Trying a new Lux build out at the moment, works very well as a support/mage role, last game 28/8/23

Using:
Trinity Force
Lichbane
Boots of swiftness
Athen's grail
nash's tooth
Rylai's

Very squishy, but extremely fast and huge damage combo.

Works by rooting, basic striking, using her e, then ulting if needed, her basic strike after rooting tends to do more damage than any of her abilities (which is crazy!)

give it a go, remember to always keep your distance and plink plink plink away :)

Trinity Force and Lich Bane don't stack, might just wanna replace Trinity with something that goes better with Lux's whole magic damage abilities, such as Rabadon's Deathcap.

Boots of Swiftness is rather situational, Sorcerer's Shoes is a better choice because all champions have magic resist whether they build it or not, so it will enable you to chew right through it and deal maximum damage.

Nashor's Tooth is more for a champion who deals damage over time and benefits from not only the on-hit effect but also the attack speed it provides, like Teemo or Twisted Fate. Lux is more of a burst champion who wouldn't be able to get full use out of it. Consider swapping it with Deathfire Grasp or Zhonya's Hourglass for more magic power which will increase the impact of your abilities.

Rylai's Crystal Scepter isn't the best choice for Lux either, because her Lucent Singularity already slows, and her Light Binding snares, so the only use of the slow you would be getting is from her ultimate, which is, at best, every 30 seconds. A better option is Liandry's Torment, which still gives you almost the same ability power and tankiness that Rylai's gives you, but you'll get the bonus use of it, because of your Lucent Singularity's slow and Light Binding's snare.

I could list a bunch of other items good for Lux instead of the ones you chose, but I just wanted to offer those for now, along with my 2 cents on your build idea.

^ Completely agreeing with that. Also, Lux's passive Illumination doesn't have an AP ratio, and only scales off your magic penetration. Void Staff and Sorcerer's Shoes are core, with Haunting Guise/ Liandry's Torment being something you could buy, since 1/2 of your spells will give you the improved burn. And also, being a mage, Rabadon's Deathcap is pretty much core too.

Yes. Void staff is incredibly important. Players forget how hard a Negatron Cloak/ Spectre's Cowl can shut down a AP mid during the mid game

The extra magic pen from these items will make your AP build be viable into the late game - in terms of damage

agreeing with what everyone has posted so far though i would love to had either an athene's or a morelominocon for the cooldown reduct and also the mana regen/ap that you get from those items.
