Champion Build Guide

The highest ranked players are currently playing jungle and since Kassadin can be very jungle-reliant it disables some of his carry potential. I would recommend to go Everfrost and try to set up ganks.
Supports
High ranked supports roam a lot and in some ways they are similare to junglers. Just be careful so your opponent don't see them and kill them.
Kassadin like to freeze the wave outside his tower or farm under his tower depending on the matchup. Especially pre level 6 when he is vulnerable to ganks. This sets up for great ganks aswell. The bad part is that you won't have any prio.

Generating EXP
Kassadin is one of the best midlaners in the sidelane. Only remember to group for big teamfights around objectives. You can aslo take some of your junglers camps if you have extra time.
Mechanics
Kassadin has a lot of tips and tricks which is good to know. This video explains the most of them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNs-VBZJ2VM&ab_channel=LoLTips
Being tilt-proof and scaling safely
The worst thing you can do as kassadin is to die under your turret while not having teleport. This might be your jungler's fault or unlucky circumstances. This does not mean the end though. Getting back to the game can be through shutdowns or great wave management. A five thousand gold lead 15 min in the game is not the same as five thousand gold lead 35 min into the game. Give up drakes if necessary and focus on yourself, after all you are the carry. In some cases though your adc will need the kills in order to shred through the enemy tanks.
Trading
You want to trade quick and explosive as Kassadin. Move in by R and out by E and Everfrost. With Fleet Footwork many opponents will disrespect your movement speed. Especially if you have 10 stacks on your mejai's soulstealer. Move in when the enemy waste spells on the minion wave. Don't move in if the enemy is moving suspiciously to one side of the lane. There will most likely be an enemy nearby.
If the enemy midlaner freezes the wave outside their turret you must be very careful. If you have your flash you could try to unfreeze it if you know the enemy jungler's position. If you don't have flash or the enemy jungler is nearby you could ask your jungler for help or roam somewhere else.
Ganking help
Move to the oppposite side of where your ally will gank so the enemy move closer to your ally. Hitting your E will often secure a root from Everfrost so don't waste it. If it comes down to a 2v2 in the midlane you will want to burst one of the enemy champions down early. Then you can 2v1 the remaining enemy.
* You can Riftwalk through vision pockets
* Use your W for fasting clearing of wards
* Don't be afraid of clearing wards since you have a great escape with your R.
Ally's wards
* Try to get river control when having junglers like Nunu who needs scuttlers
* Get control of the river side where the next objective is
* Consider purchasing 2 control wards when the enemy has no flash
* Focus on getting your EXP before getting your farm
* Ping if the enemy midlaner is missing
* Try to save your flash
* Tell your jungler that you won't have prio for scuttle
* Don't roam before lv 6
* If the enemy roams it is often more worth to get tower plates than following
1 kill = 300 gold 2 plates = 320 gold (also the minions EXP and gold)
* Go into a sidelane
* Switch to oracle lens after lv 6 so you can roam and flank more easily
* Save your TP for when it is necessary
* Try to stack your dark seal
* Don't die since it will slow you down and remove your stacks
* If your team ints just have patience - you will get your chance to carry
* Take your ally's blue buff or the enemy team's blue buff if you can
* Try to flank, either by Riftwalking behind the enemy team out of vision or by teleporting
* Don't engage first
* Flash + R on enemy backline
Focus order
1. Enemy adc (if you think your burst is enough, otherwise they will just heal up)
2. Enemy midlaner (for example control mages or assassins)
3. Supports or bruisers (sometimes supports will give you mana through your W so you can continue the fight)
4. Tanks (they will have anithealing against you and will CC you so it is not a good idea to focus them)
In the sidelane you can win 1v1 against most champs after level 16. Exceptions are Camille, Aatrox and Renekton.
