With this Shen guide you will be playing a Killer Tank. You can take tons of damage but lash out a lot to. With this Shen guide I'll be teaching you how to play Shen the way I do. Which is protecting every player you can and making sure you are still alive. I like to help the ADC and still get kills. The main thing to do when following this guide is DON'T BE SCARED OF DYING. As long as you die for others you did a good job.

Using super tanky runes means you are definitely less likely to die, these runes are expensive and used for pro playing. You want to be a good Shen player when you use these runes.
To be honest, I don't even have all those runes I use mainly health and armor and AP runes.

These Masteries I use because the AP from my runes usually help me and being super tanky and all the masteries work out to help you in the end.

Dorans Shield to start: I use this because it gives me the tanky start I need and a little more defense.
Giants belt X2 I buy these because they build into the warmogs and by now I have enough to buy both.
Warmogs X2 "TWO WARMOGS?!" you may ask yourself and yes. Two this will make you incredibly tanky.
Boots of Speed you need them for extra running but not the whole boots yet
Spirit Visage The extra health and cool down and health regen is gonna be your savior you will tank most damage be able to lash out skill all while regenerating health.
Mercury Treads You need to have that extra tenacity and finish the boots finally
Thornmail if vs a ADC you will need that extra fight back since he could finish you quickly
if NO ADC then just that extra armor xD
Atmas finally, ALL THE STUFF YOU BOUGHT ties up in this item.. this is honestly what makes Shen a blood thirsty killer.

Taunting to save or to kill other champs
ult because it saves people and teleports you
and last but not least the shield least important but most important depending on how you are, I rarely use shield but it can save your life.

Flash to get closer to taunt or just to Q and kill them or to escape.
Ignite to secure the kills or just hurt them a little enough to finish them.

So Follow these and you can get really good, just play as if you are used to Shen, don't stress and take it easy. Shen isn't an easy character and you have to play him to understand. Just don't be stupid and jump into fights if you aren't ready to take them. Most Important! If a teammate is being chased, you go in there and taunt them all so the teammate can get away, even if it costs your life. As Shen your life doesn't matter. Your teammates does.
