Introduction

Welcome to my Lee Sin guide!
Lee Sin is the currently newest champion in League of Legends, but despite this, I have spammed alot of games and tried out different builds just so i could make a guide for everyone here on mobafire.
I am aware this will not be the only Lee Sin guide posted the first day to come, but i highly recommend the build I post here.
I am also aware that my guide will most probably will be ninja-voted down just because someone want their guide on the top, so please try it out before you decide if it is bad or not.

Pros/Cons

Very mobile
High burst
Good sustained damage
Huge arsenal of spells

Squishy
Vulnerable to CC
Focused in teamfights
Blind >.<

Masteries

For the masteries I found the offense tree most viable. Grabbing only Numbleness from the defensive tree, you get some extra survivability. Pretty much standard melee masteries.

Runes

I run with:
Greater Mark of Desolation AD champion, these are vital runes
Greater Seal of Evasion Extra survivability. Energy regeneration might be good as well, but have not tried it.
Greater Glyph of Scaling Cooldown Reduction I use these glyphs for most characters I play, and as with many other champions, these are very good.
Greater Quintessence of Desolation Still an AD champion. You need these!

Items

Start out with the famous Dorians Blade it’s an all-around good item that gives AD, lifesteal and HP. Very viable for any melee champion.
For boots, I think Berserker Greaves is the best choice. With my build you will hit hard, and with more attack speed, your damage will skyrocket from attack speed.
Buy a Vampiric Scepter for more survivability.
After the lifesteal, I found rushing Sheen was a good strategy. Gives you great burst, and burst is what Lee Sin is made for.
After Sheen, complete a Bloodthirster. Gives a large amound of damage, and the last lifesteal you will need. Lee Sin’s aggressive abilities benefit from AD, making Bloodthirster a good choice.
Upgrade your Sheen to a Trinity Force, and thus finishing the core in my build.
The core should be built in the order I have posted here. When it is finished, the rest is kinda up to your opponents.
Guardian Angel Good versus a balanced team with mixed AD/AP.
Thornmail or Randuin’s Omen versus AD heavy team.
Force of Nature versus AP heavy team.
Banshee’s Veil or Quicksilver Sash versus a magic and CC heavy team.
After one or two defensive items (how many depends on how much damage you take) you need more damage and chasing abilities.
Youmuu’s Ghostblade if you have two defensive items or Frozen Mallet if you have one defensive item.
Madred’s Bloodrazor is actually a good item for Lee Sin. He is very good at finishing people off with his “Q” spell, as it deals 10% of your enemy’s missing health in addition to the physical damage. Giving him good damage versus high HP opponents. This item will further increase that damage in addition to giving him attack speed and attack damage.
If you make it as far as late, late game, another Bloodthirster or a Infinity Edge is needed to still deal huge amounts of burst damage.

The testing process

I played three custom games, six ish games versus AI and three normal games. Trying out different ways to build Lee Sin. I used three different builds.
The one I have posted here with attack damage, lifesteal and attack speed.
One HP and some armor/magic resistance.
And an AP powered build focused around your “W” spell with some magic resistance and armor.
My idea of playing as tank with the “W” spell as a key part of the build was not too good. The temporary shield is not designed to shield against huge amounts of damage. And you need a ridiculous amount of AP to make it any good. Practically speaking, it is only good for saving people from a small amount of incoming damage that would usually kill them.
The HP and resistance build was useable, but you are too squishy to act as a tank against than more than two opponents. And your damage output is rather low.
Lee Sin is not a tank after all, but I had to try.
When it comes to DPS Lee Sin, there was several successful builds. I tried a crit build with Phantom Dancer, Infinity Edge, Youmuu’s Ghostblade and Executioner’s Calling. And an attack speed build with items like Phantom Dancer, Sword of the Divine, Madred’s Bloodrazor etc.
However, I found the build I have posted here, with attack damage the best one, as you rely on your spells a lot to deal damage. And pure AD give you a large amount of burst damage with your spells. And I have included some attack speed, so you deal a fine amount of damage even without your spells.

Gameplay and spells

Lee Sin is such a tricky and exciting champion to play as. He got insane mobility and good crowd control (CC). And as his spells are actually two in one spells, you have a huge arsenal of abilities to choose from.
For the spells, max your “Q” spell first. This is your main harass and damage spell. Get one point of “W” at lvl two. This is to increase your mobility and diving capabilities. Grab “E” at lvl four and continue maxing “Q”. Spell prio after lvl four is R->Q->E->W.

Flurry
After Lee Sin uses an ability, his next 2 basic attacks gain 50% Attack Speed and return 10 energy each.
Your passive makes you regenerate energy faster after using a ability. Try to always hit an enemy unit twice after you use one spell.

Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike
Sonic Wave: Lee Sin projects a discordant wave of sound to locate his enemies, dealing physical damage to the first enemy it encounters. If Sonic Wave hits, Lee Sin can cast Resonating Strike for the next 3 seconds.
Resonating Strike: Lee Sin dashes to the enemy hit by Sonic Wave, dealing physical damage plus 10% of their missing health.
Your “Q”spell is you main harass and damage ability. You don’t have to use both parts of it, as the shockwave will do a good amount of damage on hit. Only activate second part of it when “W” is off cooldown or you are sure you can get out again without taking a lot of damage.

Safeguard / Iron Will
Safeguard: Lee Sin rushes towards a target ally, shielding them both from damage. If a shield is broken, half the energy cost is returned. After using Safeguard, Lee Sin can cast Iron Will for the next 3 seconds.
Iron Will: Lee Sin's intense training allows him to thrive in battle. For 5 seconds, Lee Sin gains lifesteal, spell vamp, and armor.
“W” is your second mobility mechanism. You can use it to dash forward or backward to a friendly unit. It also shields the target and yourself, thus giving you the ability to save you teammates lives.
Second part of this ability gives you lifesteal and armor. Use the lifesteal to return HP after a dive or kill.

Tempest / Cripple
Tempest: Lee Sin smashes the ground sending out a shockwave that deals magic damage and reveals enemy units hit. If Tempest hits an enemy, Lee Sin can cast cripple for the next 3 seconds.
Cripple: Lee Sin cripples nearby enemies revealed by Tempest, reducing their Movement and Attack Speed for 4 seconds. Movement and Attack Speed recover gradually over the duration.
“E” Is an AoE damage and slow ability. Great for farming minions and is part of your burst rotation.

Dragon's Rage

Lee Sin performs a powerful roundhouse kick launching his target back, dealing physical damage to the target and any enemies they collide with. Enemies the target collides with are knocked into the air for a short duration.
Your ultimate is a great CC spell. You can use it to kick enemy champions over to you tower, to engage teamfights with sending the enemy tank flying backwards and enemy DPS up in the air or as a part of a dangerous with your “Q” ability for damage.

I have explained how the spells work, now to tell you how to combine them into deadly combos:
“Q” -> ”R” -> ”Q” ->”E” ->”E”. “In for the kill” combo. Deals a massive amount of damage. Anything that survives this with low HP is a hacker…
“Q” -> “Q” -> “E” -> “W”. Simple dive harass that deal a large amount of damage. Uses a lot of energy in a short time, thus you should never use it if you want to kill someone right after.
“Q” -> “Q” -> go around them -> “R”. Kick your opponents over to your tower. Follow them and double-tap “E” to ensure a kill with assist from tower.
There is so many scenarios with so many different combinations to use, but these should give you a clue of what you are capable of. Use your imagination and abuse this insane mobility Lee Sin has.
Remember to try to hit an enemy champion or minion twice after using a ability. This will make sure you have enough energy almost all the time

Summoner spells

Exhaust Great for picking up kills anytime during the game. Might save you life once in a while as well.
Flash Great combo together with your ultimate. Flash behind them, and kick them over to your tower.

You can also use:
Ignite Good for killing enemies that barely got away. 50% reduced healing is also very good.
Cleanse You are vulnerable to CC, and this spell is very handy in many situations.

I don't recommend any other spells. They got their use, but these are much better choices!

Summary

Thank you for reading my guide, and I hope you learned anything from it.
Lee Sin is such a viable champion, some might even call him OP. Enjoy playing as him
