Introduction

Pantheon, the undisputed champion of the early game, but considered by most as a wet noodle late game. I assure you there are cases where this is true, but this guide will try to introduce you to the manliest and one of the deadliest champions in the League of Legends. We will start with some simple and quite obvious stuff and move on into more complicated discussion later on in the guide. It should be a good read to anybody, whether you are an expert Mantheon player or just bought him on a sale. Mantheon is a 'Victory or Death' champion and is very difficult to play if underfarmed. He is an AD Caster which means he jumps in, does his skills and backs away waiting for cooldowns to come back up. I have seen so many Pantheon players jumping in and going Rambo style and diying right away. Hope this guide helps you out!

Runes

The runes are standard and should not be changed. Move speed Quins are a no brainer and give you a large advantage, especially if you start with any item that is not boots. Flat AD Marks make last hitting easier, harder hitting early game (opportunity to snowball) as well as the fact that Season 3 has been more about HP stacking than Armor stacking like we have seen in previous seasons. Armor and magic resist are quite standard, might be switched to Magic Resist per lvl in a case when you are laning against an AD champion, gives you more magic resist overall.

Masteries

No brainer masteries, I see a lot of guides telling people to pick Frenzy which in my opinion is wrong due to 2 facts. 1: Mantheon does not require any critical strike rating and the build does not include it. 2: Even if you do get a crit (Passive from E), you should not be running around constantly auto attacking, you are not Master Yi and should play like a proper AD caster.

Items

The item set presented above will give you the ultimate damage potantial that Mantheon needs so much. The offtank build that are quite popular DO NOT WORK WELL, that is why Pantheon is considered to be a wet noodle late game, people build him tanky which goes against his nature. The Stats that we are persuing are CDR, ARP and AD. There are the 3 stats that Mantheon needs.

Skill Sequence

First of all, i am a strong believer that using Smart Cast key bindings does give you an advantage. I suggest to bind all your skills except your ultimate to be a smartcast. The reason ultimate should be bound to a normal cast is due to the fact that it is not golobal, thus you have to run just in range it order to use it. By binding other skills to a smart cast, you will be able to get them off faster and icrease your efficiensy. The standard combo should be as follows: Q -> W -> Auto Attack -> E -> Auto Attack -> Q. This will let you utilize your skills to the full potential as well as burst any carry down late game with the build above.

Spells

The spells that I chose for Pantheon are quite obvious and there are no real laternatives except for one. In games when you are up against a burstly team, i reccomend swapping to in order to survive whatever might come at you.

Ranked Play

I want to touch a little bit on ranked play. Mantheon has a little downside which is also his advantage. That is the fact that he is like an assasin. Now the reason I mention that is because in solo queue ranked or not, Mantheon is viable and can perfectly fit well into any team. But if you are planning to play in ranked team play, Mantheon is not a good pick and will be a burden against any skilled team. The reason is that in solo queue teams are less organised which gives a good Mantheon player to snowball and carry the game, but in the team play, you will be just focused down fast and have a warriors death. Nobody will allow you to snowball which is something quite mandatory for Mantheon to be efficient.

Conclusion

Mantheon is not for everyone. He is definately one of the most fun champions out there, but requires a specific brain set to play just like any other champion. The fact that he is and AD Caster makes him a little unique to everybody else. Never give up and practice until you get good. When this champion is played correctly, he can carry any game and is a force to be reckoned with. Please rate and comment this guide, this is my first attempt at a guide for my favorite champion, i welcome all suggestions.
