Hiya all, I'm Lol Killz (also known as ILike2Hs at some places :3) and this is my guide for Garen, The Might of Demacia. Before I start i want to point out that this is my first ever guide for any champion, so please be nice :) Right, so when you are reading this guide, you may notice some incorrect spelling, well that is because my first language isn't English, and I'm a bit of a youngster :D, but I'll try the best I can :) NOTE: This guide is NOT for ranked, this is standard gameplay in general with Garen.

All right, some pros and cons about Garen.

Pros:
- One butt kicking machine early game, thanks to dat OP passive
- If building Frozen Mallet as first "primary" item, he will be pretty much ownage, since his Q gives him movement speed and the Frozen Mallet's passive will slow him and you will get the kill fairly easily.

Cons:
- Too dayum sexy.

All right, some of you may look at this guide and think: "What the f*ck is wrong with this guy?", but I have found these ïtems to actually be useful when playing Garen:

Frozen Mallet

First of all, the Frozen Mallet i have found to be very useful, since with Decisive Strike you can pretty much get a really OP slow, plus you get the movement speed in the beginning, so you'll have no problem with catching up your opponent. Unless it's Teemo. Which means you're f*cked.

Warmog's Armor

After the Frozen Mallet, i have chosen to buy the Warmog's Armor. Why? Because with your already overpowered passive Perseverance, you'll get that health regeneration when you have your passive out of cooldown.

Randuin's Omen

Ah, my old friend, the Randuin's Omen. This item is just so epic. Not only does it give 70 armor (which gets a nice bonus with Garen's Courage), but it gives 500 health as well. This item is just so good, that i don't even have words for it. Thank you Riot, eh?

These items are very important for being "OP" with Garen. ALWAYS BUY THEM.

All right, now for some other items that also can guarantee a fun time with Garen.

Ravenous Hydra

A new item for Season 3, the Ravenous Hydra is in my opinion a really great item for Garen. It's passive is really great, and it's active is even more great with a low cooldown :3. Not only does it give 75 attack damage, but it also gives health regeneration and life steal. An overall great item.

Mercurial Scimitar

Also a new item for Season 3, the Mercurial Scimitar is also in my opinion a great item for Garen. It gives magic resistance and attack damage, and with the Randuin's Omen giving the 70 armor, this item can really "balance" the resistances with Garen. I almost always pack this or the Maw of Malmortius with me for the magic resistance. Also a great item.

The Bloodthirster

My old friend. An amazing item, but, and there is always a but, it's kinda useless if you have no attack speed, which a lot of people that play Garen don't bring, in my opinion. That's why i rarely take this item, but if i decide to ditch the other items and take like a Zephyr with me instead, then hells yes, i'll take this item. Great item overall, but not so good with Garen.

The Black Cleaver

Dat Armor Penetration. 'nuff said. It gives pretty much everything you need, however, i find the armor penetration to be the only thing that makes Black Cleaver worth getting, you could as well get a Last Whisper to also get some armor penetration, but then again, the Last Whisper doesn't give the health bonus. I do recommend purchasing it though.

Maw of Malmortius

Kinda similar to the Mercurial Scimitar but more cheap, and it doesn't come with the passive. If you're not getting alot of gold/getting really underfed then definitely buy this. Overall awesome item as well. (I don't know how to spell "definitely" :D)
