Why play Kalista mid?
Kalista's dash that comes from her passive gives her a unique ability to dodge skill shots.
Fate's Call makes it easy to tower dive the enemy since you can pull your jg out of the tower's range before they die to tower.

Hail of Blades Allows you to be able to get to a good position with the initial extra attack speed and helps with early lanes. Sudden Impact Scales with her hops. Ravenous Hunter allows for big healing with Rend Coup de Grace Mixed with Rend allows for easier takedowns.

Her hops from her autos give her the ability to dodge skill shots from most mid lane matchups.
