Introduction

This is my guide for Graves, the outlaw. He is an amazing and fun AD ranged champion with plenty of tricks up his sleeves.I have recently gone 7/4 and 8/4 with this build on the first two Graves games in my life. This will be a relatively short guide but very imformative and to the point. This is for noobs and pros alike even though I am not the best LoL player but I hope this will help you.

ENJOY!

Runes

Greater mark of desolationGreater Mark of Desolation
greater quintessence of desolationGreater Quintessence of Desolation

We take both of these because this will wreck early game, Hurt tanks and just everyone getting armour because they are sick of you hitting so high, And so we don't need to spend the unnecessary gold on Last Whisperer.

Alternatives

They are none, these are the best marks out there.

Greater Seal of Resilience

We get these for the Early game sustain, last a little longer in teamfights due to your squshiness, and to make their AD carry do a little less damage so you can 1v1 them easier.

Alternatives

Greater Seal of Alacrity
Greater seal of Fortitude

You could also use these two, The attack speed if you just want to hit more and don't care about getting hurt, and the health if you like to have more sustain early game. I would recommend Greater Seal of Resiliencethough.

Greater Glyph of Warding

We also get these for sustain and to stop those Veigar or Brand, you just can't go wrong with these because they should always be magic damage coming from their team

Alternatives

Greater Glyph of Shielding

If you want more dominance late game compared to early game then these are for you, I would still recommend Greater Glyph of Warding to the majority of you.

Greater quintessence of desolationGreater Quintessence of Desolation

See Greater Mark of DesolationGreater Mark of Desolation

Alternatives

Greater Quintessence of Alacrity
Greater Quintessence of Strength

Get these if you think you need more AD or AS, I would still recommend Greater Quintessence of DesolationGreater Quintessence of Desolation.

Masteries

Go for the standard 21/9/0 masteries for an AD Carry, The 21 points in offense needs exhaust and 4 points in attack speed. The 9 other is perference, whether you want them in defense or utility.

Summoner Spells

Exhaust

Flash

I take Flash/exhaust, in my opinion the best offensive and defensive abilities in the game. exhaust for shutting down there AD carries and to get easy 1v1 wins, and flash for that "get out of jail free card" when you make a mistake.

Other viable choices are:

Teleport

This is great for 1v2 lanes and just anytime when a lane is in dire need of help and you want to get there fast.

Ghost

This is for those people who think flash is cheap or just can't seem to use it right.

Ignite

This is a great spell on healers on the the other team, especially Mundo

Bad choices

These are bad choices for Graves, Some are good spells, but not for Graves

The ones I didn't mention are either Dominion or they are so-so.

Skills

Ability Sequence

Graves has a unique set of skills that are very fun to use.

A great passive for someone like Graves. This is very good for checking bushes with your because if you hit someone with it your passive will show up.

This is your main damaging ability and your best for farming. We will max this first.

This is such a fun skill to use, leave your enemies literally in the dust when your running to safety. We will max this last. Chuck it in a teamfight just to confuse your opponents.

This is an amazing attack speed steroid, just like adding a early game and a little more than 2 late game. Use this to get away because it can go through walls.

This is a great damaging ultimate, just like any other. Throw this on a teamfight since it will hurt more than 1 person.

Items

These are the good items for Graves

I take this to start for many reasons, the health damage and even a little lifesteal. Grab 1 or 2 more if you are struggling

I take these for the attack speed and they are the best boots for a carry in my opinion.

I will only take these if the enemy team has a lot of CC, for example or

I will only buy this rarely, if you are truly dominating and you think you will only get kills and never die, then buy this.

this is a great item, the damage for obvious reasons and the lifesteal for more sustain

we get this so we get more attacks in, on top of your E your attack speed is amazing.

we get this for the health, mana, MR, and the great passive.

get this if you need more health but don't think you need the banshees.

If the enemy team has a fed autoattacker then but this item.

we take this to rip through the enemy team's armour and for the damage and attack speed

The icing on the cake, this will make you unstoppable with 80 more attack damage and a little crit.

where to lane?

Graves can play anywhere, solo top, solo mid, sadly he can't jungle, but he excels at bottom lane with a support. I have not played too many games with a support so far but I think that Taric is a good laning partner, any support will do.

Team Work

Stay in the back and shot constantly with your Q and R, throw in your W also when you can. If someone gets low on health E in and start KILLING. You will never initiate so just stay in the back and do damage.
