All you fear is high damage & poke, also hard CC.
If you are experienced, you can dodge skill shots.
Just get those E stacks from auto-attacking and make it rain(blood).
Farming is easy with refunds on E when killing 1 or 2+ enemies(minions, champs, etc.) especially when you get Hurricane.
Use your ult wisely, you may want to save it to protect your support from dying, unless you are premades.

Sumonners subtitutions: instead of heal: barrier, ghost, cleanse, exhaust.

Everything except Flash, Hurricane and BOTRK depends on many factors (ally-enemy team composition, how fed people are, how people are playing etc.) and can be adjusted accordingly and the way you feel more comfortable. At the end of the day, everything depends how you play.

I've tried different things on kalista, going full damage seemed to work best, also if you want to get S rank, you will need good amount of kills.
Building tanky and/or lots of lifesteal, you may survive longer, but your kill potential is lowered by a good amount.
