Champion Build Guide

A guide to Rammus Support

By xDopii
Introduction
Hi I'm Dopi, a diamond 4 Support Main in EUW. I created this guide to help you discover some champion picks that may seem odd but are very useful when executed properly. I hope this will inspire you to try Rammus Support in your future games and perform better overall. Thank you for reading.
Why Rammus?
Rammus is very tanky and has a great engage which makes him a very good frontline. With good follow ups he can easily turn around fights and start them whenever he wants. He can keep targets at a place and is easily able to punish immobile targets such as Ashe, Draven, etc.

He is also very fun to play and a great roamer because of his Q. Its very easy to start fights and help your teammates because he functions as a second jungler but is also a great peel for your allies because of his abilities to lock down high damage dealers, especially assassins.

Read the Pros and Cons section to learn more.
Pros & Cons
Pros:

+Very tanky
+Great engage and mobility, very good at roaming
+Good peeling with CC
+Can easily lock down high burst damage champions, for example Assassins

Rammus is a tanky champion that is very good against immobile and high burst champions because of his CC and reflection ability. He is also great at roaming because of his high mobility and can function as a second jungler.

Cons:

-Isn't really a support so he lacks supportive abilities like heals or shields
-Not very strong early game depending on enemy team comp
Early Game
In the early game you don't really want to force a lot of fights depending on the team. If the enemies have a lane like Ashe, Nami and you have Lucian, you can try forcing fights once you reach level 2 but you have to make sure to dodge most of the damage and don't be poked out.

Try standing near bushes and especially away from poke damage. You are short ranged so you can't really trade but look out for engages if the enemies walk up too close. Your lane can easily be ganked with your good engage so communicate with your jungler and ask him to help.
Mid Game
In the mid game you want to fight around objectives as much as possible. You can force them with a roam to mid lane or starting a fight in the jungle. Your best option is to either go mid or sit in a bush with your teammates and wait for someone to walk by so you can engage onto them.

What you have to do in fights depends on the game and your role in the team. If the enemies have a lot of assassins and your team already has a good engage, you should focus on peeling for your teammates. If your team lacks engage and needs one, you should look for engaging fast and frontlining so your team can deal damage from behind.
Late Game
In the late game you will be very tanky and the main frontline of your team. Your job is to take down the enemy ADC and other immobile squishy targets aswell as high burst champions like assassins. While doing that you can stand near your own ADC to make sure they don't die. To perform best, you have to know your place in the game which will usually be to help your carry champions do their job since you don't have high damage by yourself and no one expects you to get a pentakill.

Don't engage to deep and always look out for enemy engages onto your allies. If you go onto their ADC while your entire team stands 50m behind, you can't expect a follow up so always communicate and look for the best oppurtunities.
Conclusion
I hope this guide helped you a little bit and inspired you to try Rammus Support in one of your games. If you liked this guide you can also check out my other Support Guides which are similar and offer a lot of help especially around building.
