Champion Build Guide

Korpurf's Guide to Nasus ft. Daggerkill

By Korpurf
INTRODUCTION

Hello, this is Daggerkill, I am a mono Nasus GM on Solo / Duo and Challenger on Flex, I am between Top 1 and Top 2 in the World with the Champion, and today I came to make a Guide about it, talk about Runes, Builds as Rotate, TF, Late Game etc.

World's Top 1 LolSkill Link:

http://www.lolskill.net/top/skillscore?filterChampion=75&filterPlatform=

I'm here to try to pass some of what I know about Nasus and get rid of that myth that Nasus only works in Low elo, I am living proof of that.

Pros / Cons
PROS

+ Very Strong Champion in Late Game, Mid Game if played Very well in Lane Phase / Early Game

+ Very Damage to the Towers due to their Siphon [Q], very good to do Split Push

+ Champion capable of Charging the Team and if he is -1 due to his Very Strong Late Game

CONS

- Low mobility to reach your target

- Teams with a lot of Group Control (CC) can screw this Champion

- Nasus without Stack is very useless and weak in Late Game
RUNES

RUNES:
RUNE AGAINST "SQUISHY" CHAMPIONS (YASUO, RIVEN, JAX, TRYNDAMERE ...)

Used against Champions "Squishy", always try to abuse 1 Basic Attack when loaded with it, you will cause a reasonable amount of damage to the Enemy will heal and still Stack 5 Life Permanently (Just be careful not to take too much damage while trying do this, watch out for the wave of Minions and always be aware if the Enemy is going to go up in Level and can take 1 more skill and gives you all win, taking into account that you will be with wave recessed this will always happen).

RESOLVE:
Grasp of the Undying
Demolish
Second Wind
Unflinching
PRECISION:
Triumph
Legend: Tenacity

RESOLVE:
WHY Grasp of the Undying?
Grasp allows you to heal substantially mid-fight, and thanks to Nasus's auto-attacking nature from his [Q] Siphon, Grasp will also provide a decent amount of extra damage.

WHY Demolish?
The only option in this tree, the others are not for him, not to mention this Season Barricades you send the base guy and with this Rune you can get many Barricades from the Tower.

Nasus is all about opening the gates. Demolish + [Q] means you're shredding towers in no-time.

WHY Second Wind?
Second Wind is a great sustain rune when playing into difficult match-ups. Like Doran's Shield, it allows you to mitigate a lot of the chip damage you might take.

WHY Unflinching?
Tenacity, one of the best attributes for Nasus and for any Colossus without Mobility, he for not having a dash or advance suffers enough with Group Controls, since he has to walk to the target.

In easy lanes you can take Revitalize to empower you late game [Q] healing.

PRECISION:
WHY Triumph?
In my opinion one of the best Runes of lol for Tanks, a Nasus has 4k HP Kill a guy with over 300 Life will recover 444 Life, it's good to do 2v1 with JG and Top, it's good for TF so you give Assistance in the guys you will revive in the TF.

WHY Legend: Tenacity?
As he had said in the Unflinching, Tenacity is very important to Nasus, you combing Mercury Boot "Legend: Tenacity" + Elixir you reach very high values of Tenacity, a stun does not last even half a second, if the Enemy Team does not have much CC , you can choose the "Legend: Bloodline"

Here there are not many mysteries and CDR to get 10% Rune + 30% of Items, and you switch between Armor and Magic Defense depending on who you are facing.

SITUATIONAL RUNE:
RUNE AGAINST "TANKS" CHAMPIONS (MAOKAI, SION, SHEN, GAREN ...)

There is not much to talk about here, I explained why of each Rune, only new thing would be Mercy Strike, but it has no other viable option without being this, and the Conqueror Rune was changed recently, before being changed it was great for Nasus vs Tanks, you gave 1 a Basic Attack and 1 Q your Q came in dry with Real Damage in the Tank, nowadays it is not so good for Nasus, because you have to Stack 5 hits to start from Good Damage with her, even Nasus resetting Basic Attack with Q, he takes a long time to start taking advantage of the Rune, he is a Champion who will arrive at TF and Killing Adc with 2 to 3 Q, not going to Stackarba Rune all the time, unless he is in a fight against a Tank ( Jax, Riven, Yasuo, Darius) are giving less Damage to you because they are having trouble brokering the Rune in Line Phase too, before Stack in the Minion gave a Hit you and fight the Real Damage in the Abilities, today the Early Game is much better for Nasus against those Champions who used Conqueror
SUMMONER SPELLS
TELEPORT:
Indispensable for Nasus, it allows you to have a safe and quiet Lane, as well as getting you Back Door, Split Push, by putting a big Map pressure.

FLASH:
Used when the Top or the JG Enemy has great pressure to Kill on you Early Game, or when you are not very confident Early Game, example of a Matchup you have a lot of chance to Die Early Game:

Renekton of F and Ignite and JG Lee Sin, great chances of taking an Early gank and dying.

GHOST:
A Spell Late Game, good to use against JG and Top Matchups, with little Kill pressure on you, I really like to use against Gnar, Gangplank, even Karma Top, because with it you get a bigger chase even with them jumping ( Gnar) bou running from you, and Late Game on the TF is the luxury you've cast from Ghost.

It is very good to do OrbWalker, you ult from Ghost and you beat and walk to the future point of the guy, to your escape route, and can deal + Damage.
ITEMS

Nasus can be itemized in many ways, including a melee DPS, tank, or off-tank bruiser.

STARTING ITEMS:
Doran's Shield: Anti Bullying, Regen of Life when taking Hits and Comb with Rune Second Wind.

FIRST LAP BASE:
If on the first lap Base you managed to get Sheen, probably Lane Phase is already yours, because Sheen's Nasus is a mini Power Spike, you're already in a lot of Damage, have CDR and get a lot of Life, Level 6 of Sheen wins from almost everything Top if you change right.

First lap Base if you're all chipped:
If you are going through Gank or have been dead and returned without money to Sheen, get more Armor or Magic Defense and Potions and try Farm.

1 and 2 Turn Base:
As I said the secret of Nasus is CDR, always start with the Items that give CDR, with that you have already closed 30% of CDR in the minimum and must ta with a 5 to 8% of Rune depending on your lvl, now your next step is to close Trinity and Boot.

First Items to be Closed:
Trinity your first big Item to be closed (Do not short Iceborn, Trinity of HP, tons of Damage and much mov speed, you need a lot of mov speed believe), the Boots you toggle between Ninja Tabi if it has much champs of Basic Attack, type a Jax, Yasuo, Adc is a Basic attack, JG is a Xin Zhao, Mercury has very CC, Lissandra Mid, Sion Top, Ezreal Adc of Iceborn etc.

Other Great Items:
The AP is fed? Close the Spirit Visage of the second item, have a Yasuo, Tryndamere or an Adc that Build Critic? Does Randuim decrease 20% Critical Damage, is anyone bursting you? Darius? Garen, Evelynn? Does Sterak's Gage want to run fast? Dead Man's Plate.

Do not have AP in Team Enemy?
Do not have an AP in Team Enemy? It does not make Burning Kindlegem, in its place you do Glacial Shroud that gives 10% of CDR and does Heart if someone has that much Speed Attack type a Jax, Irelia etc, if you do not do Turbo Chemtank to run after them.

Against Healing Champions:
Healing Champions? Fiora is the greatest example of when to buy this Item, it is good against Warwick, Kayn red, Illaoi, Sylas, all that Heals.

Continuous Damage AP Champions (DPS):
Champions who give a lot of damage per second, a classic example that I always do this Item, is against Cassiopeia and Rumble, you end their Damage with this Item, it is good against Singed too, Teemo if I am not mistaken for Syndra the Balls are Damage continue also, ult of Katarina.
ABILITY EXPLANATION & TIPS

TIPS:
* Paying attention to last hitting with Siphoning Strike will have a large impact at the end of a game.

* If you're solo, Spirit Fire is a great way to farm a lane. It can be bad if you're in a lane with 2 and you push too far. Find the right balance between Siphoning Strike last hits and Spirit Fire AoE farming.

* If you have low defenses, people will focus you down even during your Fury of the Sands ultimate. Try buying some survivability items even in your DPS builds.
LANE PHASE / EARLY GAME / MID GAME
In Nasus Lane Phase, always Play safe, even if you are gaining the trade, not to take Gank and Farm more safely, only pull when you are sure that will Kill the two (TOP, JG), Nasus is a very Champion Ganked, because they leave him 1v1 he will almost always win and grow, Nasus's secret to Stack well is to make CDR in Lane Phase to have his Q always available for almost every Minion, so start the items always by CDR, Sheen of the Trinity, Burning Kindlegem of the Spirit Visage, Stinger of the Trinity this is already 30% of CDR, the rest you take with the Runes, and do not forget the buff of Nasus, always try to catch the Catapult that give 12 Stacks, it makes a lot of difference even.

My Nasus focus is always Stack well up to 20 Min and close Trinity, in the 20 Min I shoot by average 550 to 600 in Q with that buff, 20 Min Trinity and Closed Boot you are in your Power Spike, you are insoluble if everything is fine.
MATCHUPS
Difficult matches for Nasus do not have many, when you dominate it you can win practically all, if you get Farm and Build right on each occasion, but usually the most difficult would be Darius ( Darius is good vs Tanks Colossus without Mobility) and Aatrox, but the Aatrox received a nerf now and it is softer this Matchup.
LATE GAME / TEAM FIGHTING
Late Game of Nasus, you always try to stay on the Sides by putting pressure and Splitting with TP available, if you are seeing that your Team is not able to win TF, try to focus on Split, you will always force Team Enemy back to stop you, two At least you'll have to go back if you're strong, this gives time for your Team to breathe and Farm, to stay strong, and sometimes when the guys see you Splitting, they fall into despair and they do Risky plays, try to divge your Team to GG and sometimes bad enough to be played unthought, and end up killing yourself and you taking everything, if your Team will win TF with you, you join.
