Personal Thoughts: DOTA 2 and League

Hey there MOBA Fire, Firbane here. You know, as of recently I've started thinking a little bit about DOTA 2 and League of Legends, as I've come to a small impasse. Let me preface this by saying the following; a good portion of my friends play League of Legends, I prefer League of Legends, and I've started on League of Legends, so a lot of what I'm going to say is coming from the opinion of a long time League fan.

So, now that that's out of the way, let's get into where this impasse has come from. I've a smaller group of friends that play DOTA 2, one of them very...I wouldn't say religiously but he is very much into the game. One of the things that is asked of me is to come onto DOTA 2 and play with that smaller group of friends, either making a fool of myself or doing quite well. I have my qualms with the game and have always been fronted with the into-it friend with "but this game is so much better than League."

Yeah, right, I want to believe you man, but when you play a couple…

Bronze 55554 vs Bronze 55444

Ban&Pick
In short terms: Bad start. Slot 5 wanted to have top. Slot 4 answered "You are last".
This grumpyness continued even though slot 5 took Jax for top and slot 4 took Talon for mid.

The game
I played Thresh and it went not bad. My adc was Jinx and our lane opponents were Sivir and Malphite.
We had some fair trades and Jinx could get some kills. Toplane did'nt work well and Jax lost first tower against Fiora at 10 Minutes.
Flaming started and at 17:00 Talon disconnected and never came back. We could resist hoping he would come back until 28 minutes, then decided to surrender.

Debriefing
Personally a good game but lost through flaming and afk.

KDA Score 1/7/4
Support Score: Placed 13 wards (1/3 of whole team)

Status: Bronze V - Position 12(-7) / 62LP(-20)

The top 5 reasons to play Vladimir!

Alright so it's been a little while since I wrote a blog but I figured I should write one due to me really liking a certain champion who is underplayed. You guys already know that the champ is indeed
Vladimir the Crimson Reaper. This guy is honestly one of my favorite champions ever and for a few reasons that I will list below.

1: Vlad has amazing sustain, his Q is great for sustaining yourself in lane which means you won't be super reliant on potions for health, and can often stay in lane longer than any other champion in the game.

2: Vlad also has a wide variety of starting item options. He can start with an Amplifying Tome, Boots, Doran's Ring or Shield, and even Ruby Crystal! The Ring may not be the greatest choice due to Vlad not using the passive, but HP and AP goes well with your passive, speaking of...

3: Vladimir gains Health for buying AP, and AP for buying Health, however it doesn't stack with itself (otherwise you would have infinite AP/HP). This makes Vlad naturally tan…

Thoughts on Patch 5.7

Greetings and salutations summoners! Patch 5.7 came out a little sooner than I thought it would, so I spent a couple of days letting it simmer before I turned around to give my thoughts on it. So here it is, my thoughts on Patch 5.7. Riot sums it up using the term "change canoe," and yes, they're taking that joke too far, but we still love them except when they nerf our favorite champions.

Skins
  • Omega Squad Teemo - Teemo just got hit with his first Legendary skin, and as much as I hate the furry little monster, this skin seems very terrifying. As fan theory has passed before, it seems like this skin is based on a time after the League of Legends during a post-apocalyptic time, where war is now fought until you actually die, and Teemo has...well, gotten very good at said killing and very good at not dying. Basically it tells me Teemo snapped, and his killing half of his cute and cuddly facade has come out full blown, and he won't stop until he sees the world burn. What do I thi

Ban&Pick
I decided to offer my service as support and took Annie. The adc took Graves and we had Rengar in the jungle, Zed in mid and Nidalee in top.
The opponents chose Shen, Jax, Zyra, Jinx and Blitzcrank.

The Game
We had a hard start. The Rocketgrab from Blitzcrank got me more then once. In the first events I had my passive ready to stun him and escape. Our team did not really team up in midgame but the others did, so we where ganked and killed a lot.
I was caught when placing wards. 4 Members of the opponent sat in a brush just to kill me.
Flaming me started right on. Nobody saw all my warding and stunning and preparing the last hits.
It took a lot of time until my team started playing together but it seemed to late.
Luckily we could resist long enough until a member of our opponents went afk.
So we played a little bit longer and until our enemy surrendered.

Debriefing
- the kids think, that the rest of the world must always be perfect. They …

Maybe I'm a jungle tank.

Ban&Pick
I got the slot 1 and could ban all my bad foes like Katarina and Fizz.
I took my favourite jungle tank Nautilus and we had a Teemo support. Unfortuatly I didn't check my Masteries and started with my support setting.

The Game
The opponent Talon from midlane captured my red buff and killed me. He had the rigth idea, what is was doing and my smite was down.
It was a fair game in all time, with all up's and downs. The team reacted good to my dragon an baron notifications and so we got them regularly.
In the late game, our top laner Hecarim was so tanky it was a lot of fun, and the opponent did some really bad moves, so we could kill him easily.

Debriefing
- I must check my tank build for Nautilus and change the order of things

Fair Defeat.
I played Corky on bot and had a very good Leona as support facing a Blitzcrank and a support Morgana.
The rest of the team also worked nice and in early game we got ahead.
Like in the last games the opponent stopped us when we tried to kill inhibitor towers and turned the game around.
I could not work against their combo with Blitzcrank an Yasuo. Yasou kept the enemy team safe from my fire and Blitzcrank pulled me into the heart of the fight, right into yasuos hand and I died often.

My score 6/13/18
Also with 19k damage to champions I was last.

Debriefing
- Dont pick Corky or another main marksman, when there is a yasou.
- Be paitent and stay out of the fights, when enemy could establish shields

Ban&Pick
I had slot 3. Slot 1 ignored the Katarina suggestions and banned Heimerdinger instead.
Guess what: The opponent picked Katarina first.
Slot 5 was crying, that he is slot 5. Slot 1 +2 picked Rammus for jungle and Sivir for adc.
Slot 4 picket Thresh as support so I decided to take top and slot 5 was happy to get mid. Instantly he struggled, what to take against Katarina and chose Lissandra.
The opponents took Katarina, Skarner (jungle), Draven, Nami and Pantheon on top.

Early game
Since we had 3 tanky champions all agreed, that I should go AP instead.
I had my fun by poking Pantheon and could ult him to death in 2 situations.
The enemy Skarner was a problem. He ganked me succesfully twice and I lost my stacks. The ganks of our junger came often to late to have a real impact. But all in all it went good on all lanes.

Mid game
I got some AP and joined the teamfights but Patheon pushed. So I often had to go back into the lane and clean up the…
