Morgana
This champion is a difficult matchup. Her Black Shield can negate key parts of Sejuani’s kit, including Arctic Assault (Q), Glacial Prison (R), and the stun from Permafrost (E) if the shield remains active. Proper timing and coordination are required to avoid having your engage nullified.

Hello, I am Gaylaxy. I have been an engage support playing for the last 4 years, playing in EUW and now OCE due to a family move. I peaked 450LP Masters in EUW and 752LP Challenger on OCE. I have always loved engage supports and what the role offers in the form of game impact and variety from mages, to enchanters and of course engage.
I was originally a Jungle Sej OTP throughout 2018, but moved away from the role as I got frustrated with the lack of game understanding I had at the time, sitting around gold. Since then, I have improved massively and fallen back in love with Sej as the super assassin, tank and CC bot she is and will be in every single game regardless of game state.
This will be my first Mobafire guide ever, but I've always wanted to create one, but never had the right timing. I will be figuring out slowly how to format it and my goals is to have the #1 sej guide in the world.
Pros
[+] Offers great sustainable gap close and peel, interrupts most abilities, including flying engages such as
[+]
[+] No one expects
[+] Massive roaming potential and mid-game skirmishing due to hitting powerspikes very early on.
[+] Can change a losing game into a winning game with a single engage or peel.
[+] Great off-tank
Cons
[-] Very weak level 1
[-] Can be squishy into certain comps, making engage not viable unless with R.
[-] Teammates can tilt during champ select, thinking you're trolling.

| I take these boots in most games, just like Poppy. Your ability to outmaneuver the enemy support is a major factor in winning the early to mid-game. If you can play wave states correctly, these become an invaluable tool. | |
|
I only take these if the enemy team is majority AP or has a lot of hybrid carries such as
| Waste of time, don't bother. You build enough natural armour in your kit to make up for it. Movement speed and tenacity are standalone stats that are difficult to replicate within a build. If they get buffed to what they used to be sure. If the enemy team is FULL AD, obviously take them. Common sense > Mobafire guide. | |
|
I take this in about 50% of my games. It depends on how much peel I will require. If the enemy team has champions like
|
This is for when we want to FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT and have early anti-healing for burst damage. Great for games where you are taking the aggressive route and looking to create early pressure. Strong against champions like
|
Morgana — Difficult matchup. Her Black Shield can negate key parts of
|
Brand — Deals extremely high burst damage and can quickly eliminate targets if given the opportunity. Some off-meta tank builds can also make him harder to kill while still outputting significant damage. The matchup can be managed by playing around his abilities. If he misses his
| Vel'Koz — One of the more difficult APC matchups. He deals extremely high damage and can quickly eliminate targets in the mid game if given space. Positioning carefully and timing engages well is important to avoid being burst down. | |
|
Taric — Can be very difficult to deal with. If he misses his
|
Braum — Braum can completly counter
|
Tahm Kench — A rare but difficult matchup for engage supports. Similar to
|
This is what really give For example here is my usual engage rotation |
| Extra damage off your CC, this is bread and butter within Sej Kit and aids towards the serious damage output you will have during midgame skirmishes |
| Great for sweeper wards, I hate as an engage support not having enough, and you gain the stacks quickly through all the fighting you should be doing. Gain vision score like there is no tomorrow. |
|
No brainer rune, more ult CD means more ultimates. This means you get more times to take chances and find the picks, also a bigger damage output and lockdown for pesky champs such as |
Option 1 Secondary
| Great at mid-game tankiness spike, makes you really hard to kill out of nowhere and allows you not to build full tank and still be a useful frontliner. |
| This can be hard to stack during the early game if you are in FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT mode, just keep in mind it is taking away in the background. Grubs does stack it so I always go there to fight and get tankier, great for scaling though. |
Option 2 Secondary
| Gives more damage to your ultimate, but that main reason to take this is every takedown reduces the CD by 7% which at rank 1 is 7 seconds (not including other things zekes etc..) so you get to be on the map faster over the course of a game this is an extra 2/3 ultimates and turns you get to take or break. |
| Lets you get to places faster, you will be paired with a jungler for a majority of the game and most fights early of scuttle are just massively easier. NO brainer. |
| This is the item that secretly makes Sej OP. The amount of damage you proc from this is crazy. Not only do you juice your teammates, you can also consistently proc it over and over again with the combo above. | |
|
Recently just got buffed on 26.5 to ensure it is effective earlygame as bandlepipes was overperforming, the buff is really strong espically vs any AoE champion such as
|
Bandlepipes engages and supports

This is my ol' reliable item. If you have a Mr President AD carry or jungler rush this item and put it on them, then follow them around like a more useful yuumi ensuring they dont die. Great stats and keeps you alive, perfectly complements
| Sometimes we gotta pay the anti-healing tax. We are a good holder, as when we go in, we get the frontload of the damage before the follow-up. Sometimes you gotta pay tax. | |
