Kha'Zix Passive Ability
Introduction
Runes
In my opinion, assassin-style build is the best on Kha'zix due to his kit being so suitable for this role. If the enemy team has a lot of tanks, Kha'zix simply isn't the best pick, though there are ways to compromise in build. The unique thing about my Kha'zix build is the priority I give to Mobility Boots. I often pick it up immediately after, sometimes even before, Stalker's Blade - Warrior due to the synergy it has with the R-evolution.
These are the most core items on Kha'zix. 19 out of 20 games I build these items because they just simply are that good on Kha'zix.
Stalker's Blade - Warrior : This is the go-to jungle item, as it fits very well with the play style of Kha'zix. If you are high-elo and/or want more control-oriented item, Tracker's Knife - Warrior is a great alternative, as it helps tremendously with vision control.
Duskblade of Draktharr : The passive on this item synergizes so well with Kha'zix that this is, in most situations, a must item. It basically is an enhancement onto his passive, and none of the stats it gives is wasteful on Kha'zix.
Youmuu's Ghostblade : Another must-build item for Kha'zix, though I tend to prioritize Duskblade of Draktharr over it. The active is fairly useful for escaping/chasing as well as ganking, and all of the stats are valuable. The out of combat movement speed passive synergizes very well with R-evolution.
Mobility Boots : Like I explained, this is probably the highlight of my build path. My using R-evolution means this becomes essential on Kha'zix. It strengthens ganks by a large margin, as you can close a significantly larger distance unseen out of a bush, as well as providing significant synergy with the R-evolution.
Oracle Lens : Switch to this trinket as soon as possible, maybe even to Sweeping Lens before level 9. While securing vision is very important, it is more important as Kha'zix to deny enemy vision.
Last items generally depend on the enemy team and our team strengths. I like to build Kha'zix as a high-risk, high-reward assassin style, minimizing gold spent on defensive stats, but it is possible to opt for more defensive options here.
Ravenous Hydra : It provides great jungle clear, wave clear, additional burst, and great sustain. My go-to item after all the cores are completed. If you want to strengthen Kha'zix's jungle clear, you can build Tiamat some time during the cores, but I do not recommend it as Kha'zix is not a champion that should be farming extensively.
Mortal Reminder : The highest priority target on the enemy team is the ADC, and it is often Kha'zix's job to eliminate him/her. This is often superior to Lord Dominic's regard for this reason; Kha'zix wants to be targetting and eliminating squishies and not tanks. Grevious wounds is helpful in doing so, as it cuts the enemy ADC's lifesteal/heals received by 40%.
Guardian Angel : The best defensive option for Kha'zix, as it provides AD as well as a passive that is very good on a risk taking champion like Kha'zix. I often take it over Mortal Reminder if the percent armor penetration does not feel necessary.
Maw of Malmortius : If the enemy AP champions are so fed that you get bursted down too quickly to wreck havoc in fights, this will help tremendously. The Lifeline passive provides a huge amount of survivability, and all the stats this item gives is helpful.
Mercurial Scimitar: Kha'zix's biggest weakness is hard CC, as it disables him from being able to assassinate and exposes his squishy body to open fire. Mercurial Scimitar allows Kha'zix to be a little more daring in fights, as it helps Kha'zix fight his greatest enemy.
Trinity Force: Against very squishy teams, if you are very far ahead, Trinity force turns Kha'zix into a monster. With the core build + this, you will literally be one-shotting enemy carries with Q + W + AA. It is very expensive and the components are awkward to build though, so I only take the item when I am snowballing very hard.
Most games I don't build any items outside the ones I've described so far, as there is no need for Kha'zix to build anything else. However, if for example you picked Kha'zix into a tankier enemy team, you may want to look at alternative items.
Tracker's Knife - Warrior : Like I mentioned, if you prioritize vision over chase/burst, this is the jungle item you should pick.
Ninja Tabi/ Mercury's Treads : These are more defensive options for shoes; while they are both great, because my Kha'zix build focuses on maximizing R-evolution potential, I don't ever build them. If you decide to go with the more common Q-evolution, Tabi is great in most cases and Treads are good versus heavy CC/heavy AP.
Black Cleaver : This is a very strong choice against tanky teams, but as I have stressed many times, you should not be picking Kha'zix into tank compositions. If you have, this is the item to go to. Naturally, you will want to opt for tankier build in general, as The Black Cleaver is meant for longer and extended fights. Consider options like Titanic Hydra to help Kha'zix stay in battles longer. You will also probably want to go with the standard Q-evolution to deal more damage in extended fights.
Lord Dominic's Regards : This is a very viable alternative to Mortal Reminder if the enemy tanks are ahead and you have to deal with them. Ideally you shouldn't be worried about the enemy tanks but there will be games where this is more important. Last Whisper in general is an item for dealing with tanks anyways though, and Dominic's won't suddenly let Kha'zix dual an enemy tank, so make your choices wisely.
Edge of Night : A lethality item that falls behind Duskblade of Draktharr and Youmuu's Ghostblade, but it still offers lethality. There is a world in which this is picked over other choices (Against 4 AP team with Corki ADC for example you can build this + Maw of Malmortius + Mercurial Scimitar + Mercury's Treads to become extremely tanky while dealing a lot of damage).
Titanic Hydra : Like I mentioned, good item when you are building the bruiser build. I rarely ever do, so I rarely ever build this item, but the option is there.
Control Ward : As any high-elo player could tell you, vision control is the key to winning games. With Kha'zix, this is especially the case, because he relies heavily on ambushes and sneaky plays.
