Champion Build Guide

[10.3] Jungle Caitlyn, slow but steady

By Rhynos89
About the build
Caitlyn
Chosing Caitlyn as a jungle is NOT optimal!

But you decided to try it out anyway!
So here is a short guide I made with the focus of having Caitlyn as a Jungler.

Runes
Press the attack- Hitting an enemy champion 3 consecutive times makes them vulnerable, dealing bonus damage.
Triumph - Takedowns restore 12% of your missing health and grant an additional 20 gold.
Legend: Alacrity - Takedowns on enemies grant permanent Attack Speed.

Coup de grace - Deal more damage to low health enemy champions.
Absolute Focus - While above 70% health, gain extra adaptive damage.
Waterwalking - Gain MS and AP or AD, adaptive in the river.

Offense - +10% Attack Speed
Flex - +9% Adaptive Force
Defense - +6% Armor

Summoner Spells
Flash and Smite OR Smite and Heal depending on your playstyle.

Abilities
Passive - Caitlyn's next basic attack against enemies rooted by Yordle Snap Trap or Slow icon slowed by 90 Caliber Net has 1300 range and deals 50-100% AD (at levels 1-18) (+ 150% critical strike chance) bonus physical damage, increased to 100% AD + (+ 150% critical strike chance) versus non-champions. Additionally, Caitlyn gains 10% bonus attack speed and her regular basic attacks each generate a stack of Headshot, doubled when attacking from brush, granting her next basic attack the same bonus physical damage at 6 stacks, though this does not benefit from bonus range nor is it consumed on other instances of Headshot.

Q - Piltover Peacemaker - Caitlyn revs up her rifle for 1 second to unleash a penetrating shot which deals 50 / 90 / 130 / 170 / 210 (+1.3 / 1.4 / 1.5 / 1.6 / 1.7 per attack damage) to the first target struck, then widens by 30 units, dealing 60% damage to any additional enemies. Piltover Peacemaker always deals 100% damage to champions revealed by Yordle Snap Trap.

W - Yordle Snap Trap - Caitlyn sets up to 3 / 3 / 4 / 4 / 5 traps which trigger on champions. When sprung, the trap immobilizes the champion for 1.5 seconds and reveals it for 3 seconds. Traps last 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 seconds. Caitlyn can also fire one 1300 range Headshot at trapped targets, dealing 60 / 105 / 150 / 195 / 240 (+0.4 / 0.55 / 0.7 / 0.85 / 1.0 per bonus attack damage) physical damage. Caitlyn can store up to 3 / 3 / 4 / 4 / 5 traps at a time and gains charges every 30 / 24 / 19 / 15 / 12 seconds.

E - 90 Caliber Net - Caitlyn fires a heavy net that slows down her target by 50% for 1 second and deals 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230 (+80% of ability power) magic damage. The recoil knocks Caitlyn back 400 units. Caitlyn can also Headshot netted targets once at 1300 range.

R - Ace in the Hole - Caitlyn takes time to line up the perfect shot, dealing 300 / 525 / 750 (+2.0 per bonus attack damage) physical damage to a single target at a huge range. Enemy champions can intercept the bullet for their ally. It provides vision of the target for the duration.

Ability Priority
Start with E -> Q -> W
Priorities spells in order of R -> Q -> W -> E

The reason for starting with the E ability, so called 90 Caliber Net, is because if you shoot a monster with the net, you can use your auto attack to get a strong shot againt the traped monster. This way you deal more damage at the start of the game.

Early Game
Safe playstyle: Buy the start items -> Red Buff (with help) -> Blue Buff -> Wolf camp -> Crabs.
Agressive playstyle: Buy the start items -> Red Buff (with help) -> Blue Buff -> Gank top/mid.

You do need the 3 health potions in the beginning.
At first back, buy Refillable Potion OR Health Potions

As a jungle, you need vision, make sure you ward every now and then.
Help your teammates out by pinging on the map whenever you are about to engage, never go in without informing your team about it.

REMEMER, YOU ARE SQUISHY, DO NOT OVER EXTEND, EVER.
Try to ask your team to help you with the first monster.
