Taric
Taric and Kassadin are a good duo just like Taric and Master Yi. It isn't necessary to use funnel strats, this combo is going to become strong in the mid-late game when teamfights start to occur.

Introduction
Actually I play LoL from Season 7 and now I am Silver IV.Although I am low rank I think I can be helpful to at least the beginners of playing some champs. My playstyles are Jungle and MID. I play in EUNE and I am Bulgarian, so if I have some mistakes in the article feel free to comment.
I hope you enjoy my champion guides. :)
They are finally here! The new runes invade League's world! Let's start with the main path - Precision. I see some builds using Domination as a main path. But as I said earlier, this is my look for this build.
|
So at place 1 I choose FLEETFOOTWORK. I think the effect of that mastery in some ways is like Arcane Comet. Both deal magic damage to opponents, but the plus of Summon Aery is the effect of shielding a teammate.I think the laning will be easier with an ability like this. In my opinion Phase Rush is a little bit useless in Kassadin's case, because of his R. |
Let's continue with 2nd rune of Sorcery. Why I chose Nimbus Cloak? Kassadin's Ultimate has a very short cooldown, so if you chase an enemy, this MS after casting your R will be very useful.
I thing Nullifying Orb is a bit useless in case of that Kassadin absorbs damage after using his Q. Manaflow Band is sometimes a good opportunity too. Hitting enemy champions with a spell grants 25 maximum mana, up to 250 mana. Upon earning 250 mana, Manaflow Band restores 1% of your missing mana every 5 seconds. In other situations Nimbus Cloak is better. |
For a 3rd rune I coose Celerity. From this kit of 3 runes they all have cool effects. I was thinking between Absolute Focus and Celerity and I finally chose the 2nd one.
Kassadin is an assassin and the movement speed and the mobility are very important to him. That's why Celerity has the awesome effect to increase every movement boost with 8%. I think that this is completely broken. As we are talking about the late game you may not always be above the 70% HP, even in early laning. In that case Absolute Focus is kinda useless in a big part of the game. BUT, if you have the numbers you need (I mean enough HP), this is the right rune. |
Here comes the 4th rune from Sorcery. In my opinion Gathering Storm is the best choise about Kassadin. He just needs AP. He is a mage and more AP means more OP :) . Everything definitely goes to late game. Increasing AP will help trough the levels, but finally you will have lots of AP and you won't know how The .... I have so much AP.
The effect of Scorch is very cool too. The burst has important role in making hard lane battles. If Kassadin is played on MID with Teleport this rune will be needed. But if if you play with Ignite, Scorch will be kind of useless. Waterwalking is kinda Jungle rune or might be usefull in teambattles. I think this isn't the best choise for Kassadin because he is not a very good teamplay champ. |
Now let's continue with the secondary path - Domination. I chose this one, because except the AP, a little AD is always in favor.
|
The 1st rune from the red path is Eyeball Collection. Actually if you are a little bit weak in the early game, you jut need [control ward]. When you search for enemy wards and destroy them, you gain the so needed AP. this effect is similar to Dark Seal and other items with stack system.
|
The 2nd and last rune is Taste of Blood. When you do the early game I think this is a lot useful when jump for 1v1. There is one more rune that caught my eyes and this is Cheap Shot. I was tempted to choose this one because of its importance in the late game. When that time comes, Kassadin's fight is just spaming the buttons to suceed with your fight and for safing you alive. When Kassadin teleports with R next to the enemy champion he choses E, after that makes everything else in case of dealing more damage.

For the patch 8.23 and after that, the three bonus runes are preferably the ones up.
Anyway you can chose the right runes for your type of gameplay and enjoy the new update!
As I collect enough money, I prefer buiyng AP items with health too. That's why Rod of Ages is one of the best choises for that. Liandry's Torment also does good work.
You can also buy items as Zhonya's Hourglass for extra CDR. As everyone knows, this item has a very useful UNIQUE Active - plasing the champion into Stasis so he is untargetable and invulnerable for 2.5sec, which is awesome, when used in the right moment.
Void Staff is also a good item if you want to deal more damage.
In case that you want big amounts of Mana, Iceborn Gauntlet or build Tear of the Goddess and upgrade it into Archangel's Staff later.
As for the boots, it depends on what the enemy matchup will is like. I mostly buy Ionian Boots of Lucidity. But if you play against an AP Champion, then get Mercury's Treads. Logically, if you play against an AD Champion, then equip yourself with Ninja Tabi.
At the beginning of the game try to farm as much as you can. It is not preferable to make trades/fights, because during the leveling up till 6lvl Kassadin isn't so strong. Also the mid Lane is the most suitable place for 1st gank. That's why you must be careful at the first levels. Of course it happens to get a kill, but this mustn't be your point. Remember - farming and coins are the main purpose!
MID/LATE GAME
When you've already bought at least two items and don't have a negative KDA, you can go visit the other Lanes in case that the jungler has forgotten. You can do that as soon as you become lvl 6, but don't forget that later you will need money and when you leave your lane, you lose money and XP. So it is your choice.
When you have to recall for some reason - low Health/Mana or to buy something, you can after that fast return on the place, where you are needed, because of your Riftwalk. Don't forget that each time when you use it right away after the cooldown is over, the mana cost doubles. That's why I usually use the Ultimate only two times, very rarely a 3rd one.
And now we must talk about team fights. Actually he kinda sucks. The only useful ability is Force Pulse, because of the slowing effect. Of course, when his build is full and you bought all needed items, his damage is decent. But anyway, Kassadin is more likely to chase an enemy and to easily kill it in 1v1.
As for the combos, there is an order of casting them. For example Q interrupts channels, so it is useful to fire it first. Then, when you have a waiting Ultimate and charged E, move toward the enemy with R, then slow them with E and finish the champion with W(you can also use ignite if this is your summoner spell).
The Ultimate of course is one of the best gap closet abilities in the game. But be aware that every time in a row when you use your R the Mana scales x2. That's why you have to be careful of how much Mana do you have.
