Introduction
Hello there! (general Kenobi) I'm Rüdy and I'm a plat Vayne main with over 100k mastery Points with her + a few k from Another account. I've been playing Vayne for over a year and have truly tried my best to shift with the meta to make a spot for her to fit in all over. And so far, it has worked. There are Always multiple builds and so on, but the most important thing that you have to understand going into this guide is this: Practice makes perfect. (Especially the range of Condemn). Just because you build the right items does not mean you will win. Getting good at vayne will take time and dedication. I took my time and practiced everyday for 3-4 months with vayne and I'm quite Confident with her now and I still need more practice. I get better everyday and I Believe you will too! Reading this guide will give you a good stepping stone to get into the practice range of being a dominating Vayne who melts her enemies and throws punches from the shadows with Final Hour. |
Pros
+ Ranged Champion + Good Crowd Control with Condemn + Strongest Hypercarry in the game + Highest survivability of all adcs' + Melts Tanks + High Damage Ultimate + Insane mobility + Can make comebacks easily Vayne is the ADC for you if you really want to outplay any champion in the game. In mid-game she starts to speed up, and if you are good enough, you will soon become unstoppable. Vayne is the ADC with the highest potential. She has short AA range but her damage to all champions in the game outweighs that fact by a long shot. (pun not intended) Vayne is one of those champions that you can perform horribly and still come back in lategame with the highest DPS and Damage dealt. Doing a comeback with her however can be difficult and needs focus on what you're doing. Remember that you outscale everyone in the game except for maybe Veigar heh |
Cons
- Squishy - Needs items to be useful - Hard to master - High skill floor - Difficult to farm with early - Among the weakest ADCs' in early - Depends on in teamfights - Hard to master - Short AA range As stated earlier, Vayne is one of the most difficult ADC's to farm with. And mastering how to do so can take time and demotivate anyone from practicing with her. But if you have experience with ADC's you will pick it up rather quickly, just keep in mind that her AA's are a bit weaker at the early levels. Vayne is also one of the most, if not the most difficult ADC in the game. Her kit is heavily put into mechanics and micro managing you animations as well as your positioning. Vayne positions in a way that no other ADC can do so be wary and experiment what you can pull off with her. Just be careful in early as most of her weaknesses lie in the early game. |
Time for the Runes |
This is your Key to the paradise of LP gain. The rest of the runes in the
tree are pretty much standard for any ADC in this season. Only the "major" rune is what differs. This is also great for Vayne with her and her increased effect on from . This gives you more AD as you are running about in the shadows. is also quite standard for ADC's since when it late game you gain so much AD that is so useful (since adcs are key for damage in lategame). Nothing odd here. |
Is an efficient key to have if you are facing champions like Malphite, Rammus, Shyvana etc.. When faced with really heavy tanks this rune might be the better option when you can not burst the tanks down but rather build ats and on-hit builds. As shown in the Items section. |
So let's go over the Mayor thing about items Items like Stormrazor are key for this build to work. It procs both with your tumbe, as well as Rapid Firecannon. That is the core of the build. Utilizing this with your and which grants you invisibility makes the 1st shot out of stealth a garanteed crit. Because of Stormrazor that charges back up during stealth as you are not attacking. After you've built your first 3 core items. ( Stormrazor, Rapid Firecannon and Infinity Edge) you can decide on your own what items you need. Are you lacking damage but have decent ats? Purchase a Bloodthirster or a Guardian Angel for both damage and defense. Or do you need more ats because you need to proc your W and take away their huge amounts of HP from a ? Then get a Blade of the Ruined King! The last 2 items are often situtational and can be adapted differently on what you are good at or bad at. Are you bad at surviving a teamfight or keeping your HP up when dueling a tank? Then purchase a Bloodthirster. |
Flash: Is a great Get Out of Jail Free card. And can be cast to catch up to enemies on fleeing fot. It can also be combined with E to change the direction of impact from the E. (So that the E hits from another angle. Imagine an Insec from . |
Heal: This is standard in this meta as it grants you an escape, catch'up mobility and survivability. It's a great tool to use when either running from enemies, saving your supp from the lethal damage or just pick up some movementspeed. (works well with Celerity |
barrier=30
Barrier: Aslo good for survivability, it protects more than Heal heals but it does not affect any allies and does not give you mobility like Heal does. |
-
Night Hunter: This passive keeps Vayne in a good pace and grants extra damage thanks to Celerity. " Vayne ruthlessly hunts evil-doers, (enemy champions) gaining 30 movement speed when moving toward nearby enemy champions.
-
Tumble (Q): This skill allows Vayne to "dash" in any chosen direction for a short distance. Giving her next AA a slight boost in damage. When combined with Final Hour Vayne is granted invisibility.
- silver bols Silver Bolts (W): Is an incredible skill that is the core of Vayne damage. Every 3rd attack against any enemy, deals bonus TRUE damage based on the target's maximum HP. This is what makes Vayne so great against tanks as well as catching up in the lage game.
-
Condemn (E): This is Vayne only CC skill. But compared to other ADCs' this is a big difference. Vayne is 1 of the 2 ADCs' who have a stun available. When fired, this ability knocks back enemies, and if they collide with terrain they are stunned for a certain duration. Also dealing more damage.
- Final Hour (R): This is also a big core part of Vayne. This ability grants Vayne extra bonus Attack Damage, invisibility during Tumble for 1s and TRIPPLES the effect from Night Hunter
We want to max out Tumble because it's Vayne mayor damage for poke in early, as well as her mobility and survivability in late game. This is also her mayor ability to kite with. We will level upp Condemn last as it does not deal a great amount of damage, and both Tumble and Silver Bolts are prioritized. Condemn does not do a lot of damage and it's cooldown is long so leveling this up early would be a waste. Secondly, we will be maxing our Silver Bolts as the mid-game rolls in. This ability will allow Vayne deal a lot more damage to all champions. At this point of time you will also most likely have more Attack speed and the enemies will most likely also have more HP. And last but definately not least, we will of course level up Final Hour whenever possible. No need to explain that. It should be obvious to why ;) |
This item will allow us to instantly deal high amounts of damage after a Tumble. Great for poke and also great when combined with Rapid Firecannon and chasing down a low HP target. This will also synchronize with Vayne when she exits the stealth created by using Tumble when Final Hour is active. |
This is basic for any ADC out there. Remember, ATS will always increase your DPS. Especially with Vayne and her Silver Bolts. Getting this item second is quite important since having enough gold for Rapid Firecannon in 1 back is hard. So getting the ATS and movementspeed (which Vayne depend on) is important and useful. |
This is where you will be able to dish out real propper damage to any enemy hero. Building this third will allow you to deal insane amounts of damage in a teamfight, as well as for poking. The Rapid Firecannon will also surpass Stormrazor "halt" on crit damage dealt. Only after 30% crit chance do you get to deal a proper 200% crit damage. Before 30% crit chance you will deal 160% crit damage. And after Rapid Firecannon you will deal 200% as well as have extra range when using, Tumble, Fleet Footwork, Silver Bolts. |
This is the Rabadon's Deathcap for ADC's. With this you will 2X your crit chance up to 60%. You will ALSO deal 10%TRUE DAMAGE from your critical hits. This is insane if you e.g critically strike a target with the 3rd proc from Silver Bolts. |
This is just what I like to get when in the really late game. This will ensure that no Zed can win the game by utling you. This is not a guarantee since you can still die and this is just a failsafe if you by mistake die or if you are the first one to fall in a teamfight. This can just like the previous item be exchanged with something else depending on your matchup and situation and what you might need. |
Vayne is an extremely fun champion to play that will help you become better in every aspect of the game except for skillshots. Mastering Vayne will take time and practice and will surely make you tilt now and then. But keep it at! If this guide helpd you, please do leave a comment or vote to help others get help from it as well! I appreciate you taking your time in reading my first guide that I spent a lot of time on and really enjoyed making. I hope this also helps you become a better Vayne main so more people can applaud your amazing plays in the Rift! If you downvote this guide, please be sure to tell me why so that I can improve, just like in LoL where every mistake can be a lesson taught. Happy slaughtering with Vayne! - RÜDY |
