Not Updated For Current Season
This guide has not yet been updated for the current season. Please keep this in mind while reading. You can see the most recently updated guides on the browse guides page
If you have this champion in the opposing team, be aware that you will have a tough game against him.If you want to beat him, you have to wait for the gank or for support to catch him, otherwise you have little chance to win 1v1 with him
Swain
For Aphelios, the worst game is to play against ADC mages, in this case Swain can simply destroy our Aphelios. Not 1v1 with him because you can't make it alone, he can oneshot you, better wait for your support and then you can do something to beat him
Miss Fortune
All she needs to do is stain her E and she has a comet as a rune, you have a bit of a hard lane.
Samira
Samira and her burst damage can be fatal to Aphelios. Use your cc and try to keep it away, otherwise stay close to your support.
Jhin
It is similar to Samira, stay away from Jhin and try to hit him when he has 1/3 hp try to attack him, but watch out, as he has at least level 6 he can go back to the tower and use R
Sivir
With Sivir, you have to be away from minions sometimes, because she can ricochet to hit you. Also, avoid close contact with the opposite support
Ashe
When you meet Ashe, try to hide behind the minions to avoid her W, otherwise you will be exposed to a gank or a trade, or even pay for it with death.
Thresh
In my opinion, Thresh is one of the best supports for Aphelios. An example of this is when Thresh casts his W when he finishes clearing a wave so that he can join teamfight as soon as possible.
Braum
Aphelios braum should win against most engage supports. Braum's passive synergizes very well with aphelios because aphelios has many ways to repeatedly proc braum's passive, most notably severum Q.
Lulu
If you and lulu can make it through lane, she will enable you better than any other enchanter can. Lane will be a struggle against poke and early all-in supports. I would suggest being safe until level 6 or when you have chakram.
Seraphine
If you are not against an engage support, Aphelios Seraphine is a pretty strong lane. Gravitum root should always direclty lead into a Seraphine root and Q. You both also have very long range ults that can combo into each other.
Bard
Bard is a very powerful playmaker in the right hands, but is not the most reliable champion in the lane phase. Bard can be a fine pick into an enchanter matchup but you will probably struggle playing against most engage supports.
Morgana
A very matchup dependent support. Morgana's Qs will always have very high impact, but they are unreliable. If her black shield is high value against the enemy team, that is a better sign of her being a good pick.
Blitzcrank
Aphelios doesn't really have the burst to capitalize on blitz hooks and Blitzcrank isn't the best champ at peeling. I would avoid this lane if possible.
Senna
What is this?!
