Champion Build Guide
Hello there! My name is Lao Shin, I'm 19 Years old and I'm a high elo Toplane Main. I've played League of Legends since season 1, and have mained toplane since season 2. My second best role is midlane. Ever since season 3 I've been high Diamond and peaked Challenger multiple season's. League of Legends has always been my main game, the most fun part of the game is never learning out, there is always something new. |
I always liked Wukong because he is that simple of a champion and actually he is the champ i hit diamond my first time! Wukong is a great champion for beginners and has even more potential if you are a very experienced player. Wukong got a great early, mid and lategame he is good in every phase of the game. He has a few different playstyles and buildes who are all good in the current meta. He has great duelling, split push, and teamfight potential. If u want to play a high burst ape who can destroy teamfights with a single ult, then Wukong the monkey king is for you. |
PROS +Great in every phase of the game +High burst +Doublekill Potential when getting ganked +High Carry Potential +Gank save |
CONS -No disengage -Highly depends on his W -Lack of Mobility Dynamicc liebt Bananen |
Skill Order
Q: Crushing Blow
|
ACTIVE: Wukong's next basic attack within 5 seconds gains 125 bonus range, deals bonus physical damage and reduces his target's armor for 3 seconds. Crushing Blow resets Wukong's autoattack timer. |
W: Decoy
E: Nimbus Strike
R: Cyclone
Flash is the most basic summoner and there is no reason to change it to anything else. Also it's ur most important spell in a teamfight. A fight with it can be game deciding and a teamfight without it can be the game losing. Never waste it for a solokill except in the early game. |
Teleport is great for ganking botlane or counter ganking botlane when the enemy jungler is there, sometimes u can get a tripple kill or simply save ur team, it wins games don't underrestimate it. Usually in the late game u can splitpush botlane and TP to ur team when a baron fight comes up. |
Ignite enables u some games to snowball out of controll and it's heal reduction and that's a pretty huge thing right now in the meta. In some matchups Ignite is exactly that little gap between the enemy surviving with 50Hp and the enemy being dead. |
Electrocute is great burst with ur E + AA + Q Combo, if u are fed it can enable you to oneshot squishy enemys. Electrocute scales with AD so if u are ahead the rune does a lot more burst. The only bad part on it is the high amount of cooldown but u can easily play around that. |
Wukong's E proc's Sudden Impact mid air and your combo does a lot of extra burst. It's more damage for free. |
Ghost Poro got reworked a little with patch 8.14, if u place it in a bush in the enemy territory or you move in there, you get adaptive bonus damage. Especially in the earlygame it will give you extra kill pressure. Usually i set it either in the tri-bush or the river bush, depends on which side you are on. |
No matter if u win lane or not, roaming is always good to give your team a lead. With Relentless Hunter you can roam a lot faster and lose less minions on your lane. |
Chrysalis helps a lot to get through hard lanes and makes easy lanes even easier. It gives you a good amount of HP in the earlygame and a bunch of AD later in the game. |
Start with this every single game, it's simply the best option because it offers you good trading potential, great sustain and a lot of mana. |
If u play against heavy AD team's, a lot of autoattackers or simply a harsh matchup u want to grab Ninja Tabi. |
If u play against heavy AP team's or a hard cc team comps u always want to get Mercury's Treads. Some examples are Zoe Nautilus or Morgana |
Since they changed how Duskblade of Draktharr works, it's the best item in the game for Wukong. You can use it multiple times in a single fight if u wait long enough in your Warrior Trickster. It's also a great Item for roaming because u always know when u step on a ward and can instantly clear them. |
Youmuu's Ghostblade gives you a lot of mobility and a ton of burst. You can use it while Cyclone or Warrior Trickster to chase the enemy down and secure the kill for you. |
If the enemys start to build armor, Black Cleaver shreds them down, also it gives u another 20% cooldown reduction with Duskblade of Draktharr + Youmuu's Ghostblade u have max coodown reduction. |
Tiamat fit's in a lot of Wukong combo's and gives you a lot of waveclear. Later in the game u can either build it into ravenou's hydra to get a bunch of lifesteal and more burst. The other choice would be Titanic Hydra if you need the extra HP, it also gives a autoattack reset which enables a few other combo's. |
Since you engage deep in the teamfight and don't have any spells to disengage you might wanna get Guardian Angel to survive and don't give the enemys a huge shutdown gold. |
If u need some extra health and get bursted too hard u might wanna buy Sterak's Gage. It's especially good vs champions like Darius Rengar Camille. It also syngeryzes really well with Titanic Hydra. |
If you already bought a bunch of lethality like Duskblade of Draktharr and Youmuu's Ghostblade and it seems like the enemys refuse to build armor then u can go for edge of knight it's great for more damage but if the enemys start to build armor it falls off and get's worse. It's a very decent item but there are very rarely games where it's good. |
Enemys have a heavy AP team or a fed AP Carry? Grab Maw of Malmortius it gives a lot of great stats for Wukong like lifesteal magic ressist ad a huge shield and cooldown reduction. If u buy it, look to not overcap your CDR you can only get a max of 40%! |
A very good defensive and aggressive item is Death's Dance. It makes you a little more tanky but also gives u lifesteal, AD and cooldown reduction. Thats all very good stats Wukong needs. The only reason u don't buy this Item that often is simply because the other options are better on Wukong. If u want to fit it into your itembuild I suggest swapping Ravenous Hydra out for it. U don't need double lifesteal anyway. |
What's Important? Everyone should try to create a own playstyle, enemys won't expect something they have never seen. Try to find what works best for urself. |
Early Game The lanephase highly depends on the matchup. In some matchup's you can snowball out of controll and in some matchup's you just farm up, try to outscale the enemy and roam a lot. No matter if it's a hard or easy matchup u always want to have perfect CS, if u struggle with that try to improve it on custom games it's your main gold income. If u get ganked and you are lvl6 a lot of times u can kill them both, if the enemy jungler is a squishy champ or underleveled. If u manage to actually kill them both the game is almost yours. |
Mid Game This is the time where u already should have bought your Boots, Duskblade of Draktharr Youmuu's Ghostblade and Tiamat. Now u can oneshot everyone who is squishy. Try to roam a lot for objectives or kills so your midlaner or botlane gets far ahead and u can easily stomp the game. |
Late Game This is where you want to get a huge teamfight engage and finish the game. Never overextend or farm "one more wave" it can cost u the game. If both teams want to get baron u can split push botlane and try to get some objectives and if a fight is about to happen you can Teleport to your team and secure the Baron or Teamfight in your favor. |
Teamfighting with Wukong is very simple, all you have to do is try to reach the enemy carry or support and oneshot him. After u did this u want to get a huge Cyclone on as many targets as possible to get as much damage as u can on the enemy team. |
Wukong can do a lot of great combo's some poeple don't even know about. You can surprise the enemy with it so fast that he can't even react to some of these. I would suggest you to hop into the Sandbox mode and master them all, it makes the difference between a good Wukong and a true Monkey King. |
Shoutout to Art of Stealth for making this great Combo Video! |
League of Legends is a game u have to play a lot to learn it. With playing a simple champion like Wukong you don't have to focus at anything like mechanics and can focus on your decision making and learning. Playing Wukong is very simple but also very effective. His winrate is at a very high point right now and u should play him as long as he is good. No matter if u play him Top/Mid/Jungle or even Botlane bruiser he is a very solid pick and even if u are behind, super usefull. |
