Hello there young sir or madam welcome to my not so comprehensive guide to people who wanna play garen. My name on league is ZAPAJ but on here its simply Squat King. In my guide I will take you through what you will need to do to be able play mah nigga Garen and hopefully (if your ranked) pull you out of bronze and into silver where you will need to find a new top lane to play because your probably gonna get bored of him. I myself got out of bronze and into silver playing nothing but Garen "in the top lane" and playing nothing but Udyr and Volibear in the jungle. Now that ive told you a bit about myself lets get going. I myself have been playing since halfway through season 3 and pretty much know most of the ins and outs. I got to play Sion before he was updated. Everything I put down in this Guide is all my opinion and pretty much what ive gone through. This is my first Guide so please dont roast me to hard lol. My spelling and grammar is pretty bad and the language i use is kind of cringe but not really cause in nt a fgt.

tbh its not really much of a difference accept for the endorphin's your brain releases to make you feel like you actually accomplished something with your miserable life then you find out its not much different and actually its practically the same tier just with a different name and you will have to get to Gold 3 to be considered good.

Moar Tank Less problems.

These Runes are pretty basic and really are the foundation for other builds and rune pages. I only use these ones because ive found them to be the most consistent with hitting that Q and gapping it outta there. Also I really cbf buying new runes.

Now the masteries. Like ive said in the notes I use these masteries for both Nasus and Garen. They really are pretty solid. They're only for tanky champions though lol so if you wanna play a full AD Garen your in the wrong build son. (In my opinion only tanky champions really take Grasp of the undying).

Now for this part of the guide im going to give all mah knowledge about this guy. Garen to me is this super ultra fckin big man who takes a shet ton of pre workout before the game and fckin cant feel anything (Not even his legs). With this in mind it will explain mostly why i play the way i play with him. To start off im going to assume you know the basic mechanics of the game. You know farming,freezing lane,warding etc. Alright get ready to take in what im telling you now. When you play Garen you go full tank and never go anything else unless your trolling or your bored. When your laning with him your job is to farm up, Bulk up (Get all your tank items) look for opportunities to teleport into other lanes to make plays/pick up kills take objectives and to pretty much try bully your opponent if hes not completely stomping your cringe a$$. Once all this has been done and you've made it to full build with a decent amount of kills and deaths and you guys are still are at a stalemate your job will now change. now see if you guys cant manage to take the game early and your late game comp isn't looking to good and all of you guys have to rely on your ADC to carry you guys your new role is become a blanket to your Massive Damage Dealer and dont stand at the front leading the charge. I know its sad but its the only way if you dont already have a support who can blanket the ADC. this will help out a lot if your good at body blocking projectiles while keeping a bit of space between your ADC and the enemy.

What is the Q and E strategy?. its when you hit Q run up to the enemy champ auto attack him press E then run away. Pretty self explanatory. Now the thing I dont see Garens do nowadays when executing this mechanically challenging combo is use the bush to their advantage which is stupid because it gives you heaps of benefits and it used to be part of his core game play. First off if they dont have a ward in there it gives you great coverage that leaves your opponent confused and clueless as to what your gonna do next. It stops them from telegraphing your attacks and offers up plenty of opportunities to retreat and go on the defensive or press the attack and be really aggressive.

This chapter is all about the stuff i couldn't find a place to chuck in so its in here lol. Now the thing about other players when they come up against Garen and haven't really dealt with a good one is that they will think as long as they have range or they stay a fair distance away from him this will keep them safe and they can fck around as much as they want. I beg to differ this actually is a weakness that can be exploited. Because of this psychological thinking they will always expect upfront attacks that they can see. There are two ways to get around this you either pull the fakie walk away then flash Q on their a$$ or use that bush and cunningly use it to your advanatage.


THE BUSH
Now the bush is a fairly well known Garen strategy but its fell off so much not many people really expect it. I explain what to do with the bush in my Q and E strategy chapter but the thing I didnt say in there is that 1 ward in the bush your using and it loses all of its benefits.

FAKIE FLASH Q
This ones an oldie but a goldie. It pretty much explains itself but the thing that determines whether or not its successful or not is how close you ended up next to him. Are you clicking on him and not on a minion. Are you being blocked by a minion or something. If there are no minions blocking you and he ran up thinking you were running away and you flashed just as he got in range and instantly Q'd his a$$ you will have been successful.

not allowed to flame with this champ because it makes you a btch if you do
