Ladies, and Gentlemen, Welcome to my Ezreal guide!

Im jellybabe, and today I simply felt like making a detailed guide for you guys, after more than a year experience with Ezreal.

I've been playing AD carries for the past years, and I believe that my favorite would definately be Ezreal. His skillshots, his passive and his arcane shift is just perfect for an AD Carry.
Anyways, let's get straight to the guide!

Ezreal, the Prodigal Explorer

Ezreal was born with the gift of magic flowing through his veins. Ezreal, however, was also born with a much stronger sense of wanderlust. Put into school to become a skilled techmaturgist, Ezreal quickly became bored with magical studies. By the time the boy genius was eight years old, he had fully mapped out the underground tunnels of Piltover. The quality of his work was so great that the government of Piltover purchased his maps and salaried his services as Piltover's Grandmaster Explorer. This sealed the deal on Ezreal's path in life - he would eschew the arcane arts in favor of archaeology. Since then, countless of Ezreal's adventures have been written about as romanticized stories.

One of Ezreal's latest adventures, however, has brought him face-to-face with his other legacy - his latent magical power. While exploring the pyramids of Shurima Desert, Ezreal uncovered an amulet of incredible power. Aside from the sheer size of the amulet (it was made for a being easily twice Ezreal's size), it allows the wielder to control and shape magical energy - provided a source of magic is in the vicinity. This allowed Ezreal to tap into his natural talent for magic without having to put any serious effort into it - a big win for the Prodigal Explorer. The drawback is that for some unknown reason, the amulet is attuned with summoning magic. Without warning, Ezreal may find himself acting as a champion for, as he puts it, ''a summoner hell-bent on resolving some irrelevant world-shattering League conflict.'' Still, Ezreal feels being summoned into a Field of Justice on occasion is a small price to pay.

''There's little time to study musty tomes when you're busy crawling around where the musty tomes originally came from.'' Such is Ezreal's credo.

Abilities

Mystic Shot: Ezreal primary damaging skill. This ability proc on hit effect such as Sheen and Phage which makes it even more dangerous. Another thing about this skill is that it reduced all Ezreal abilities cooldown by 1 second when it is hit. And yes, when i mean all, it also reduce its own cooldown. It also scales amazingly with your AD and a good amount with your AP
Essence Flux: Kinda useless on AD Ezreal. It does give extra attack speed if it pass through your teammate, but mostly used for stacking Rising Spell Force.
Arcane Shift: This what makes Ezreal to have an amazing mobility. It's an inbuilt Flash specially for Ezreal.
Trueshot Barrage: This is what makes Ezreal a true terror. Trueshot Barrage can go from one end to the other end. This allows you to snipe escaping enemies or even deal early damage to the entire enemy team when they're grouped when a fight is about to begin. It scales both with AD and AP, that's the upside. The downside is it deals 8% less damage for each additional unit hit. So if you want to deal the most damage to an enemy, try avoiding shooting it through a wave of minions.

Masteries

I like to go 21 points on offense and 9 on defense. This is simply because of the extra AD and damage output. A great mastery such as Executioner is great for farming, and securing kills. 5% may not sound a lot, but trust me, you'll encounter times where you miss a farm by 5 health.

I like to go a bit defense, especially with the armor. This is because of Ezreal's small range. His basic attacks aren't as ranged as Caitlyn, she will be a pain when she continuously harasses you early game.

Abilities

Ability Sequence

The Mystic Shot is probably what makes Ezreal so strong and viable as an ADC. It has a high damage output, a low cool down, and a low mana cost. Remember that everytime you land your Mystic Shot. it refreshes the cooldown of your abilities by 1 second. I suggest you spam your Q when farming late game to get your Trueshot Barrage as soon as possible.

This ability has been heavily nerfed since the last update of Ezreal, when it uses to slow enemies attack speed. This was great, as Ezreal would simply cast it on the other ADC, making them very weak. It scales off AP, and it allows teammates to have a boost in attack speed when it passes through them. You can use Essence Flux to give teammates extra attack speed in team fights, or when fighting dragon or baron.

Arcane Shift is great for Ezreal. It's also another ability that makes his so good as an ADC. Every time he is focused, or has bad positioning in team fights, you can simply Arcane Shift to a secure or better place. Also used as an escape tool, arcane shift offers high burst damage early game, when using the short combo (Look at tips & Tricks section). Arcane shift is really great for sheen, since you get that extra damage when you basic attack after the flash.

I simply love this ability. It helps with farms, has a low cooldown, and is great in teamfights when his ult is landed correctly. Usually I try to Trueshot Barrage in a straight line, where the BANNANA ULLLLLLLLTTTT is in line with the enemy running away, so it has a higher chance of hitting. Use this before recalling to clear a creep wave, so you make sure your lane isn't pushed by your opponent. It should be nearly back and fresh when you get back in lane.

Key Items Early game

Boots + 3x Health Potions are the standard opening items on ADCs as they give you a movement
speed boost and 450 effective health. This means high sustainability in lane, and better movement to dodge abilities.

As the ADC, you're going to want to do some damage, take some damage, and heal from some damage. Doran's Blade if perfect for this.
Doran's Blade returns life (HP) on hit, allowing trades.

Sheen can be very beneficial for Ezreal early game. With Sheen, he can poke and harass enemies with Mystic Shot and a basic attack, or even burst people down with his Sheen. Sheen gives extremely high damage output early game!

Mid Game Items

Trinity Force I believe is the main Item which gives the high damage output Mid game. Although you may hear that Trinity isnt appropriate for Ezreal, the extra burst, movement speed, attack speed, critical chance, health, mana, and slows is just perfect for Ezreal

Bloodthirster is probably the main item using in ADCs. This is because of the higher AD, and the extra life steal to keep the ADC sustained and with the team, so that they do not need to recall after being harassed. Life steal is extremely important, as it gives the ADC a higher chance of surviving, as Ezreal can be focused down very easily.

I usually like to rush to a Phantom Dancer. This is because of the extra attack speed and movement speed. This goes very well with your trinity and your passive, which can help you get kills before it reaches late game, where there are more team fights. This also boosts your rate of farms/cs, so you should easily be able to out farm everyone with no problem!

Late Game/Situation Items

The Guardian Angel really is probably the best defensive item in the game. Not only does it give you an increase in Armor and Magic Resist, but it also gives you the ability to be revived by the items passive. As the ADC, it's normal for you to be focused down very hard. During team fights, a GA can be very useful, where you can deal more damage to the enemy team, or even turn the tides around by cleaning off the opponent team.

This is also extremely important as an ADC. The Infinity Edge is probably the most important item used by AD carries. This is because of the high damage output from basic attacks, where it gives you a 250% extra damage, when hitting a critical strike. This means more than double the normal AD you have. It also increases your critical chance and your AD by +80, which is extremely beneficial for any ADCs.

The Last Whisper, although it may not give as much as damage, can be very useful against tanky targets. The extra armor penetration can not r skillshots. As mentioned earlier, Ezreal's skillset is extremely beneficial from this.
This item is famous for it's kiting ability.

Summoner Spells

Appropriate Summoner Spells

Great for closing gaps or opening gaps, and getting away from enemies. The fact that you have to flash's is great, but make sure not to waste your arcane shift, because it may come in use, even though you have your Flash!

Standard Spell that most champions use. Of course, for the extra damage, and the fact to avoid ignite is much more harder than abilities. This can come in use as Ezreal's abilities consists of skillshots.

Cleanse can be very useful for ADCs, and is an appropriate spell for [[Ezreal[[, especially when you're against a team with a lot of crowd Control. You may have the two flashes, but they're useless when you're pinned down by stuns or silences.

Supports good with Ezreal!

Nunu's Blood Boil goes very well with Ezreal. This gives him an extra attack speed and movement speed, allowing him to deal much more damage when poking or harassing.

Tarics stun is extremely good with Ezreal's skillshots. This helps ezreal deal much more damage, as there is a higher chance of hitting one when an opponent is stunned.
Doran's Blade returns life (HP) on hit, allowing trades.

Leona acts as a similar support as Taric, but in a more aggressive way. Leona's ult and her stuns should help Ezreal land his skill shots and his ult much more easily!

Against Other Champions

DIFFUCULTY 9/10
When your against a Graves, his passive which gives him extra armor is going to lower your damge from your mystic shot. As I mentioned above, Ezreal's Mystic Shot is great for harassing and poking enemy ADC's to zone them out. Grave's Smoke Screen also prevents you from landing skillshots, which is extremely non-beneficial for Ezreal. Make sure you dont counter pick yourself!
Simply stay safe, and make sure not to go all in. Save your Arcane Shift for an escape tool, to lower the chance of getting hit by Graves' ult.

DIFFUCULTY 7/10
Dravenis a another champion you need to be careful of. If it's a fairly decent [draven]] I highly suggest you stay safe and freeze the lane, to make sure you dont push the lane and get ganked. His Spinning Axe deals much more damage then your Mystic Shot early game, so make sure you try to keep the distance, and harass him with your mystic shot at maximum range.
When Draven ults you, make sure to arcane shift to the side, rather than the same direction as the ult. This means you have a possibility of dodging the second hit.

DIFFUCULTY 8/10
Caitlyn's range is crazy. She can easily harass you early game, and melt you down. You dont have any abilities to counter her ult, so you have to make sure you dont get harassed too easily.
Try to keep moving about by continuously clicking your mouse pointer. Make sure to keep your range and play safe. If their support's dead or missing, make sure to quickly burst her down with your support so that she doesn't out farm you. Use arcane shift to close the gap, or dodge her Q.

Tips & Tricks

Tip Number 1:

Use Mystic Shot to:

1) Slow enemies as you have Phage
2) Hit a minion when you know you can't get two farms at the same time with basic attacks
3) Harass enemies and zone them out early game
4) Decrease cool down of abilities

Make sure you do not spam your Mystic Shot early game, as you can run on mana extremely low.

Tip Number 2

There's a specific move that I really love to do, to catch people off guard and kill opponents in an instant. When you're in a bush, and you know the enemies are coming, start off with Trueshot Barrage, and then quickly lead it with a Mystic Shot, then an Arcane Shift to the side, or behind them. This quickly melts down the opponent ADCs or APCs, and this can be very useful when you're in the laning phase at Bot lane.

Tip Number 3

Save you're Arcane Shift, for an escaping tool. It comes in really handy, especially when you're ganked by the enemy jungler. If you're sure you can win the fight and you have clear vision of the rivers and bushes, start off with an Arcane Shift, then a Mystic Shot, then a basic attack to harass the enemy support or ADC hard (in laning phase)

Summary

Ezreal requires great concentration when played. You need to learn to use his skill shots, when to use them, and use his passive correctly.

Make sure you use the early advantage of the Trinity Force to get early kills, so that you have that you dont have to worries about the gold when it comes to late game.

Again, this guide is just a simple, brief guide for people who don't bother reading everything, like me :)

Obviously this is not the best guide, but its my first time, so I hope you guys liked it :)
