I usually play with any champion in aram (except for Nasus or those in free rotation that I have never tried out before), but I've noticed recently that I'm having A LOT of trouble playing Annie in aram.

I seem to be extremely squishy, and I die super fast... Getting in range to cast a spell is a nightmare.

I do decently well with almost every other mage, but I just can't figure out how to play Annie in aram.

Can someone suggest me a good build and some tips for playing Annie in aram? Also, should I keep the normal APC masteries? Or should I use different ones in this case?

Stun, call yogi and gtfo

Rod of Ages, Abyssal Mask, watchamacallit witchcap, Liandry's Torment, etc. Anything that gives you resistances/HP and AP.

^^ Liandrys should be replaced by Hourglass, void staff or something like that, imo. Liandry's kinda sets back annie's insane burst :/

A normal burst build is fine. ARAM Annie isn't anything particularly special and she doesn't need a much different build than SR. I've played her a couple games and went Athene's Unholy Grail and Will of the Ancients for sustain and CDR along with bursty AP items. You probably don't even need those two items though, I just liked being able to keep up my health and mana without relying on health relics.

Rabadon's Deathcap, Zhonya's Hourglass, Void Staff would probably be your core you'd want to finish at some point. You can throw a Deathfire Grasp in there for more single-target damage.

If you'd rather not be bursty and just be really tanky, build Rod of Ages, Rylai's Crystal Scepter and Liandry's Torment. I don't really think that build is necessary though since you can usually carry by nuking 3/5 of the enemy team and then pushing.

All you need to win ARAM games is a semi-competent team and good mechanics.
Thanks to The_Nameless_Bard for the sig!

If Annie finnishes her RoA and Rabadon's fairly early that's basically all she needs to burst down the Adc's and Apc's (assuming it's not diana or something). Annie is actually really strong atm, only lacking some range :/

That's usually the order I get them in if I die a lot.
If all goes well, the first 2/3 items when I die at last.

The first because it adds some HP and mana and the regen when leveling.
These are sorely needed in ARAM.
Rod of Ages because it's a nice item.
Void Staff because its magic pen is just insanely good.
Rabadon's Deathcap for the heavier nuking.

While the lack of range is bad, it doesn't make her a bad champ, it just requires some other tactics.
You can't really use her to initiate.
But she is excellent in stopping enemy initiates.
AoE stun + Summon: Tibbers = failed initiate + easy killing.

I really hated Annie. Tried her in SR and utterly sucked.
Got her a few times in ARAM and I've loved playing her ever since.

She's basically built like kassadin :p

Honestly, mana and health sustain is really important in ARAMs IMO, especially early. Going for an early Chalice and Hextech Revolver, then just rushing some big AP items (like Rabadon's) and upgrading these two later, would probably be a great strategy.
