade]]s. Now, often I am above that much CS by that time, or I have more kills, or we could look at later in the game for more gold. Granted, dragons and towers help. It still doesn't get rid of the fact that IE > PD, while being a strong transition into late game, and BotRK > BT, while being strong mid game, and both pretty expensive, and don't fit well with how I like to play. It's just my personal preference for items that provide damage, AS, and survivability.[/quote]
