Mach's [SEASON 11] Irelia Guide

Hi my name is MachDawn or as im commonly referred to as Mach. I have loved playing Irelia more than any other champ. She is incredibly fun and entertaining. I have not been playing as long as most Irelia's but I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on the champion. I have been playing since LATE season 8 and have played Irelia since I have begun the game. If you have any questions and want to dm me in game you can add me! I hope this guide helps you and proves to be of use! Now here is my Season 11 Irelia guide.
Pros and Cons
- Very Fun
- Strong Early Game
- Easy to Farm with
- Incredible dueling potential
- Passive easy to abuse

- She is imo very hard to master
- She requires a lot of mastery on the champion to carry games efficiently
- If you mess up your Q damage you could cost yourself your life and lane
- 1 messed up spell in your rotation and you could throw not only a duel but a teamfight
- Playing around your passive is a necessity
- Falls off if the game goes to late
Summoner Spells/Runes
I usually Go the typical TP Flash. Tp provides great map pressure. Flash gives you a strong escape or a good engage. (ENGAGE EXAMPLE BEING FLASH R)

You can Also go Flash Ignite. This is meant for dueling and you will be in favor of winning all to any duels unless they also take ignite.

Lastly TP Ignite. Go these runes if you honestly think you will not lose lane and are confident you can not only solo kill on repeat but also without flash have good TPs that will result in kills or objectives.


Why Conqueror? It provides great sustain in fights and allows you to win duels at a higher more efficient rate.

Why Triumph? It is essential, it provides the 2 v 1 opportunity because of the heal and time it can buy you.

When to take Alacrity, Bloodline, and or tenacity? Alacrity for when you plan on being even and its not a good case for tenacity. Bloodline when you think you will win lane or come out just ahead enough. Tenacity for when the enemy have scary amounts of CC

Why Last Stand? Last Stand is crucial for the 2 v 1 or even the harder 1 v 1s. It allows you to go back in on that sliver of health to get that kill you wouldn't be able to without it.

When to take Inspiration? Take Inspiration when you are in a dueling focused lane. Or generally when you need that large sustain
Why Biscuits and Time Warp? The healing and sustain offered between these two runes is just absurd abuse it.

When to take Resolve? Take Resolve in a very scary matchup. If you get hard counter picked take BONE PLATING, OVERGROWTH for sustain and to help not feed.

When to take Domination? In my opinion Domination should only be used when you WILL 100% win LANE. Use this as a way to snowball harder get super strong and heal into the 3rd dimension.
#1: BORK (Blade of the Ruined King): Really OP for passive and incredible for solo killing. As well the life steal provides very strong sustain in lane.

#2: Triforce/Shieldbow. Yes some other people go other mythics however, I believe that Triforce, AND or Shieldbow are the superior options. Personally I only Shieldbow as of late however I cant say enough how good of an option Triforce really is. Triforce provides great damage output and synergy with other items. While Shieldbow provides amazing sustain and lets you out heal your opponent while also out dps'ing them. Both items go incredibly well with bork may I add.

#3 STERAKS/Rageblade: This provides very strong fighting with not only your passive but abusing BORK as well. On low health you gain a massive shield buying you more time on CDs and life steal. Not only that but it buys your Mid and AD more time to get their combos off assuming they focus the Irelia tearing up their team. HOWEVER, if you go Shieldbow then you of course go Deaths Dance. You cant build Shieldbow and Steraks otherwise it would be super broken. Now Rageblade provides great damage to go along with the on hit passives from the items built after and bork. SO essentially build this if you are going on hit with shieldbow and then go steraks with triforce.

#4/5 BUILD BOTH YOUR 4th and 5th ITEMS BASED OFF THEIR COMPS DAMAGE: if its a full AP comp WITS END and SPIRITS VISAGE. Full AD comp Deaths Dance. If its mixed damage comp DD and WITS END, OR YOU CAN GO RAVENOUS HYDRA. I suggest Rav Hydra if you dont need the armor or mr snowballed and can carry. LASTLY Chempunk Chainsaw of course for if you need heal cut because they have to much healing.

#6 BOOTS: MERCURY TREADS for lots of CC and AP damage, Tabis (Steelcaps) for AD based comps or for help laning, Berserkers Greaves (best used on Full Life Steal Irelia)
Ability Rundowns
P: Your passive allows you to gain magic damage on autos and attack speed per stack gained. At 4 stacks you become very strong in dueling/fighting matters.

Q: Your Q is your primary ability it is what stacks your Passive the fastest and most efficient. It is a good tool to use and combine with E and R for combos. A very strong tool for wave clear as well. Use your Q stacks off minions to quickly gain 4 stacks and farm efficiently.

W: Your W allows you to negate some of the all in damage from the enemy. Use this to help you lose less HP in duels and kill the enemy in safer fashion. This will also be a good tool for ranged farming. As well as ranged poke.

E: Two points stun. Your first click will initiate the ability second will stun anyone in the direct line to the first point. Its always faster when you use E top down. This can be used for again range farming or for setting up kills.

R: Will cause a passive stack like E to appear on enemy champion and will trap them in a certain area while doing AP based damage. Comboing with r in either teamfights or duels is very effective. It is the most efficient way to get a strong all in.
Strong DUELING Combos:
LVL 1: 3-4 Stacks of minions, Q enemy laner and follow with abusive autos

LVL 2: Get 2-3 (More is fine) stacks then E Q Q Auto abuse

LVL 3-5: Get 2-3 (More is fine) stacks then E Q W(Incoming damage) Q Auto Abuse

LVL 6-18: Get 2-3 (Again More is fine) stacks then E Q R Q W Q Auto Abuse


IF you can get 3-5 man ULT then: R Q Q Q E Q Q W Q Autos

Missed ULT or 1-2 man ULT then: R Q Q E Q Q W Q Autos
