Summary
This is my first guild and lately I've been in love with Nautilus (and his subterranean skin) :)
Between the 2 builds, AP Tank seems to be better. The only downside between Pure Tank and AP Tank is that the AP build loses 50 MR and 150 Health. Things can be adjusted depending on the player and situation.
For skills, I always go with the hook first and try to get a first blood with my lane buddy. If I'm solo, then of course get the shield and play it safe. Max out the shield first, followed by riptide.
Runes is a tough one to figure out. Ive seen people go for AP points, attack speed, etc, but I live my setup so far. It may change as I experiment but the magic pen, armor, scale MR and move speed is great. This huge guy is certainly going to move at a good speed.
For items, there are lots of great ones out there that benefit the AP Tank role. Again, I am still experimenting with this but this kit seems to be working alright for me.
Offense? You are the big daddy with decent speed here so go initiate for that staggering blow. You could run up or hook them in if you got a buddy and feel the need to. Right after the first hit you wanna hit riptide and keep hitting and chasing. The shield here is going to be great for that extra damage and when they start hitting you. Since you didn't use the hook yet, now is a good time before they are out of reach. Keep at it but play it safe. You can take a hit or 2 from their tower when chasing the enemy champ but should fall back or use the shield to take an extra hit. As for the wicked ult, I like to save it for fleeing champs and squishy ranged champs hiding behind their allies. Hitting the squishy champ further away in their group will cause the others to pop up and your allies to go in for the kill easier.
Suggestions? Please let me know fellow summoners! :)
