Hi guys, I've been playing Sona for about 4 seasons now and no matter how many other champions I play I always come back to her. She is one of the easiest supports to play in the game besides Yuumi and it doesn't take much to get good at her. Even though she is very squishy, people always underestimate the amount of damage she can dish out.

Now, the most important part of her kit is understanding her passive, especially the empowered auto attacks. The Q(the blue one) deals a bunch of damage which increases drastically with ap. The W(the green one) is like a less powerful exhaust making the affected enemy deal less damage for a short while which is very useful when you want to save your Adc from an assassin's gank. The E(the purple one) slows enemies, which is pretty straightforward.

Sona can deal a lot of damage and if you catch out a squishy target you can usually deal with them by yourself. Ult-ignite-AA-Q-Empowered AA from Q. This simple combo can be used with flash for a gap closer, usually, because people will not expect a Sona to play this aggressively. This combo can deal about 500 damage maybe even more depending
on how you build her, at level 6. This is more than enough to catch a low-health ADC off guard and secure a kill early on. The element of surprise also plays in our favour here.

For the laneing phase, you want to move around a lot and poke your enemies while avoiding hooks and projectiles. At low levels, you should use W more for the shield than for the heal, and also use your E to help your ADC push, retreat, and dodge things. As for your ult, a good rule of thumb is to hold onto it if you can't use it to secure a kill or stun a bunch of people, never use ult to save yourself because it usually doesn't work given that the stun duration is pretty short. The best-case scenario is in a teamfight where you can use your ult to stun as may people as you can and allow your damage dealers to have at them
