A lot of people think that Aatrox is a counterpick to Teemo, but it's really just about movement. If you take Fleet + Swifty Boots, you'll be able to dodge his Q, outrun his W (if you get hit) and outpoke him in lane. Buy Oblivion Orb early to mitigate his healing. If you know what you are doing, he won't be able to hit you. He is super weak in the first 3 levels so try to bully him as much as possible.
Pre 6 you are stronger than her as long as you avoid her E. Poke her down in the early game without getting hit by random Qs. She can only kill you with an all-in so buy a Null-Magic Mantle on your first back to match her all-in with Ignite and kill her. At 6 this matchup becomes a lot more difficult since she has her ult now and a lot more kill potential. Zhonyas can be very helpful later on against her Ultimate.
Fleet is prefered because you can poke him down and therefore not die to an all-in with his E. I recommend maxing Q first to blind him longer and have more Q damage since you'll mostly be poking him rather than auto-attacking a lot. Dodge his Q on minions and don't let him get free passive procs. You outscale him so don't worry about the late game.
I had to play against an Anivia Top once and now I'm scarred for life. If you think they'll pick her in the Top Lane, just dodge. You can't to anything in lane and will get poked out under your turret without any counterplay. Rapid Fire Canon can help in this matchup. Ask your jungler for help since she'll most likely perma push into your tower.
You can either go PTA to kill her in an all-in or Fleet to poke her out of lane. If she uses W a lot to heal, you can literally just dodge it and she'll go oom. Q her when she tries to E onto you. Shrooms against walls can be free damage. You could also stand inside a minion wave and shroom under you if she jumps on you. However, she has good gank setup with E + Ult so make sure you know where the enemy jungler is. She also becomes a lot stronger with Divine Sunderer so it might be better to save your Q for her 2nd Q.
She is the definitive Teemo Counterpick. You can't to anything in this lane since she has more range than you. Rapid Fire Canon can help in this lane. Ask your Jungler for help. Honestly, just dodge if you think they might pull out the Ultimate Couterpick.
Cho'Gath
[Starting Item: Boots + Refill]
[Build: Fleet with Cut Down + Liandry's]
Go Boots as starter so you can proc Cut Down earlier. With Fleet, you can somewhat match his insane sustain. Don't get hit by Q or you'll have a bad time. Buy Swifty Boots early. You'll be stronger when you get Liandry's since he'll try to stack HP and Liandry's counters that. Don't try to kill him because he is too tanky. He will outscale you anyway and playing risky just for you to die to a single Q and lose the entire lane is not worth it whatsoever.
This is a dead even matchup and comes down to who kills the other one first. Try to poke him down and all-in him once he is low enough. Never get hooked or you take a lot of damage or even die. Beware his Flash + Ghost and don't play too aggressively when both are up.
If you take Cull, Take Cut Down so you can proc it earlier. Cull helps you to keep up in items and get your item spikes faster. Early Oblivion Orb can help. Don't get poked out by his Q or you'll have a bad time. Try to bully him early. Once he is lvl 6, save your Ignite for his Ult so he doesn't heal himself full again.
This is a skill matchup that requires good movement and reactions. When her Vital is in a bad spot (in front of you for example), go back to reset the Vital for a better position (behind you is best) so she can't proc it for free damage + heals. Save your Q for when she approaches you with Q to avoid her E slow. Don't get too predictable with it or she'll Q + W you eventually, slowing your movement + attack speed and giving her a lot of time to proc Vitals. When she Ults you, go against a wall so she isn't able to proc the last Vital. Zhonyas is super helpful to outlast her Ultimate and get your Q cooldown back for an additional blind.
Gangplank
[Starting Item: DRing/DShield]
[Build: Fleet with Second Wind + Liandry's]
GP plays mostly around his barrels. Knowing when to attack his barrels and when you should just step away is a cruical part of the matchup and mostly comes down to mindgames. He can still poke you with Q, but might get oom if he does it too much (+ you have Fleet and Second Wind). You can also prevent his Q poke by standing in bushes. Bully him early to get the level advantage. He will outscale you so I advise playing aggressive early so you don't get zoned yourself.
Bully him as much as possible so his passive doesn't proc. You can only lose if he hits his basic Q E R Combo. If he approaches you with Q, just run away until his Q runs out or he uses it on minions and nothing will happen to you. He can push waves fast so don't recall after pushing the wave and Garen is still alive because you can potentally lose an entire wave. You can't lose if you play right.
You can go Fleet to match his own Fleet sustain, but I prefer bullying him with PTA. This matchup is not that hard to understand. Play aggressive when he is Mini Gnar (without getting hit by any Qs) and disengage right before he becomes mega gnar. If you somehow end up near him while he is on Mega Gnar, avoid walls so he can't hit his Ult. If you managed to get a lead early on, you can even beat him in his Mega form.
Gragas is super tanky and has a lot of sustain, which makes it unrealistic to kill him. You can try to match his sustain with Fleet + Second Wind. He will try to poke you with Q so try to dodge it (it is very fast and has a giant hitbox so you kinda need to predict it). If you get hit too often, he'll look for an all-in window, which is very hard to avoid with his flash E and Ult. If you manage to dodge his Q while he is mindlessly throwing it, he'll go oom eventually. Other than that, just farm and you'll be ok.
Play aggressive early to get a level advantage. You beat him in trades with your Blind. Don't get hit by free Qs. Stand behind your minions to block some of his autos. Don't stand near a wall because his Q will be a lot faster and you won't be able to dodge it. Don't let him perma push or you'll have a bad time.
After her recent buffs, Gwen has become a lot more of a menace. Punish her before she gets 4 Q stacks. When she has 4 Q stacks, dodge her E Q and punish accordingly, which might be difficult at times because her W just makes her untargetable (even for your shrooms). Respect her when she hits lvl 6. Ignite her when she uses her Ult and flash the 3rd hit of her Q. Null-Magic Mantle can help in this matchup because she'll look for all-in opportunities like these.
Heimerdinger
[Starting Item: DShield/Cull if you are greedy]
[Build: Fleet with Second WInd + Liandry's]
Stay back and farm all lane. You can't kill him and he can't kill you under turret. Try to dodge his W and E. Don't challenge his turrets when Heimer is near them. You will outscale him eventually so just focus on farming and getting as much CS as possible.
Boots can be viable to dodge her skillshots. Kill her tentacles whenever possible. Dodge her E and punish her super hard. If you don't dodge, just walk outside the circle, don't try to fight her. When tentacles attack you, dodge them by walking perpendicualr to the tentacles hitbox. For example, if the tentacle is on the right/left and tries to hit you horizontally, you dodge vertically (special thanks to xPetu).
Irelia
[Starting Item: DRing/Cloth 4pot]
[Build: PTA with Boneplating + Riftmaker]
Can go Fleet or even Grasp if super scared. Max Q first since her damage is mostly auto-attack based. Early Oblivion Orb can help against her healing. Bully her when she has no passive stacks and there are no low-health minions around. Dodge her E under all costs or you'll eat a lot of damage. Flash her Ult. When you reach your item spikes, you can even kill her with ignite.
Jax
[Starting Items: DRing/Cloth 4pot]
[Build: Fleet with boneplating/Aery if confident + Liandry's]
A bad Jax will use E before jumping on you so you can just Q him and run away and punish him afterwards. A good Jax will Q W you instantly and you won't be able to do much if you don't blind him before he jumps on you. Q max is advised in this matchup. You both scale well so depending on who gets ahead early, you can either poop on him or get pooped on.
Bully him early. Dodge his E-empowered Q and expect it when Jayce is out of vision. Save your Q for when he jumps on you with hammer to avoid his burst and punish him accordingly. He scales well so try to play aggressive early and don't let him get his item spikes for free.
Bully him pre 6 and don't let him get the push and free Qs. Make sure to dodge his empowered Q and you'll be good to go. If you have trouble dodging his Q, you can preemtively throw out a blind so he doesn't get to proc his passive. When he hits 6, stay away from walls and save your Q for when he Ults you. If you played the early game well and poked him a lot, you should even be able to kill him in his All-Out form with Ignite.
Kayle
[Starting Item: Dark Seal]
[Build: PTA + Riftmaker]
Play as aggressive as possible, don't let her play the game. If you play passively, you will get hard outscaled and lose. She can't do anything in the early game so make sure you get the most out of the laning phase. If bullied properly, Kayle should not be able to play the game until 35 minutes where you should already have ended the game because you essentially play 5v4 against the enemy team.
Kennen
[NOT A LOT OF EXPERIENCE ALERT]
[Starting Item: DRing/Dark Seal]
[Build: PTA/Fleet equally good]
Unflinching can help against his passive. You can try to match his poke with Fleet or match his lvl 6 all-in with PTA. Early Null-Magic Mantle or Ruby Crystal (which builds into Riftmaker) can help. Zhonyas can be very helpful against his Ult. Dodge his Q by juking or by standing behind minions. I don't have a lot of experience in this matchup so I can't really give any extra secret advice other than the basic Kennen stuff that applies to every champion.
Kled
[Starting Item: DRing/Cloth 4pot]
[Build: PTA with Cut Down+ Riftmaker/Rageblade]
Play aggressive early so he doesn't get a level advantage and dive you. Save your Q for when he jumps onto you with E. Dodge his Q, run away if it hits you so it lets go of you. When he is not on Skarl and low on health, Q him so he doesn't build up courage with his W and kill him.
Cheesing her lvl 1 can win you the lane. This matchup is mostly about movement. Don't let her hit Qs for free or she'll get a lot of movement speed and potentially hit you for free without getting punished. Get the wave control and bully her before that happens.
Malphite
[Starting Item: DRing/Dark Seal]
[Build: Fleet with Second Wind + Riftmaker]
Malphite's Gameplan is just using Q until you are low enough to die to his Ult. While Fleet with Riftmaker might sound weird at first, recent developments have shown that by rushing Riftmaker first item, you can outsustain his poke and even outpoke him. Try to poke him so that he doesn't get his passive shield back. Watch out for ganks because Malphite Ult is a perfect gank setup. Flash his Ult whenever you predict it.
Maokai
[Starting Item: DRing/Dark Seal]
[Build: PTA with Cut Down + Riftmaker/Rageblade]
Play aggressive and abuse Maokai's weak early game. Watch out for ganks because his gank setup is insane, especially with Ult. Stay away from bushes when he throws his saplings in there. Don't get hit by his Q, it can deal a lot more damage than you think.
Mordekaiser
[Starting Item: DRing/Boots + Refill]
[Build: PTA with Cut Down + Riftmaker/Rageblade]
(Alan234 advises a Cull buy on your first recall). Boots early help you with Morde's skillshots. As long as you dodge his isolated Q and E, you should be good to go. Buy QSS to negate his Ult. Simple matchup where it comes down to your movement. Getting hit will probably lose you the entire lane.
Nasus
[Starting Item: DRing]
[Build: Phase Rush + Any build depending on the enemy comp]
One of the only matchups where I would recommend Phase Rush. Poke him as much as possible (which can be hard if the Nasus goes Fleet). Deny him his Q stacks by blinding him. Don't get poked out by his E. When he pops W, just proc Phase Rush and run away, don't bother fighting him.
Olaf
[Starting Item: Boots + Refill]
[Build: Phase Rush with Unflinching + Any build depending on the enemy comp]
One of the only matchups where I would recommend Phase Rush. Buy Swifty Boots early. Dodge his Q at all costs. If he hits Q, proc Phase Rush and run away. Try to farm and outscale him. Only fight him if he is super low and you have Ignite available.
Just farm, nobody has kill pressure here (except Ornn if he has Ult and his Jungler ganks, flash his Ult if that's the case). Never get hit by his Q. Splitpush all game because Ornn will teamfight a lot.
Pantheon
[Starting Item: DRing/Cloth 4pot]
[Build: Fleet/Grasp with Bone Plating + Liandry's]
Don't get hit by his tap Q poke. Q him when he wants to go for a W (this will deny his 3 autos and therefore 3 passive stacks). Don't go for trades if his E is up. Post 6 you can win with shrooms and ignite when Pantheon doesn't have 5 stacks.
Bully her all game. Don't trade with her if her passive shield is up. Don't get hit by free Qs. If you stay away from walls, she won't be able to do anything to you.
Putting a few points into Q can be good since Quinn's damage is AA based. Dodge her Q. Blind her if she goes for E. Lvl 6 push the wave all the time because Quinn will roam. Deny her as much farm as possible while she is gone and spam ping for your team if she isn't in lane anymore.
Riftmaker is viable, but I recommend Liandry's because Rammus counters Auto-Attackers. Just farm early, you won't kill him, especially if he starts proxy farming (behind you, between your towers). Cull might be viable in higher elo.
Renekton
[Starting Item: DRing/Dark Seal]
[Build: PTA with Boneplating + Riftmaker]
This is a skill matchup, which depends on Renekton hitting his W Stun for him to win. When he dashes onto you with E and you anticipate a W, Q him preemtively. If he uses W and you dodged, great! Punish him for it. If you got hit, say goodbye to most of your health bar. If the Renekton is good, he can also predict your Q and wait it out before using W. If that's the case, just run away until his W runs out or he disengages. Spacing is very important in matchups like these.
If there is one matchup where I always try to go for a lvl 1 cheese, it's this one. For that I go PTA with DRing and stand inside the furthest bush. Rengar always plays around bushes and if he steps into you, you can get a lot of damage or even a kill on him since he doesn't have all of his abilities and can't leap onto you if you both stand inside the same bush. If you manage to bully him out of the bush and the first wave, you automatically win the early lane. Slow push into him and recall to get an item advantage. After that, depending on how good the Rengar is, your lead might not be relevant again since he has access to bushes again, but your item advantage can help you against all-ins if he gets cocky. If you are too scared of him, go Fleet and buy a Cloth Armor + 4pot and farm all lane since you won't be able to challenge him without dying.
