How do you feel about dividing tournaments based on tier?
to be honest, I pretty much won't play in a tournament because I know one diamond team is just going to stomp on everyone who isn't diamond.
The skill level between diamond and gold players is large enough, let alone people with Silver MMR, so I'd support a split.

I think the main problem with separating ChallengerDiamond and PlatGoldSilverBronze is that there simply aren't enough teams to make up a tournament. Maybe if it it was ChallengerDiamondPlat but even then what discouragement is there for a higher level team from smurfing on a lower level tournament?

I find it interesting that MobaFire has taken this direction, but I believe it's the appropriate thing to do. No one wants to face a team they know they could never ever beat. Challenger tier is pretty much unbeatable. Especially by regular MobaFire members like myself.

Pretty much. Also, isn't a tournament about deciding who is better? Why would you purposely exclude better people from it?

We've recently made some changes to the MOBAFire tournament rules that disallows Challenger tier players from participating in our games.
We were curious if there would be any interest in a divided tournament system where say, Unranked to Platinum players could participate in one tournament and Diamond and Challenger players could participate in another. I suppose whoever WANTED to play in the Diamond and Challenger tournament could, but the point would be to allow Platinum and below tier players a chance to win a tournament and play against others closer to their skill level.
Our tournaments are meant for amateurs, and we find that Challenger players are at a weird spot between being pro and amateur. We are considering tournaments to allow higher skilled players a venue to compete as well, but don't want this to discourage lower MMR teams.
What do you guys think? Please vote in the poll or list your own opinion.
