I just finished my first run through killing dominus. I didn't know that i'd start over again, at a higher level. Aside from higher damage and health on creeps, is there anything interesting that I'll get out of playing through PoE on my level 35 character?
If I helped you out, be sure to throw me a +Rep!

I'll keep playing for now becuause I don't consider my build done and want to see how I can develop it and how far it will get me through the game.
I also made a scion character. I wanna do some kind of lifesteal build using spectral throw as a main skill, but I don't think I will get very far because most of the lifegain stuff I've seen so far is flat numbers and not percentage based, so it won't mean much later on.

utopus, theres more monster mods that can be applied at higher levels.
you get different rewards from quests
you also have a penalty to resists and lose xp on death.
you 'play' through the game 3 times, but near the end of the third you get maps and mapmaking, which are more or less preset zones with random monsters. you can craft maps to add different modifiers to the monsters or debuffs to your characters.
they are nearing completion (early 2015) of a 4th act, but have internal (non public) lore guidelines to be able to eventually have up to 9 acts, which will remove the difficulty system. in closed/early open beta they only had the first 2 acts, which required people to play through the game 4 times before maps. eventually they added act 3 up to piety, and then the sceptre of god and dominus, and the sion, were added at the official 1.0 launch.

Oh cool, they're adding in another act? Up to 9? That's awesome :D How will that remove the difficulty system though?
how i envision it to go is that once (take several years) they have say 9 acts that once you complete the first 3 then you have the 'penalties' of being in cruel difficulty. then after beating 6 you are treated as being in merciless, it depends on how the levelling flow really.
originally as i said when it was only the first 2 acts, they had 4 difficulties.
normal - no penalties
cruel - -20% to all resists, 5% xp loss on death
ruthless - -40% to all resists, (i sadly dont know the xp loss)
merciless - -60% to all resists, 10% xp loss on death.
with the addition of act 3, each 'difficulty' was essentially 50% bigger, which is why they dropped ruthless instead of raising level cap and scaling etc.
its not really known how 4th act will affect the balance of difficulties.

yeah people probably not pvp until the race/tourney.
i'm really liking bloodlines, it might not be as unique as invasion or beyond, but its far more balanced. can't say anything about torment, but i'm hoping they'll add bloodlines in as a regular feature like nemesis.
