Introduction

Hi! My name is Eric, aka as my IGN Eoba. I have been playing Diana since beginning of season 6 and have played over 200 games of Diana in Challenger elo. Why Diana? I think Diana has one of the best 1 vs 1 kits in the game, as well as split pushing with her ROA build(the safest build you can go on Diana if you are starting out!). Primary Path


Conqueror Rune Page

Take conqueror whenever you have an unkillable matchup & against teamcomps.

Presence Of Mind
Take this rune because since they reworked Diana, her mana costs have been increased and her passive no longer gives mana on the third auto attack. Presence of Mind allows Diana to get mana back after a kill or assist.

Legend: Alacrity
This gives Diana more attack speed, letting her stack Conqueror with autoattacks faster. In some scenarios, it TRULY gives you the upper hand in really close 1v1's because you'd have stacked conqeueror a lot faster than the opposing midlaner.

Coupe De Grace
This helps Diana secure those kills against players that are under 40% hp.

Secondary Path


Taste Of Blood
Very useful in laning phase because it gives Diana more sustain in lane. You can even use it to save yourself from last ticks of Ignite by procing it with the first wave of Crescent Strike.

Ravenous Hunter
The best rune for conqueror Diana. This works really well with Pale Cascade and even Moonfall because of the INSANE healing with AOE.

Spells


Crescent Strike



I use this skill to last hit minions against ranged champs(hard matchups) such as . After casting, you can follow up with Lunar Rush to reset its cooldown. I use Crescent Strike on minions so that I can Lunar Rush to it, which brings me closer to the enemy; this makes landing Moonfall easier!

Pale Cascade



This skill can sometimes be learned first lvl 1, as it provides a shield to negate some of the early damage when trying to farm. Each sphere that hits an object does magic damage and gives a shield at the end. Use Pale Cascade with Crescent Strike to wave clear minions faster. Once you've mastered how much shield you get, it's easy to bait people into all inning you with Pale Cascade up.

Lunar Rush



This skill makes Diana dash to enemies. Remember that enemies that are marked with Crescent Strike reset Lunar Rush cdr. You can also use this on minions to get away from enemies. A really good tip would be to remember that Lunar Rush places you BEHIND enemy units, which can easily avoid Last Breath and Rake.

Moonfall



This skill pulls enemy units to Diana and slows their movement speed. Always try to use it when you're positioned in the middle of the teamfights. It also fits with top laners because Moonfall procs Last Breath. A good Diana will use Moonfall to cancel ult casts like Destiny and Stand United.

Doran's ring is really the best start for Diana because it gives her AP for damage and hp for sustain. This helps vs those early matchups against like Katarina or Zed because she's slightly tankier early.

You want to buy a second Doran's ring to make Diana a bit more tankier. Once you've used the hp pots from the first buy of Doran's ring, you can buy a refillable to save gold from buying more hp pots.

2nd Buy Ahead

You want to rush this item because it adds damage to Diana's combo. For example, you can do a quick trade with Crescent Strike + Lunar Rush and then an auto attack which procs magic bolt from hextech revolver.

2nd Buy Behind

Getting an early kindlegem allows Diana to be more tanky with HP but as well as do more damage with her Pale Cascade as it's base off 10% bonus health.

Third Buy

This is Diana's main core item because it proves extra wave clear on the minions. I have found that ever since the nerfs on Diana's passive no longer giving mana back, I've had to rely on protobelt's active to help clear minion waves.

Fourth Buy Vs Healing

Morellonomicon 3000
You want to get this vs insane healing matchups like Vladimir or Sylas mid lane. This should be your 2nd main item as the healing is not as severe that you need to rush it as first item. It also works really well against healing supports like Soraka and Sona. The hp from morellos also synergizes with diana's Pale Cascade because of the % maximum hp bonus damage.

Fourth Buy Vs No Healing

You want to get this item because it gives ap but also slows champions down when you land abilities on them. The slow on the champions will allow you to land auto attacks to get more stacks on conqueror.

Fifth buy prep for zhonyas

You want to get stopwatch just to prepare for zhonyas and to use it before a major teamfight or siege.

Idk. The most unfair item for mages in the games. Click it and you're golden and untargettable for 2.5 seconds.

This build is the most optimal build you can go every game on diana. You have the sorc shoes for magic pent. The protobelt helps you clear minion waves. The morellos applies grievious wounds which reduces healing(really good for season s10 because all people play are senna, yuumi, or raka). The rabadon's deathcap gives diana the AP powerspike she needs to 1 shot the carries in teamfights. The zhonyas makes her untargettable should you engage in teamfights first. The void staff will penetrate magic resist that people build against you.

Summoner Spells

Flash is really good on Diana as you first summoner spell because it helps Diana position in teamfights to land Moonfall and can be used to gap close to enemies. You can also ANIMATION CANCEL on Diana by using E then flash to cancel the animation on hitting the ground.

Teleport is a must because it adds to Diana's roaming presence on the map and it can be used for backdooring turrets! Use this summoner spell against ranged champions as it it's harder to kill them pre 6 on diana.

Ignite is preferred vs melee matchups because diana can easily outrade melee matchups and has a higher kill potential against them.

Game Summary


Early Game


Just try your best to farm, especially with the current meta leading towards more on mages in mid lane. If you're against melee, you should always win trade, just use Crescent Strike, auto attack twice, then Pale Cascade with your 3rd auto attack to maximize damage, while being defensive. If you're against a ranged, just auto the melee minions and use Crescent Strike to last hit the ranged minions. Pale Cascade should only be used to counter the opposing mid laner's poke like Phosphorus Bomb or Wild Cards.

Mid Game


By this time, you should have your core items. You can easily 1 shot squishies who have no magic reset with Crescent Strike, Pale Cascade, Lunar Rush, and Lunar Rush combo.

Late Game


Kill their carries. By late game, you should have Void Staff to help with the magic resist the opposing team has built. Try your best to land Moonfall on as many opponents as you can! If your team can't win teamfights, just keep splitting. Remember that Diana's passive Moonsilver Blade gives her attack speed, so cast an ability BEFORE 3 auto attacks when hitting turrets to make it go down faster! For example, Crescent Strike auto,auto,auto, then Pale Cascade auto, auto, auto!

How To Be A Godly Diana


The only combo I use to 1 shot people. It's Diana's Moonsilver Blade that people underestimate. This is my favorite combo because it doesn't let people see your damage UNTIL you've gone in with Lunar Rush. The combo is like this:
Auto Attack TWO TIMES, Pale Cascade, Crescent Strike, Lunar Rush, and then followed up by the third auto attack to proc Moonsilver Blade.

Whenever you're in skirmishes with other champions, make sure that you are stacking your auto attacks on any target. These targets can be wards, summons(voidling, turrets), and jungle creeps. Try not to use Pale Cascade as it shows diana's full burst.

For split pushing time your lichbane so that every ability cast procs sheen on the turret as well as the Moonsilver Blade to maximize turret damage.DO NOT CAST your Pale Cascade because the cooldown is extra long if diana doesnt proc it on anything. Only use Crescent Strike and Moonfall for splitpushing; with each alternating 3 auto attacks per ability cast.

Diana Animation Cancel:
You can use Moonfall without have to cast the animation of stabbing the ground. All you have to do is Moonfall + Flash. This makes it harder for your opponents to react! You can then follow up with a Crescent Strike + Lunar Rush to gap close.

Laning Phase


IRELIA
One of Diana's worst nightmare. The only way to beat her is by going an alternate build. Essentially you need to get morellos for this matchup and perhaps maybe even get a ninja tabis. If you're really good at dodging her E, then getting Nashor's Tooth wouldn't be too bad to trade with auto attacks.

TALON
This matchup is a skill matchup. All you have to do is rush seekers and nashors tooth. I do think rushing Zhonya's Hourglass is a bit overkill. The armor from seekers alone and the two Doran's Ring should be enough to counter his burst.

Zed
Same with the talon matchup. Only need 2 Doran's Ring and seekers armguard to win the matchup. You can get nashors tooth to do more damage on your auto attacks as well.

LeBlanc
This matchup favours LeBlanc early but favours Diana late game. It's very easy to kill per because of Diana's Pale Cascade which it's aoe hits LeBlanc as she's using Distortion to escape.

Cassiopeia
This is a difficult matchup for Diana. There are a couple of ways to beat Cassiopeia...by playing very passive early and setting up ganks for your jungler. A way to beat her ultimate is to use Lunar Rush before she ulties so that you can go behind her to avoid getting turned into stone.
