Hey guys, this is my first guide so feel free to correct any mistakes and give me some advice ;)

I really like to play AP-Midlaners that aren't that usual, like Shaco, Sona or Warwick so i decided to make a little guide for you. I wouldn't recommend playing ranked games with this build as it is really easy to counter and just for fun.

Pros

+High single target burst
+Easy HP recover
+Fun to play
+magical teleport ultimate

Cons

-Mana problems
-very item dependent
-gets poked heavily by most ranged midlaners
-not competitive

Masteries

Nothing Special in Offense here, basically nothing you can do wrong.
As AP Warwick is really Mana hungry and as i usually don't buy Athene's Unholy Grail, I take the 9 points in Utility to make my blue buff last longer. If your jungler can't give you a blue buff (whyever) you better invest these points in defense or go for 30-0-0 maseries.

Runes

I wouldn't recommend making an special AP-Warwick runepage. Your usual AP-Runes should be ok but i think that beside a basic amount of AP, some mana-regeneration and some magic resistance/ armor can be useful.

I'll explain the basic items:

Deathfire Grasp

AP-Warwick is pretty useless without this item as it increases his damage by 20%. This works very well with Infinite Duress and Hungering Strike as both deal magical damage! I don't want to say that you can't fight without this item but it makes it alot easier to kill enemies and it's the main tool to win a lane/game with AP-Warwick.

Rabadon's Deathcap

The more AP you have, the more people you kill. Probably the best source of AP for every midlaner, but i would get first.

Lich Bane

You want more damage? You get more damage! As Infinite Duress will get you in auto-attack range anyways, why not deal some extra damage? You can also use Hunters Call to get one free activation.

Sorcerer's Shoes

As I don't buy Void Staff this is an easy and cheap way to get some magic penetration. In combination with his Blood Scent no enemy will ever escape you. Build it early if you want to be able to poke your lane enemy with your Hungering Strike.

Laning Phase

The Laning Phase is probably the hardest time for you as it is really hard to keep up in cs. Also you don't get to kill an enemy until you have your ulti and even then you will still need to finish your enemy off. This will get a lot easier as soon as you reach your but until then u probably can't do that much as your costs almost half of your mana on level 1. Reaching level 6 and getting your first blue buff will make it a lot easier.

Mid-Game + End-Game

By now you should have reached your which allows you to kill squishy targets with one combo. From now on you should get a couple of kills and build more AP so you can kill the enemy marksman or midlaner really fast. In Teamfights always try to kill the damage dealing enemys ( + + as these target usually don't have high amounts of HP. Try alway to get a blue buff as it helps you really much and will hopefully lead your team to victory ;).
