Champion Build Guide
Why Use My Build?
Cause it's the best one there is. Only here you will find detailed information on how to play this champion well while most other guides only cover basic stuff that's common sense anyway without providing actually helpful gameplay advice. Every season since season 7 I got at least high diamond with a really high win rate and awesome stats mainly playing Warwick.
Some records:
- Start of season 14: 87% WR in my first 15 games playing Warwick only
- Patch 13.20: Master 317LP 76% WR and Rank 1 Warwick EUW
- January 2023: Master 259LP and both Rank 1 (smurf) and Rank 3 (main) Warwick EUW
- Season 7: start of my Warwick Journey on a new account
My main account (since season 9) is demon youth on EUW.
Played the right way, Warwick is really strong and the only reason he doesn't have a lot higher win rate is that almost everyone is playing him wrong. Warwick beats almost every other jungler 1v1 at every stage of the game, having no truly weak phases.
Patch 14.15 Situation:
This season is not easy in my opinion. Everyone has insane damage and it's mostly about who oneshots the other one first. It took me quite a while to find a build that I can consistently perform well with and not have games feel like complete coinflips anymore and here it is.
The strategy for most games is: Get a lead which is still easy most of the time with Warwick because of your W and then just consistently match or outpace the enemy Jungler while you are stronger than him. The resistances and utility in this build help with not dying and throwing your lead by giving a shut down. Focus on setting up good skirmishes for your team and don't be afraid to frontline.
Jungle EXP is super strong right now so do not sleep on clearing your camps efficiently. The high attack speed and AOE from Tiamat/Stridebreaker you get from this build give you pretty decent clear speed.
In 14.15 Merc's got significantly nerfed while Steelcaps got stronger (though 100g more expensive just like most boots) so its probably a good idea to build Steelcaps over Merc's more again.

Why these runes?
At the moment we go for Press the Attack along with Triumph, Legend: Alacrity and Coup de Grace.
The extra burst and extra damage for the rest of the fight from Press the Attack helps us with getting enemies below 50% health (for W passive) and 40% health (Coup de Grace) to finish them off quickly.
For the second tree I recommend Sorcery with Celerity and Waterwalking to both make up for Warwicks rather low base MS and also make W passive MS even stronger.
For the extra stat rune slots we take the following:
Slot 1: Attack Speed
Slot 2: Adaptive Force
Slot 3: Scaling HP

Warwick's Abilites
My comments on the abilities require you to already know what's written in the tooltip, so read the ability-tooltip first. I will only give additional information, helping you to adequately understand and use each ability.
If you are new to the game and don't know how Warwick works at all, just enter a training game, read his ability-tooltips and try everything out for a bit.
Passive Eternal Hunger:
Gives us a nice upgrade to our insanely strong duel-potential. Also giving us the opportunity to heal up in the jungle when we get low on health. Eternal Hunger together with Blood Hunt allows Warwick to easily solo-kill Dragon in the early game, too. (Cloud Drake can be hard at early levels (attacking very quickly) while Mountain Drake is the easiest one to kill due to his slow attacks).
Q ( Jaws of the Beast ):
There are 2 possible ways to use Warwick's Q Jaws of the Beast. For the first one, you just tap "Q" on your keyboard and release your finger from the key right after the tap. Doing it this way, Warwick just leaps forward and performs his bite. Nothing special happening here.
The second way to use Jaws of the Beast is to press the "Q" key on your keyboard and keep pressing it for longer, causing Warwick to dash through the enemy and appearing behind him. While Warwick "dashes" through the target, he is immune to any displacements (knock-ups, knock backs; e.g. Blitzcrank/Thresh hooks, any airborne abilities etc.). In addition, if the enemy performs a movement ability while Warwick is dashing through the target, Warwick will follow the movement and still appear next to the enemy, no matter where he went. This works on almost every movement ability in the game, including Flash, the Blast Cone, Bard Tunnels ( Magical Journey), Ryze Ultimate ( Realm Warp) et cetera.
You always want to use the second way of pressing "Q" when ganking, so you will follow the enemy's Flash if he uses it.
W ( Blood Hunt ):
Tooltip explains it. One thing that isn't in the tooltip and lots of people think is a bug (it's most likely not, Riot probably wants it to be this way, otherwise the ability would be too strong):
When you die and later get back to life, Blood Hunt will not automatically search for low health enemies and trigger on them. They need to take damage from your team while you are alive to trigger Blood Hunt (minion hits and tower shots work as well).
E ( Primal Howl ):
Tooltip explains it. Try to use Primal Howl when the enemy is trying to burst you down, to avoid as much damage as you can. Also when ganking, try to activate E ( Primal Howl), then Q ( Jaws of the Beast) behind the enemy and then re-activate E ( Primal Howl) to make the enemy run towards your allies when he gets feared.
R ( Infinite Duress ):
When Warwick performs his R, he is immune to EVERY(!) CC in the game while flying through the air, not only to knock-ups/backs but also to stuns et cetera.
Easy example: Twisted Fate is throwing his stun card ( Pick A Card) at you while you run towards him. You just press R when the card is flying and it will hit you while(!) you are jumping, making you immune to the stun, applying your R's damage and CC to him.
If you use your Q ( Jaws of the Beast) and R ( Infinite Duress) the right way, you can deny almost infinite amounts of CC from the enemy, giving Warwick insanely high outplay-potential. Getting into playing Warwick is easy, but his skill cap is very high, making him by no means a "noob champ".

Jungle Paths
For jungle pathing in general you just need common sense and practice. Being flexible and adaptive with your pathing is more important than ever in the current meta. But what's most important is your first clear.
Important: Always get Sweeping Lens at level 1! Often the enemy will ward your Raptors level 1. With sweeper you can let a solo laner kill it so they get an early level 2 which can sometimes decide a whole laning phase in their favor.
Right now usually you want to always start with Red Buff -> Krugs -> Raptors. This applies for both starting Red Side and Blue Side. The reason is that it gives us maximum flexibility for the early game, allowing for either an early level 3 gank or an efficient full clear.
Now right before you finish Raptors you need to look at the state of the lanes and make the most important decision of your early game and decide for trying to execute one of the following scenarios:
Note that the examples are for Blue Side (you spawn in the lower left corner) but apply for Red Side (you spawn in the upper right corner) in the same way!! You still start with Red Buff -> Krugs -> Raptors. Just on the other side of the map). Scenario 1 is also often a good pick for Red Side because even though the top lane is harder to access since Season 14, top laners tend to heavily overextend and trade a lot in the early game which increases gankability.
It is important to keep in mind that you can not have a fixed plan for every situation ever possible. Especially these days League is a versatile and fast paced game. While I can give you a good blueprint for the early game there will always be something unexpected happening and you will have to learn and adapt for yourself. Check out my stream if you want to see what I'm doing in different situations.
Also keep in mind that you can (rather should!) always interrupt your jungle clear or skip a camp, if you see a good gank (or counter-gank) opportunity. Warwick's Passive on W ( Blood Hunt ) helps a lot with that. Do not (!) try to force ganks on targets that are hard to gank (safe position, too healthy, too much mobility), because it's too risky. Just clear your jungle and use good opportunities on vulnerable targets (overextending / low health / low mobility (e.g. no Flash))!
Last but not least, try to always have a Control Ward active on the map. If your support doesn't take care of it, also always bring a Control Ward to Baron / Dragon.

Have Fun!
I'm aware of my guide not being as visually appealing as others, but it contains all the important information you need to get into the rift and dominate everyone with Warwick. That's what you wanted, right? Have fun climbing :)
