Anivia Passive Ability
Introduction
This is my updated mobafire-guide, I come from Holland so dont blame this guide for it's bad english ;).
This guide is about Anivia, she's an amazing mage with a stun, aoe slow, high burst at early levels and one of the best passives in this game. I played many games as her and in this guide I will tell you all the tricks you can do with her...
One tip: GO MID LANE, mid lane is your lane so be sure to get that lane!
In this section I will explain why I have chosen these summoner spells, and which summoner spells you can use.
This summoner spell is the best in this game, it allows you to catch up and place a wall, escape and you can easily get over a wall. Since Anivia has no escape abilities, except for a slow/stun you really need flash!
Ignite is one of the most picked summoner spells for a mage, and for a reason. Ignite will help you to finish off those enemies who run away with a little health. Just use it whenever you want to burst someone down.
This is a useful spell, but I dont like it that much on Anivia. If you really need this, take it instead of ghost but be sure to get your boots early on!
Since Anivia isnt really fast, actually the slowest champ in the whole game, this spell will defineatly help you. I Prefer ingnite over ghost, but if you aren't a fan of ignite, choose this.
Can be usefull because Anivia is very slow! But I think it belongs more to a AD-carry because you can backdoor with this spell, but a backdooring Anivia isnt that fearful...
Not really useful since you have mana regen runes and masteries, and your goal is to get blue buff as often as possible. If you constantly run out of mana, you might get this spell.
All the other spells are self-explanatory bad:
Surge - you arent a auto attack champion
smite - you arent a jungler!
etc..
etc...
Best choices:

Other POSSIBLE options:

IF YOU TAKE THIS I WILL KILL YOU - spells!:

I've found out that this rune set-up works best for me. I have chosen these runes because:

Greater Seal of Replenishment, I've chosen these runes because these are just the best seals for her. you really need the mana regen early game and these will definately help you out!

This is in my opinion one of the best passives if you know how to ´use´ it. If you are in a teamfight dont be afraid to die if this passive is up, if they kill you and you transfer in an egg, the enemy will switch targets and dont attack you, so you have 2 lives!
In the early levels you can also be aggresive, because since you are in mid lane they wont do enough damage yet to kill your egg...

With this skillshot you can deal DOUBLE damage: If you let the shard fly through the enemy and then detonate it--> double damage ;). It will stun at the detonate and that's why we take it at level 1.

This is your main damage spell! If you are level 3 and have this at level 2 it will deal insane damage if the target is iced. Only use this spell after you hit an enemy with flash frost or glacial storm because only then it will double damage.

Your crowd control spell. If you use it in the jungle you can block whole paths and seperate whole teams, try to use this efficiently and PLEASE dont be hatefull with this and block your ALLIES escapepath -_-. note that if you put this wall over someone he will be pushed away, so try to put this wall over yourself to make more distance if you are fleeing. (pics are coming soon)

Very useful spell to set up your frostbite or just to damage them. You even reduce attack speed! do you want more??
This is my skill sequence,
I've taken

In this chapter I'll discuss how to play anivia in the early/mid game IN THE MID-LANE!:
Your auto attack is slow and doesnt deal much damage so its pretty difficult to last hit, you must train this and just play many games! When you reach level 6 be sure to grab blue buff and spam your
Glacial Storm under these badass minions, they will disappear like butter in the sun ;).
Since you arent the best minion farmer till you reach level 6 you can focus on trying to kill champions :). If you reach level 2/3 you can harass really efficiently! If you hit with your
Flash Frost and you stunned your enemy, get up close and fire your
Frostbite right at them! This will mostly get your enemy at half health: if they stay you can kill them and if they go back you will outlevel them ;). You can take some risk because you still have your passive up. Just be sure that you dont are in range of the turret when you become an egg ;).
Farming minions:

In this stage of the game you can easily kill people:
Put your
Glacial Storm under them, then hit them with
Frostbite so you will do double damage. Put a wall in the direction they want to escape so they must stay in your ulti. Now hit your
Flash Frost while they still try to get out of your
Glacial Storm so that they are stunned in it --> kill!!.
You can only do this successfully if you have the blue buff, so as soon as you get lvl 6 go out for that blue buff (maybe ask a teammate to help you) and go kill someone ;).
Put your

You can only do this successfully if you have the blue buff, so as soon as you get lvl 6 go out for that blue buff (maybe ask a teammate to help you) and go kill someone ;).
In this stage try to farm up with your
Glacial Storm (try to get the blue buff), if you see the chance to kill someone DO IT, don’t hesitate and use the combo described at the early-mid game. If you are doing well you might consider to buy a
Mejai's Soulstealer. But I am not a big fan of these snowball items.

In this stage of the game the big team fights have arrived! It's your role to have that blue buff and constantly damage with your special! Seperate the team with a nice placed wall. Now try to kill the carry, hit him with
Flash Frost for the stun and then fire a Frost Bite, at the end of the team fight you have a kill and some assist because of your
Glacial Storm ;). Happy teamfighting!

In this section I will discuss the main build and some situational items.
or
Doran's Ring:
I usually start off with a
Doran's Ring for the early game power and the life. I really love the 100 health, the 10 AP will make your early game AP very high AND the mana regen fits perfect with your runes and masteries.
Boots & 3x
Health Potions:
Get this item if youre laning against someone who hevily relies on skillshots, for example
Gragas,
Brand or
Karthus. The 3
Health Potions will help you to stay in lane and resist some harassment.
Boots:
If you've bought this as your starting item skip this (dont buy it twice XD) but if you have gone for the
Doran's Ring first I really recommend getting this boots ASAP. It is always handy when you are moving a lot faster!
Ruby Crystal:
You need to get all 3 of the items above, but I like this the most after your boots, it will grant you some nice survability while you do still quite a lot of damage
Sapphire Crystal:
If you can afford this TOO after your first recall, you are doing really good. Usually I get this a little bit later but it will give you some nice mana and you can transfer it into a Catalyst the protector which is your goal.
Catalyst the Protector
Catalyst the Protector:
Will give you some nice HP and mana but mostly it gives you a nice PASSIVE, every time you lvl up you will receive an amount of HP and Mana, so try to get this ASAP after your boots.
Blasting Wand:
Now you've got some mana and health, let's build some damage. This item is pretty straight-forward: Ability Power!
So, you've created your base, now build them into these items.
Sorcerer's Shoes:
Giving the movement speed any bird wants AND a nice passive which will give you magic penetration which is also nice in combination with your runes and masteries.
Rod of Ages :
next is the
Rod of Ages, turn your Catalyst the Protector into this, it will give you life, mana AND ap! just all what Anivia needs! If you get this item this early it will even build some more!!
Rabadon's Deathcap :
Now build THE item for any caster, it gives you A LOT more ability power and 30!! percentage more AP!!!!!!, with this item you are gonna to hurt.
Void Staff :
Having trouble against some tanky characters?? buy this item and they will MELT!, nice amount of AP and ofcourse 40%!! magic penetration!
NOTE:
If you dont have a really strong tank to play against, you might consider to buy a
Mejai's Soulstealer, only buy this if you think you really dont need the extra magic penetration!.
Banshee's Veil:
Some nice amount of survibility will round up this build.
NOTE:
IF youve got a VERY strong AD team against you, you might want to change the
Banshee's Veil for the
Frozen Heart, it will give you mana, cooldown reduction AND 99!! armor!. If the game is during that long just sell your Dorans ring and buy the
Frozen Heart as a nice extra. This situation will only appear rarely, so this isn't in the main build.

Farming is really easy as Anivia when you hit level 6. Be sure to grab the blue buff and just spam your ulti under the minions, if you feel to you can ALSO use your
Flash Frost on top of that but it isnt really needfull.

Anivia CAN go dual lane but be sure to go with someone in a lane who chan ice enemies, like
Ashe or
Nunu & Willump.I prefer to go mid lane, but if you pair up with someone who can ice enemies, dont take
Flash Frost first but just max Frost Bite immeadeatly. Then if your partner ices an enemy fire your
Frostbite and do double damage ;)! But I still recommend to take the mid lane and follow this guide.
