INTRODUCTION
PROS
|
o Amazing peel for your team o Sustain in team fights o Amazing counter ganks o Can peel and provide shields o Can create bushes to deny vision o Aoe Slow o Instant buff steals o Can out-sustain many 2v2s o Provides an engage for the team o Super annoying o Rarely gets banned o Creates 2 buffs after 5 o Daisy can tank baron and drake o Huge teamfight presense o Fast counter-jungling |
Ivern may not be the greatest pick in solo q because he cant deal all the damage, but as soon as he has a duo such as Pyke or a high mobility mid laner like Fizz he can instantly abuse their kits with his Triggerseed and Rootcaller to make a sticky unkillable force. If you don't have a duo partner ask in champ select for high damage, high mobility champions or cc heavy tanks such as Leona and Alistar. Once you get used to Ivern you will be stomping in no time. |
CONS
|
- Poor late-game - Can get picked off lv 1 - Steep learning curve - Strange play style - Hard to master - Slow Q skillshot - Needs a decent team - Low damage output - Team usually doesn't know your kit - Needs teams assistance early - Bad early skirmishes |
Ivern is an amazing champion although he does have some down sides, low elo nobody knows his kit. So your team wont know how to completely utilise it and it leaves you tilted AF. Such as not knowing to click on a target rooted by Rootcaller or how to collect buffs from Friend of the Forest or to even stand by people while Triggerseed is on them for the slow. And yes, Ivern will be annoying and hard and somewhat boring as you start out, but he gets fun quick and I'm just telling you to hold in there for a while. |
Friend of the Forest Ivern cannot attack or damage non-epic monsters. Instead, targeting a jungle camp initiates a 2.5-second channel that, upon completion, places the monsters within a grove. Placing a grove costs 22.5-8% of his base health and mana (based on level), and cannot be cast if Ivern lacks the resources.
The grove matures over 40-30s (at levels 1-6), 27-15s (at levels 7-11), 11-3s (at levels 12-14), 1s (level 15+). When fully matured, Ivern can interact with the camp again to instantly free the monsters, sending them away while receiving their full gold and experience bounty. Smiting a camp within a grove will instantly free the monsters, regardless of its maturity or the monster's current health.
If the camp's large monster has already been slain, Ivern will free the camp upon completing the channel at no cost. Similarly, the grove will instantly mature if the large monster is slain.
Starting at level 5, freeing the Red Brambleback or Blue Sentinel leaves behind a sapling that can be picked up by an allied champion to gain the camp's buff, consuming it in the process. If at least one allied champion is nearby, Ivern can pick up the sapling to transfer it to the nearest one in range. If an ally kills either monster, they also leave behind a sapling that only Ivern can consume.
Rootcaller Ivern throws out a vine, rooting and dealing damage to the first target hit.Allies can target the rooted enemy to dash towards them into auto attack range. This is iverns main form of cc, often used to surprise the enemy or to use after they are affected by CC. When ganking wait for the enemy to flash before using or use it to burn the flash. Combo E Triggerseed to slow them followed by Rootcaller to make hitting the slow moving skill shot much easier
Brushmaker Ivern Creates a bush to deny vision or for gaining vision for a short period of time. This ability is amazing and you can be so creative. Use this before a turret while pushing as a team to create a safe place for you all to retreat to, or at the entrance of the pits to stop vision from coming in, OR to drag the drake out into the river if the pit is warded. You can also use this ability to drop agro or to surprise enemies. You can also use Brushmaker to gain temporary vision of a location.
Triggerseed Ivern places a triggerseed on an ally or himself granting a shield, after a brief delay the seed bursts slowing and dealing damage in an AoE around your target. This ability is the bread and butter of Ivern you can use it while ganking to slow the enemy, to escape, or to save yourself or an ally. I love to chase down enemies with Triggerseed placed on Daisy! followed by a Rootcaller to chase down enemies.
Daisy! Ivern summons his sentinel friend Daisy to help him out Every third auto from daisy knocks up people in a line outwards from her to her target, this is very useful in team fights. Triggerseed can be placed on daisy, for tanking turrets, rift, baron, drake or to chase. If you use Rootcaller on a target Daisy! will dash towards the target.
