Introduction

Hi everyone !

My name is Nicolas Anton, I'm the Marksman for Reason Gaming !

Draven is my main since 2 month. For me, he's one of the best AD Carry due to his strenght in lane and in 1v1. He has a huge burst with his ultimate.

I hope you'll enjoy the guide !

Introduction on Draven + pros / cons

Draven is not a random AD carry... because it's his league !

Welcome to the League of Draven.

Draven he's a pretty strong laner, insane damage, good mobility with W, he has a control and a good ultimate to burst or to snipe someone.
Draven is an unique AD carry. His playstyle revolves around his Q : Spinning Axe.
Draven can also chase down easily with Blood Rush and the reset from Spinning Axe. Same to escape. Draven is the second AD carry who has a huge burst : Spinning Axe + Whirling Death. You can also use Whirling Death to secure objectives or to snipe someone.
Stand Aside is good. It's very effective to cancel Jarvan IV Q + E or even to give a good control to catch someone or escape.

Pros

+ High damage in lane
+ High attack speed with W
+ Good mobility with W and refresh from Q
+ Good burst
+ Global ultimate

Cons

- Susceptible to CC
- Always need the W refresh from Q
- No real escape
- Tricky playstyle
- Hard to play

Laning phase

Actually, Draven is the only AD carry who doesn't need his support to last hit under tower. He has Spinning Axe, the extra damages will help you for that.
The lane phase is very important. Draven is the champion you pick to dominate. With his actual passive, farming then killing is the best option. But to do the both, you need the support who will be the best with Draven.

Draven is the best AD Carry against Vayne, he possesses the strenght to match her.

Draven is pretty weak against Varus, as I said, Draven is susceptible to CC. It's hard as Draven to lane against a Leona or Caitlyn / Varus.
Caitlyn has a huge range to face him !

Draven is really good with Janna. Eye of the Storm grants him more AD to deal more damage and to protect him. She can easily protect him during the laning phase or teamfight. Monsoon is a huge heal and a good control to keep Draven safe. Howling Gale and Zephyr are good controls to kite the ennemies with Draven.

Skills

League of Draven
When Draven catches a Spinning Axe, or kills a minion or monster, he gains one stack of Adoration. When Draven kills an enemy champion, he consumes all of his Adoration stacks and gains 50 gold, plus 2 gold per stack consumed. Draven loses half of his Adoration stacks upon death.

This passive is one of the worst passive actually. Just because you need to have many stacks and kill someone to earn many golds. So, you need to be careful and don't suicide when you have many stacks, at this moment, try to take free kills and it's fine.

Spinning Axe
Draven's next attack will deal an extra 45 / 55 / 65 / 75 / 85% of his attack damage as bonus damage. This axe will ricochet off the target high up into the air. If Draven catches it, he automatically readies another Spinning Axe. Draven can have two Spinning Axes at once.

Draven has a tricky playstyle due to his Spinning Axe. It gives an extra damage, it's why Draven deals so much in lane, use it to harass, to get more stacks for your passive and to kill creeps under tower.

Blood Rush
Draven gains 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60% increased Movement Speed for 1.5 seconds and 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% Attack Speed for 3 seconds. The Movement Speed bonus decreases rapidly over its duration. Catching a Spinning Axe will refresh the cooldown of Blood Rush.

Blood Rush is good to chase down ennemies, use Spinning Axe as much as you can to refresh the cooldown of Blood Rush

Stand Aside
Draven throws his axes and deals 70 / 105 / 140 / 175 / 210 (+ .5 per bonus attack damage) physical damage by throwing his axes. Enemies hit are knocked aside and slowed by 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% for 2 seconds.

As Blood Rush, it's useful to chase down people. Slow + movement speed = kill. You can use it to escape or to interrupt ultimates or combos like Shen ultimate or Jarvan IV combo.

Whirling Death
Draven hurls two massive axes dealing 175 / 275 / 375 (+ 1.1 per bonus attack damage) physical damage to each unit struck. Deals 8% less damage per unit hit, down to a minimum of 40%. This resets when Whirling Death changes direction. Whirling Death slowly reverses direction and returns to Draven after striking an enemy champion, or upon reactivation, or upon reaching the boundaries of the map.

Whirling Death is useful to secure objectives or kills. You can even use it to snipe someone, to get farm after a back or to push faster.

Counters

: Fiddlesticks will be a pain in lane. Terrify is the big problem when you're against him. Take cleanse or get a QSS as fast as you can. Fiddlesticks will always use Reap to harass you.

: Leona is one of the champ with the most controls, Shield of Daybreak and Solar Flare. 2 controls to shut you down.

: Caitlyn is not a big counter but her high range allows her to poke you easily.

: Varus can poke you easily with Piercing Arrow and Hail of Arrows, like Caitlyn. And Chain of Corruption will be a pain in teamfight.
