Start at the blue buff and make sure you get a good leash. Don't use smite to kill it and go straight to your red buff. By this time you should be level 3. Immediately gank either top or bot, since the walls to stun people against. Be careful against extremely fast clearers, such as Dr. Mundo and Shyvana. They could easily take your red buff before you even get there.

When ganking the top or bottom lane, many players will attempt to hide in a bush in order to break your line of sight. Take advantage of this by removing the fog of war, whether with a ward or a teammate and stun them against the wall. Try to gank from the tri-bush if possible. To gank mid, circle around and drag them towards your mid laner.

The Ancient Golem and Lizard Elder can easily be taken down with Poppy. When Devastating Blow has been maxed out at level 9, it does almost as much as Smite and is off cooldown every 4 seconds. The two buff camps have no magic resist, so the hybrid penetration marks will increase your damage exponentially. Against Baron and Dragon, assistance will be needed, however, only a few characters, such as Cho' Gath and Nunu can out-smite Poppy. Follow up your Devastating Blow with Smite to deal extremely heavy damage to Baron and Dragon.

Depending on what you want, you can either use your ultimate on the support or anyone doing badly and be practically invincible, or you can use your ultimate on high priority targets to assassinate them. Poppy is a god late-game and your main objective is to allow the game to carry on and out-scale the opponent. However, if your team sucks d*ck, or stomps the enemy team, this isn't always possible.

Poppy has no actual sustain, but takes very little damage from jungle camps, so the first 5 potions should be enough to keep you alive early on. However, her clear is rather slow in early levels, so help from your laners would be extremely beneficial. Poppy has good objective control because her Devastating Blow scales off maximum health. Ganks generally require the enemy to have either a lack of wards, or to be at least somewhat pushing. Poppy excels late game so as long as you don't lose too badly early on, you will most likely win. Jungle Poppy is stronger than Top Lane Poppy in my opinion, because Poppy has an extremely weak laning phase, so in order to remove the major weakness simply don't lane.
