Sup guys. I'm TiuHiikou, an Plat4 main Akali on Top.

She got reworked, I tried A LOT of different stuffs with her, and I think that's the better build to use on her. I'm doing this guide based of my own experience with Akali, AND MY EXPERIENCE ALONE. So, those are the itens that I normally use and also the way I play the matchups. I cant say 100% that u wont get outplayed, because now, Akali is a champion MADE to outplay people by they mistakes...
Is Akali still viable to play? Yes. Before the 9.3 patch, I was able to play any matchup with her, without any problem, now, I feel that Akali is more an counterpick to a champion then a "blind pick". Akali lost her Q sustain, it hurted a lot her lanephase. Champions that poke her too much can be considered counters to her.

Always up to you. But if I have on my game, any hard CC, slow, disable or anything that can make me vunerable, I normally take Mercury, Tenacity is OP, and probably, they'll have an AP champion on their team, If they don't, take Ninja Tabi.

You can also take Sorcerer's shoes. But, I think thats too risky. Again, it's up to you.

Core Items

This Item BY ITSELF is your powerspike...

After that, you can take an Zhonya, Morello, and Liandry.

Your LAST ITEM is the most important.

If the enemy team is all AD, you can go for armor, Guardian Angel.
If the enemy team have an strong AP, you can go for magic Resist, Spirit Visage(, Hextec and Ravenous Hunter and also, is good to have some health, right?)

In case you're on Snowball, you can go for Lich Bane, up to you.

I do like the Morello, because eventually, the ADC will build some Lifesteal. Thinking about that, I think that Morello is an Core item for Akali. Also, magic pen is a good add for an AP assassin.

You need to know how to build situationally...

Optimal Runes

Let me take you over my process for picking those runes and WHY I took them insted others.

Fleet Footwork:
That's your main sustain now. Since Akali's Q is nerfed, the way you'll have to heal some health is by AA with Fleet.
3 - 60 based on LVL (plus 30% AP and AD ratio)

Up to you, I like to TF as Akali when needed, also, as you dont have that much sustain anymore, is good to have Triumph, since u dont heal an massive amount of health anymore, in a teamfight, this will help you with survivability.

Legend: Tenacity:
Since Akali is an Assassin, tenacity is your best friend, you can choose any of the stats on this section, but, i like to go with tenacity, because it will help me with any kind of CC, slow, stuns, snares etc...

Coup de Grace:
Again, up to youm I preffer this one instead of the other two, since I'll most likely build some tankness, deal damage to target with less health than me is a good thing.

Sudden Impact:
Have and great sinergy with Akali's Twilight Shroud and Perfect Execution. When you dash on the enemy with your Perfect Execution, this effect become active, also, when you get invisible, this also active.

Ravenous Hunter:
This is Akali's best friend, both walk side by side... It have an awsome sinergy with Hectec Gunblade and Spirit Visage. It will Heal for 2.5% (+ 2.5% per Bounty Hunter stack) of the damage dealt by your abilities, on-hit effects and items. Now, as you cant heal so much cuz Akali Q is nerfed, in my opinion, thats needed. If you want, you also can go with Ultimate Hunter. Up to you

About her Matchups.

Now, Akali is more an assassin than before. She's reworked to be agressive.

Almost all the matchups are skill based. U need to pay attention to your enemy skills and take advantage of it. Be aware, you can ace the whole team if u play a tf in the right way.

Most of akali's damage come of her passive proc, If u can use it all the times, do it.

Quick tips:

1 - Your Q is your main source of damage(without the second part of ult), also, your clearwave, you'll need to be smart using it.
2 - You have a GIANT mobility and can easily escape from ganks. Your R can pass throw walls and your E too. Try to use your W and E combo, thats a nice way to get away from a gank and come back to follow up.
3 - You have an micro stun on your first R. On the second an mission health damage base, U can also use it to microstun and execute ppl.
4 - Don't get cocky. Akali is still really squishy, if u try to dive someone then can still see you, be careful.
