No up/downvote, the guide is very well written, but I feel full tank is a very suboptimal way to play Gragas, as it goes against one of his greatest strengths, which is a very high AP scaling. Gragas's kit isn't the greatest for full tank either because he has limited (and unreliable) CC.

Well never played Gragas before, but just the fact that you made such a well written and passionate build on a not so typical build for Gragas deserves a +1 from me! Great BB coding, well written, unique, i love it. And for the build itself I don't see much wrong with it, you could go magic pen marks, some other minor preference disagreements, but looks great otherwise! good job!

While the guide is a tinsy bit on the short side, and there are a few things I feel you should still change, like masteries for example, I am going to upvote this. I have a feeling that this guide how it is right now might not get the best reception, so good luck out there man.

Notes About Your Masteries:

Offensive Tree: I see that you take two points each into Brute Force and Butcher . These will help with your melee farming which is nice I guess, but your missing out on a really key mastery, Summoner's Wrath . Read the description for it. After using Ignite, when the spell is on cooldown you get +5 AD and +5 AP for FREE. I take the 4 points you put into Alacrity and move them into Sorcery. You won't exactly need the attack speed as you are not a auto attack champ and the cooldown reduction helps a lot better so you can farm faster with Q and escape quicker with E. Then, I take a point into Arcane Knowledge as this penetrates the enemy top laners most likely low magic resist so you start to be doing a lot of damage even without a good amount of AP.

Defensive Tree: Keep the 3 points in Hardiness and 2 points in Tough Skin as those are good defensive masteries. But take out the 3 points in Resistance as they are less needed top lane as there are usually mostly AD damage. Plus the point are better spent in other defensive masteries. You already get scaling MR from your runes anyway. Keep the 4 points in Durability and 3 points in Vigor . Also keep the 1 point in Veteran's Scars . But now you use some of the points taken out from Resistance . Put two points in Indomitable as this is a great mastery. TAKE OUT THE 1 POINT IN Bladed Armor as that is so bad as a solo top. This spell will make you take less damage from creeps and monsters ALRIGHT. But their is no reason for this as if the minions attack you, they will take damage and this will automatically push your lane. You don't want to push the lane up too far when you have no idea where the enemy jungler is as you could get ganked and you will have a hard time farming for creeps. Keep the 3 points in Initiator and put 2 points into Honor Guard as this will make you tanker which is which you are trying to become right? Then leave the 1 point in Juggernaut . Your so welcome!

This is an ok guide I guess, but don't you think you should at least include Rod of Ages as an optional item. It provides you with health, mana, and AP so your spells actually do something. I really don't like the whole idea of tank Gragas as I play AP Gragas midlane a lot, but it's your build and guide so whatever. I really don't like your runes at all. Health regen Quints are bad. Also, do you really need the double armor runes? Definitely get the Greater Mark of Magic Penetration. This will make your spells still do something and you have [{Greater Seal of Resilience]] and Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist for tanking damage. Your losing 8 armor for the chance to actually kill something which will give you more gold so you can get tanker even faster. For your tank Gragas build, I think you should combine Sunfire Aegis and Abyssal Mask together. You will do a lot of damage and still be really tanky. Gragas can get items that give AP but also make him tanky. Some items like Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Abyssal Mask, Rod of Ages and Zhonya's Hourglass come to mind. I feel you should generally include AP/Tank items in your main build.

I don't like that you started Doran's Shield. I don't really know any champ who would specifically start with that item. If you want some early armor, get Cloth Armor + 5 potions so you can sustain in lane and tank damage. I'm a little confused on your skill sequence. There is no way you are going to get those expensive items unless you are able to farm, or somehow you spells which do no damage get you a kill top lane. If you have zero AP whatsoever, the enemy laner can just heal your terrible harass all back. If you maxed barrels first, you would be fine as they are a good spell and it can help you farm from long range and faster as its AOE. Max W second because of the damage reduction + mana and also the fact that it gives you an increase in attack damage. This is turn makes your Body Slam hit pretty hard as it scales off of AP AND AD. This in turn makes it pretty strong and less of a reason to have it be maxed second. Maxing E doesn't do anything except upgrade its damage. The cooldown, slow percent, or mana cost doesn't change at all. Q and W are just superior spells to max.

Build: Start with boots + 3 pots or Cloth armor + 5 pots. Then go for doran's shield or Doran's Rings for the health, which in turn makes you tanker and be able to farm as you get AP and the mana reg helps you spam more barrels. If you want, you can go for Rod of Ages and either Chain Vest or Negatron Cloak in between to tank a specific type of damage. Then go for Sunfire Aegis + Abyssal Mask. Next try for the Frozen Heart if you really want it, or maybe Rylai's Crystal Scepter for the slow, or even Warmog's Armor for the crazy health boost.

Full Build: Rod of Ages, Sunfire Aegis, Abyssal Mask, Frozen Heart, and Warmog's Armor. Add Mercury's Treads as your main boots. Ninja Tabi can work well in lane if your up against a strong AD. While I don't really like the idea of tank Gragas, I am a nice guy so I just want to help you out. Just my two cents on the guide... Feel free to mix and match items to change my build anyway you want as I feel it may not be the 100% best build. Have fun!

I like seeing any guide written by a player who obviously loves the champion and puts a lot of thought into their particular build. You've almost got me convinced that I want to play a tanky Gragas, and I don't even own Gragas. Well done
