Here's the basis of what this guide is.
Laning:
Poking your enemy laner with your e is essential
Using q to engage or disengage
If you engage with q, follow up with a w and some auto-attacks before using ult
Teamfights:
Your q and w are extremely important because of the crowd control they have, you can single out their carry with a simple q,w,r combo
Roaming:
Engage on the enemy with a q and make sure your allied laner is near for follow up while you w the enemy, if they start to get away you can ult them to finish the job

The example full build is your main build but taking out the nashors and wits end are fine as long as you replace it with something defensive, otherwise you should keep this build(changing boots between ninja tabi and mercury treads depending on who you're facing)

Full build with full stack on this build should put at around 4000hp

max your e then your q, you want to initiate your skirmishes at top with a q followed with a silence, then get some auto attacks in for some extra damage, if they are low enough you can r them for the kill.

teleport: to get back to lane and protect your tower
flash: for getaways
ignite: if you feel that the enemy you're facing in lane cant push a turret very fast then you can feel free to take ignite BUT ONLY IF YOU KNOW WHO YOU'RE FACING IN LANE.

you can come up against some very hard opponents in a ranked game and you should only pick cho'gath if you are confident in your ability to win lane and snowball to help others. pay attention to who you're fighting in lane, if it's someone that cho has trouble with then dont pick him. If the other team has counterpicked you then remember to just poke from behind minions.

Pros:
- tanky but deals damage
- knock up is very useful
- the e negates blinds (e hits but the actual basic attack doesnt)
- feast is an amazing ability with the potential to destroy a fed enemy
Cons:
- very slow
- your q can only help so much
- if you're alone you're screwed

CS is very easy to get as cho'gath because of the e. if you;'re losing lane then eat minions instead of saving it for the champion.

Cho'gath if amazing in team fights with his ability to silence and knockup and slow the entire enemy team. the ult is extremely useful for cleanup

His feast is core to what he is, being giant late game puts sheer fear into the enemies hearts :D
