Skills

Blaze Brand's spells light his targets ablaze, dealing 2% of their maximum health as magic damage per second for 4 seconds, for a total of 8%. Monsters take a maximum of 80 damage per second from Blaze. This passive is a little ignite. Use this skill for stun or for burn a target (long range).

Sear Brand launches a fireball forward that deals magic damage to the first enemy it hits. If the target is ablaze, the target will be stunned for 2 seconds. Bust damage skill.

Pillar of Flame After a short delay, Brand blasts a target area, dealing magic damage to enemy units within the area. Units that are ablaze take an additional 25% damage. Good for farming. When a minion is burned, use it to farm others.

Conflagration Brand conjures an instant blast at his target, dealing magic damage to it. If the target is ablaze, the conflagration will also spread to nearby enemies.

Pyroclasm Brand unleashes a devastating torrent of fire to a target that will bounce between enemies, dealing damage each time it bounces. If a target is ablaze, Pyroclasm's next bounce will prioritize champions. It will bounce up to four times for a total of five hits, and can hit the same enemy up to three times. Amazing ultimate in teamfights.

Summoner Spells

Flash: This is hands-down the best summoner spell in the game. Its multitude of uses in a variety of situations make it indispensable as an escape mechanism. This is the first summoner spell pick on all my champs.

Ignite: This spell allows to kill easily an enemy. This spell reduces the effectiveness of heall of the target enemy.

I don't recommend you others spell for Brand. This is without a doubt the best pick on him.

Masteries

21/0/9

These masteries are chosen to optimize Brand damages. Runic affinity allows Brand to preserve blue buff long time.

Runes

MY RUNE PAGE IN GAME

Greater Mark of Insight will give you +8.5 flat Magic Pen. Magic penetration is what makes mages able to deal lots of damage to enemies even when they have Magic Resist.

Greater Seal of Clarity Whenever you play as an AP mid champion that uses mana. These runes will help you fast farming and old champions who push hard the lane (Malzar for exemple)

Glyph of Force These Glyph compliment my quintessences and will gives you AP damages for late game.

Greater Quintessence of Potency give an additional +5 AP per quintessence. So a full set would be 3 of these thus granting you +15 AP at level 1. Combine these and your magic pen marks and you will be able to deal a considerable amount of burst even at level 1

Items

The order of thoses items is optimal, but not necessarily the best in all situations. Feel free to change your itemization on a game-by-game basis. Judge which items you need based on the needs of your team and the strengths of the enemy team composition.

STARTING ITEMS
x2

Boots of Speed allow for faster early game movement which will help you return to your lane faster and will help dodge your opponents attacks and ganks, health and mana potions for lane sustain.

EARLY GAME
Doran's Rings will give a nice boost in health, Ability Power, and mana regen/5. Getting two of these should be able to hold you over in ability power and mana regen until you get your power items and blue buff.

Sorcerers Shoes help you penetrate the base magic resist of most champions. These boots are great for offensive AP carries, which Brand is as he does a lot of damage.

MID GAME

Rylai's Crystal Scepter With your main early game power and regen bought it is time to add some CC and some more health to your kit. Rylai's Crystal Scepter is the item to do that. It provides a 35% slow to enemy movement speed for all single spell damage done to the target.

Rabadon's Deathcap This item grants 140 Ability Power and then has a passive that will increase ability power by 30%. With a Rabadon's Deathcap in your arsenal you should be able to quickly burst down the AD Carries and devastate teamfights. Best part is that the passive will still apply to any more AP items that you buy.

Void Staff This item right will allow you to continue to deal a good amount of damage all game. When you bought this item, you can sell your Sorcerers shoes for Mercury's Treads if you are often focused.

LATE GAME

Zhonya's Hourglass is a very good item for late game on AP carries. You can use full combo in team fight and active this to don't die. After use, you spell cooldowns are end and you can deal damages again.
Will of the Ancients Good pick if you have an AP solo top or jungle, this item will give off an aura that grants your allies 30 AP and 20% spell vamp as well as giving you AP and spellvamp.

Brand Counters

LEBLANC

LeBlanc is a very very powerful and rather frightening snowball caster. The moment she gets a few kills early game she is already above you and can buy the items that will let her 100 to 0 you faster then you can hit the button to Flash. She is an early-mid game champ though so if you can hold out till late game you should hopefully be able to recover. I recommend you farm safely as you can with your spells and don't feeder her you will be more userfull in teamfights later.

KASSADIN

Kassadin is an anti-mage champion that runs on AP. He has a silence, a slow, and an ultimate that allows him to teleport to a location. Like I have said before mobility is Brand's weakness and unfortunately Kassadin has that in his ultimate. You will miss your skills during the course of the game against him and you will get your a** kicked if you are not careful. Harass him before the level6 and wait the teamfight carefull after level6.

TALON

Talon is an AD version of Kassadin. He is an anti-mage champion and is meant to burst and kill squishy targets such as yourself. Harras him before level3. After level 3 be carefull he his dangerous, just farm as u can and try hit him with you range when he farming. If you play good you can old him.

DIANA

Diana is a very deadly, and very tanky champion that if she gets going she can become an unstoppable force and a real pain in the butt to kill. I do not recommend Brand against her.

FIZZ

Some people think Fizz is a danger mid lane. Normaly this champ is a counter of you but I never lost the lane against Fizz. You must don't be affraid and just harass him a lot with your skills and wih the auto attack to outfarm him. After level 6 he is dangerous but if you outfarmed him a lot like I told you and you bought one magic resist item, he will be no danger for you. So this champ is a counter ONLY if you let him farming...

Playing as AP/Mid

Early game you must farm as much as possible, harass your ennemy especially if he is no ranged (Fizz, Talon, Akali, Kassadin) and go to kill when your jungler comes, ganks top or bot lane if you are able and your lane is pushed because its dangerous to stay on pushed mid lane. Look this picture, its show where you are in danger.
