Champion Build Guide
When i first made this guide i was D3, Making this guide reminded me how to play the champ correctly and now i have skyrocketed to master tier!
Passive - Clean Cuts: After casting an ability, Xayah's next 3 basic attacks penetrate through all enemies. At the end of their path, a Feather will be left in the ground for 6 seconds. This is the bread and butter of Xayah's Kit. Get used to maximizing the amount of feathers on the ground.
Q - Double Daggers: Xayah throws two feather-blades in quick succession, dealing Attack damage physical damage to all enemies hit and leaving two Feathers on the ground. This is your source of poke in lane phase and damaging champs that out range you, it also allows you to use your passive.
W - Deadly Plumage: Xayah creates a storm of blades for 4 seconds that grants her Attack speed icon bonus attack speed and cause her basic attacks to strike an additional time for 20% damage. If you have a Rakan he will also gain this attack speed buff and gain movement speed off you autoing enemy champs! Using this ability plus lethal tempo rune turns you into a turret and allows you to get a load of feathers out.
E - Bladecaller: Xayah calls all Feathers back to her, dealing physical damage to enemies they pass through, the more feathers, the more damage! This is what seperates the good from the great. Knowing when to call this back is the most important part of Xayah and is why i love this champ so much, you can win teamfights solo with a good E!
R - Featherstorm: Xayah leaps into the air, becoming Playful untargetable for 1.5 seconds, during which she is still able to move, then rains down daggers which deal physical damage and leave behind a line of 5 Feathers. Using ult to dodge extreme CC or a assassins combo is really important! Its also really useful to use Xayah's ult to juggle tower aggro in a dive!
Pros:
- Can solo carry
- Can escape most assassins
- Insane wave clear
- Lots of damage!
- Self Peel and good CC
Cons:
- Immobile
- Ult cooldown is very long
- Bad at chasing
- Low range
- Needs certain supports or isnt as impactful!
Lane Phase:
In lane phase Xayah is quite strong if played correctly!
Xayah forces the enemy botlane to be constantly thinking about the feathers on top of csing, which can deny farm from them or they can get punished by your feathers with a lot of damage.
Level's 1-3:
You want to be shoving the enemy botlane in if possible because getting the level 3 is a spike for you! So getting the wave to bounce back for you to freeze at level 3 is good! Even better if your jungler is pathing bot!
Level's 3-6::
Using Q and E try landing some poke on the enemy adc, also autoing them when possible to get them into lethal range! At 6, it is a huge spike and can almost guarantee a kill. Using W walk up and auto the enemy adc getting feathers behind them, and if you are against any heavy CC support use R to dodge the main CC ability. Use E to root the enemy ADC and severely damage them and finish them off with autos! Obviously this is a very specific case but it is the main way to play Xayah! You will have to adapt to different matchups where this wont work. For example walking up to Draven is a death sentence... Sometimes you will have to play off your supports CC or even just give up lane phase to outscale.
Team fighting:
Team fighting with Xayah is just like any other standard ADC, you play back line and attack whats closest. EXCEPT with the added benefit that you can completely change the outcome of the fight if fighting in a choke point! In team fights the enemy team is most likely not looking out for your feathers especially in lower elo's. Just from autoing the front line you can be damaging their backline. Getting off a lot of feathers then ulting and then getting off more feathers AND THEN pressing E in a choke point is a instant win on a fight! This is the main reason Xayah is in my champ pool!
Again this is specific, and you will sometimes need to use ult to peel for yourself by dodging CC and assassin all in's! But most assassins will wait for you to use your ult. So if they have a fed assassin and you dont have a enchantress support, keep your ult for peel!
Lane Phase:
- Push for level 3
- Use Q and E for poke
- Use ult to dodge main CC
- Play off support if enemy adc is strong!
Team fights:
- Play backline
- Get as many feathers on the ground as possible
- Know when to use your feathers and when not too
- Use ult to self peel against heavy CC tanks or Assasins
Runes stays the same in most cases, taking coup de grace over cutdown vs non tanky teams. Absolute focus and gathering storm secondary is better for more scaling.
- You can Q - auto - E fast to get a unexpected root!
- You can R flash to catch your enemy and catch them off guard!
- Your feathers follow you, therefore you can E flash to change direction of feathers!
- Try not to R - E instantly, get as many feathers on the ground before ulting then after you ult auto 3 more times to maximize E damage!
- Use R to reset tower aggro in a dive!
- Use galeforce with E, like E flashing!
15.2: ldr mortal buffs good
15.3: attack speed cap changed is good
