Hello there. My name is Armindas. This is my first Mobafire guide. At this very day i will be sharing some great informations about Gangplank The Saltwater Scourge. Gangplank is a melee carry. With the right items, there isnt any player not to defeat.

Pros

Critical strike with ability-Parrrley

Ultimate which can be used at area all over the map-Cannon Barrage
Slowing enemies with passive-Grog-Soaked Blade

Passive : Gangplank's basic attacks apply a poison debuff for 3 seconds that can stack up to 3 times. Each stack deals (3 + [1 x level]) magic damage per second and slows the target by 7%.


Gangplank gains extra gold if Parrrley deals a killing blow. This ability can critically strike and applies on-hit effects, including his passive.


Gangplank consumes a large quantity of citrus fruit which removes all crowd control effects on him and heals him.


(Passive): Gangplank's attack damage and movement speed are permanently increased. (Active): Gangplank fires into the air, disabling his passive boost but inspiring himself to gain additional attack damage and movement speed, with nearby allied champions receiving half that amount, for 7 seconds.


Ultimate : Gangplank signals his ship to fire upon target area for 7 seconds. Each cannonball deals magic damage to all enemies hit. Enemies caught in the area of this ability are slowed by 25% for 1.25 seconds, with the duration refreshing if one stays in the area.

I am using my masteries as 24/6/0. 24 attack help me lot at early game. 6 defense is usefull at 1v1 fights.

Recomended by me.


It will help you massively at 1v1 fights. It may help when if an opponent is fleeing to catch them. You can use Exhaust when fleeiing from a battle.


This will help you more than Ghost. If you are running from an enemy or multiple enemies you can use Flash to distract them or flashing through trees and high places.

Spells that you can use other than the ones i recomended.


You can use this but it wont be much efficent than Exhaust.


Ghost can be usefull if u cant get away with flash. But Gangplank is a fast champion so he can run. FAST.

Here are some items other than the ones on top which may help

Thornmail : If enemy team is based on ad champions you may use this item
Trinity Force : Usefull all the time. But quite expensive.
Bloodthirster : This may help at early game.
Last Whisper : If enemy is heavly armored this will work.
Banshee's Veil : This will save you from Kartus or Vladimir's ultimates.
Madred's Bloodrazor : Usefull againts enemies whom has lots of health.
Guardian Angel : Looking for some extra protection. This item is the best.

At teamfights, you should start with Raise Morale. This will give buff to all nearby allied champions. Secondly use your ultimate Cannon Barrage. Gangplanks ultimate is awesome at teamfights. It will help your team a lot. Dont forget to use your Exhaust on enemies ad carry or most feeded guy. That will disable them for a while so you can kill another opponent.

Starters
Brawler Gloves or

After first items turn Brawler Gloves into Zeal. Later that get your Ionian Boots of Ludicity. Now we can start making our Infinity Edge. Get B.F. Sword first then complete your Infinity Edge. This item will give you a great attack damage plus nice critical hitting. After that make your Frozen Mallet. Frozen Mallet is a nice item for Gangplank. You can catch a running opponent and later game you will turn its health to attack damage with Atma's Impaler
Now, its time for our Atma's Impaler. Get Cloak of Agility first. Tjem complete your Atma's Impaler. This item gave you armor which will be usefull agains enemy attack damage champions. It gave you critical chance which is nice proc chance to crit with Infinity Edge. Later that it gave you bonus damage from your health. Thats why Atma's Impaler is important for Gangplank.

Get your Cloth Armor and start with wolves.
Then move toward to the blue. You can gang after taking blue buff or continue to the wraiths.

Greater Mark of Desolation
Great usefull on lower armored enemies at early game.


Gives you more attack damage.


Gives extra magic resistance. Get much lower damage AP opponents.


Get more armor for early fights.

While farming try making last hits with Parrrley. Gives you extra gold at every unit killing. If there is a massive enemy minion group far away from you , use Cannon Barrage to clear 'em up.

Gangplank is a great solo top. While playing ranked games dont play Gangplank as jungler. He can be a great bruiser. Try getting items heavly on health. Then get your Atma's Impaler. Now you are the undefeatable pirate.
