Introduction

Hi, i'm Halfgamer. I'm a really fanatic Master Yi player cause he was the first champion I bought. Over the 2 years of experience I have with i've seen alot of strange Yi players. I started playing him AD, as suggested by the countless guides here on Mobafire, then I played him AP, that was of course in Season 2. Since the new update i've come to this conclusion. These ways of Wuju..just don't work anymore. Sure, you can still kick butt with these builds. But I think the true way of Wuju is hiddin within Hybrid Yi.

I hope you enjoy the guide alot, so here we go!

Pros / Cons

Pros
- An annoying champ to lane against.
- Great minion clearing.
- Great mobility.
- Great champion to get Multi-kills.
- One of the best survivabilities in the game!
Cons
- Needs alot of gold to be effective.
- Can get mana problems early game.

Abilities.

Passive: Double Strike
After 7 basic attacks, Master Yi will strike his next target twice (if the first strike doesn't kill the target). The second strike triggers on-hit effects (including Double Strike's attack counter) and can critically strike (including against turrets).
Not a very usefull passive in-lane, but it's usefull during teamfights.
Alpha Strike
Active: Master Yi charges at a target enemy, dealing magic damage to it and up to three other enemies within a small range of the target, with a 50% chance to deal additional damage to minions and monsters. Master Yi is untargetable for Alpha Strike's duration, appearing at the initial target's location after the effect ends.
This makes or breaks a good Yi player, you need to know wich enemy to strike or you might end up dead. And that's not fun. The thing is, if you kill the target you will return back at the initial starting point. If you don't you will end up where the spell ended.
Medidate
Active: Master Yi channels for 5 seconds, gaining increased armor, health regeneration, and magic resistance while channeling. Master Yi also heals at the beginning and end (if it lasts for the full 5 seconds) of the channel.
A great skill for staying in lane or just in the game.
Wuju Style.
Passive: Master Yi has increased attack damage while Wuju Style is off cooldown.

Active: For 10 seconds, Master Yi has increased attack damage equal to double the passive bonus.
This is a nice skill overall, the passive will really hurt people and the active even more! Note that when this skill is on cooldown, you won't get the passive damage.
Highlander

Active: For several seconds, Master Yi gains 40% increased movement speed, increased attack speed, and immunity to movement speed slows (but remains vulnerable to other forms of crowd control). Killing a champion during Highlander will restore all of Master Yi's cooldowns, and each assist during Highlander will restore half of his base cooldowns.
This is why I love him so much, kill a champ, restore cooldowns, activate again and kill another champ!

Items

Starting ItemsPretty obvious.
Buy three of them for that early game sustain we need.

First RecallYou should have around 1400 gold the first time you recall, so let's start building Youmuu's Ghostblade. Of course always buy potions.

Second Recallor We need Guinsoo's anyway. Buy the one you think is the most needed.

Finish Guinsoo'sWhenever you have enough gold, buy it.

Finish Youmuu'sSame as above.

Buy a Zeal. After this we will build Phantom first, as it an essential item.

Finish PhantomYou should only buy Zeal and skip the other parts.

Let's buy another Zeal. Now we will finish Trinity.

Hammer Time!We will skip Sheen and buy this one instead, the slow is nice and again: annoying to the enemy!

Link would be proud. This will add to our health, AP and AD. A great item on all Hybrid champs.

And now Atma's or Executioner's?
Simple: Is that nasty Wukong beating you up? Buy Atma's.
Is he not, buy Executioner's. The thing is: Need more armor, Atma's. Don't need armor, Executioner's.

Teamfights.

What to do?
- First of all: don't engage!
Now i've said that we can take a look at what really to do. After the fight started, and if their are minions Alpha Strike on them. No minions: no Alpha Strike. Unless you want to of course. Activate Highlander and run up to the AD. If you kill him, Hurray! Activate it again.

You are a champ that kills other champs before they even realize what hit them. So use that!
