Newbies Quest Pt.1

Newbie Quest, Pt. 1

So. This is my first time playing, ANYTHING like LoL. I was a huge counterstrike player (Summer CPL 2004 anyone?) I played nothing but FPS. My friend DeviMachina turned me on to trying this. Man, am I glad he did.

I'm level 7 already, in a few days, I'm in love with Amumu.

More to come.

First Post Story Time!

Tuesday December 20, 2011 9:47 P.M.-

"First blog post eh? Well then! Let us start with joyous tales!"

Hello, and welcome blog reader. I am Paul, "P.J.", or better known as Bodacious27. If you have not heard of me, I am a nobody in the LoL community, just someone who finds great fun in this great game of strategy. (Or for most Tryndamere players, an intense right click session) I kid the Tryndamere players. But in all seriousness, I would love to have a hearty introduction to this Mobafire Blog. So here we go.

Much farther back in my career of League of Legends, I reached level 30! This was no big deal seeing as my friends, all of which are Asian, were level 30 a long time ago. I was fairly new to the game and so I was not aware of how intense the Ranked scene of League of Legends was, and how hard people would try to win.

Before I continue I would like to point something out. I am a decent player at LoL. However, I like to have fun and goof around, which does not lead to great stat…

Kassadin

Man oh man. I've tried Kassadin a few times. I'm just not doing so well with him. For some reason he is very difficult for me to play. His early game is SO BAD. I'd love to get better with him. But I've seen so many different strategies that I have no idea what would be right for a beginner on Kass. I remember one person recommended getting tear on him and using that one skill that charges up his blade a bunch to get mana built up quickly. But is that a waste of time? Should I just go straight for dcap? O__o

I'm so great with almost every champ, but this one is just difficult for me. I was wondering, do champs seem hard to you guys for a little bit and then all of a sudden they just "click" with you and you finally get how you're supposed to combo and such? It'd be nice to know that others are like this too. Like when I was new with Akali, I was SO BAD. I thought she was so difficult and I was like SCREW THIS.

But later after a few more tries I finally got it and started pwning. I've…

Life Leveling: Teamwork

One of the easiest lessons to learn from League of Legends is the importance of teamwork and reliance on your team. This is seen in the professional workplace, especially multi-disciplinary fields, and is a very important concept. Working as a team between people you don’t know is critical to advancing yourself in life and in your career, and those same concepts are seen on the fields of justice.

On my last blog entry, I mentioned how one of my college professors gave a lecture on teamwork and synergy. While he wasn’t explicitly talking about League of Legends, many of the terms, concepts and ideals paralleled the League. He went over how a team needs to synergize, become greater than the sum of the parts and how there should never be someone carrying the team in order to succeed. After further research into the subject, I have come across this:

Goals for the New Year

Evening MobaFire. At the end of every year there is that feeling that time has been lost; you didn't do everything you wanted to do, some things or people got away from you and perhaps you're not quite happy about your accomplishments this year. That's kinda like how I feel right now. I made some ****ty decisions, but the point is, I know they were ****ty.

/// This blog is about my New Year Resolutions and how I plan to achieve them. In the comment section, perhaps you could share your own NYRs :)

Resolution One: Make a new friend every week. This may not seem to be important to some of you, but to me, friends are a very important aspect of my life. Over the last few months, I have made some seriously awesome friends (Wayne, Nick, Joes and Creamy amongst them) and maintained previous friendships. However, I lack "in real life" friends, mainly due to university ending for the year and lounging around in my apartment in the months that follow.

How can this be achieved?

Kind of Shocked

I had no idea several people would end up reading my blog on here. I was pretty shocked to see comments and stuff. lol I thought that was a personal section of the site. xD

I have to admit though, I'd probably be a lot more positive if it weren't for me bouncing around on depression and anxiety meds lately. I'm currently having counseling and trying to find the right meds. So yeah, I've been kinda down lately. I think the biggest factor is that my case worker screwed up some of my paperwork. Long story short, it messed up my food stamps and all kinds of things, and now we've been eating nothing but ramen and macaroni all month. We don't have enough to get anyone presents. But presents aren't the most important thing to us. I guess one thing I wanted to look forward to, was making a Christmas dinner. I knew we weren't going to have much this month, but I thought we'd at least be able to enjoy a nice dinner together.

Goodness sakes I sound like miss gloom n' doom. I'm really not like t…

Trundle getting Fed= Losing?

For the last couple of games i have bought and been using trundle. Every single game i have gotten amazing scores 15 4 and 6, 19 0 2, etc. Every game thus far i have been losing. I have no idea why, is it because I am getting fed as Trundle. My teammates don't usually seem to be bad, but still i scrap with a loss. Can anyone tell me why?

First Blood... DOUBLE KILL!

Finally after like a week I played a good game! Took long enough. I thought I would have lots good games like always but when I actually needed good games, they stopped happening.

I bought Vayne with some RP I got from early Christmas. I needed a good AD ranged carry to even out my "champions I can play well" lineup. I got my good friend to play Taric and support me. This is the story of my first real game as

Life Leveling: Just a Game

Everyone who plays a video game has heard the expression “it’s just a game.” Well, as an avid gamer, I find that phrase to be insulting and far from the truth. This mentality keeps people from achieving anything in life, including in video games. This expression is usually not alone, either. When trying to explain that you take this game seriously, there is always the person who says “gaming is a waste of time!” or “why don’t you do something more constructive with your time?” Combined, a barrier is created between video games and life, and that detracts from what you can learn from a game.

Video games are one of the only things that have the branding of “it’s just a game.” For some reason it is ok to be mad about a football game, screaming at the television when your team doesn’t do well. Knowing the statistics on all the teams in your division and watching a day of sports games is acceptable. Why don’t people at the bar just tell each other “It’…
