Welcome to my guide for Jax, the ultimate AD carry. It might not be the best build for Jax in the forum, but it is certainly the build I use for all my battles. Let's get started!

Pros & Cons


+ Very OP (Over Powered)
+ Can easily beat AD champions due to
Counter Strike
+ Able to solo Baron at a pretty
early level


- When fighting against CC (Crowd Control)
champions, you have a little disadvantage

+12.06 MR (Again, hard to kill, tankish)

Optional runes

Greater Mark of Attack Speed (9) - Adds 1.7% AS (per), it is put as a optional because it is more likely to help you during early game when you don't have Phantom Dancer yet.

Greater Mark of Desolation (9) - Adds 1.77 armor penetration (per), it is put as a optional because you've already got 10% from Weapon Expertise and 6 from Sunder .

As all AD carries should have this mastery, there aren't much variety to having anymore attack damage it already has given, plus the Greater Mark of Attack Damage and Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage, you would have a total attack damage of: +27.3 AT LEVEL 18.

As an AD Jax you should know how the more AD you have the more armor your ult gives you. This is the reason why we put all 3 on Resistance instead of Hardiness . PLUS, you have your runes to help you, which gives you a total of: +14.69 armor and +18.06 magic resistance.

-Early Game Items-

There are 3 choices of early game items.

1. Doran's Blade (1), help you last hit a lot more easily, also helps you kill enemies a lot faster.

2. Boots of Speed (1) and Health Potion (3), if you believe you can last hit well enough to either solo top or to obtain more CS.

3(Not Recommended Unless Jungling). Cloth Armor (1) and Health Potion (5), the extra armor helps you to defeat strong AD champions who can dominate top lane better than you early game.

-Mid-game Items-

Since you're an AD you should farm faster than many champions, if you farm fast enough, you should have already obtained a Phantom Dancer, but if you farmed not as fast, you should at least have a Berserker's Greaves and a Zeal, a little more later on you need to have a Infinity Edge for damage.

-Late Game Items-

Well, there's not much I can say except that you should have most of the AD items ( Blood Thirster, The Black Cleaver and Last Whisper).

Summoner Spells

These are the recommended summoner spells for you, first of all you might encounter a lot of situations where Leap Strike cannot reach your enemy, but you're so close to killing him/her. This would be where Ghost comes in, giving you the easy kill. Second, it is another great way to escape, helps you out of ganks and team fights when you are low on health. Ignite is a VERY useful summoner spell, because when it is on CD it gives you 5 AD and AP, which both benefits you, and it can also be used as a finishing spell, where your opponent has about 2 bar of health left and he's in his turret range

Optional Summoner Spells

Only take Smite when you're sure that you are going to jungle for your team, if not, don't. Why take Smite? Smite is the summoner spell ALL junglers are going to take. Can I not take Smite if I'm going jungling? Yes, but it would make it rather harder and slower for you.

Why is it optional? It is more used for escaping through walls. We don't use Flash to chase, because we have Leap Strike and Ghost. Flash also has a longer CD time than Ghost.

You can also use Exhaust to kill your enemy a lot faster, that reduction of 10 armor and magic resist on your enemy champion can give Jax such an advantage and you can easily overtake your opponent, but once it is used, it doesn't last long and your opponent can flash away or use ghost. Plus, the CD time is pretty long too.

Tips & Tricks

  • When you're in a team fight, try to stun your enemy champions with Counter Strike before focusing down the squishy AD carries.
  • When farming, try to put Empower in to use to harass your enemy solo top champion while farming creeps.
  • When getting ganked and you don't have a ward to Leap Strike to, run into the closest bush you can find, stay in there until a enemy champion comes, then quickly use Counter Strike and Leap Strike on him/her.
  • When given chance to solo top, always take it.

Jungling Route

This should be the route you follow IF you're going to jungle with Jax. We always start with Ancient Golem to obtain the buff Crest of the Ancient Golem for maximum mana regeneration. Then move on to the wolves and creeps.
