Introduction

Welcome! I am Yazzel, and I'll be bringing you a support like you've never seen before! Please meet Supporianna (Support Orianna)! This little robot, despite being played as an APC mostly, is actually a beastly support.

With no more things to add, let us begin this journey of Support Domination with SUPPORIANNA!

Pros / Cons

SPACE
SPACE
SPACE
Pros
Supporianna Watches Thee!
+ Can check bushes with Command: Attack.
+ Makes anyone tanky with Command: Protect.
+ Has a speedup/slow.
+ Has a very good basic attack poke.
+ Very mana-efficient shield.
+ Has awesome skins :3

Support Orianna's role is to provide tanky buffs, along with a lot of utility both in a team fight and in lane. She doesn't have to facecheck bushes, and her Command: Protect will give your ADC (or anyone) an armor/MResist buff, if she stays nearby.
Cons
Supporianna Watches Thee!
- Has no form of sustain for her ADC.
- Needs a strong peeler due to the somewhat short range on her spells.
- Very underplayed.
- Has a slightly weak early game.
- A lot of people will want you to go mid.
- Works best with an AoE or hard engage team comp.

Support Orianna is highly underestimated, so many people won't want you to support with her at first. Also, her early game isn't as good as some other supports ( Soraka for example) Her shield's ap scaling is 0.4 (or 40%), which isn't that great.

Even though you don't build AD or AP, this passive will make your auto-attack pokes a bit stronger. Works really well with Spellthief's Edge and Frostfang.

This will be the ability you'll be using to check bushes, and moving your ball pet around with. Get a point early for its utility, but max it last, as only the damage and cooldown will change. You want its utility, not its damage.

For Standard Supporianna, this will be mostly used for the utility, and will be maxed second as it will provide a very strong gap closer, slow and speedup. If you want to play more poke-y and aggressive, you could max this before Command: Protect, but I, personally, prefer maxing Command: Dissonance second.

This is your bread and butter. This spell will give an amazing shield to your allies and also some Armor and MR as long as the ball stays on them. A good Supporianna will know who to throw the ball to next, and will keep it rotating around a teamfight due to its low mana cost, and potentially low cooldown (5.4 sec CD with 40% CDR). It's mana cost will also not increase as you keep leveling it, which is something amazing, remaining at 60 mana through the entire game.
Because
They
ARE BEAST
As APC Orianna, this will be used for both its strong nuke and its utility. But as Supporianna, you'll be focusing only on its utility aspect. Using it to keep enemies in place(ish), or to simply play around with their positioning will be the reasons to use her ult.

UTILITY TREE

Tier 1 - 3 points in Fleet of Foot for better movement speed. 3 points in Meditation to give better mana regen.

Tier 2 - 3 points in Summoner's Insight for lower cooldowns on summoner spells. 1 point in Alchemist for better potions in lane.

Tier 3 - 3 points in Greed for better gold generation. Always appreciated. 1 point in Culinary Master because Orianna is a great cook. Also, the upgraded potions is nice.

Tier 4 - 1 point in Scavenger because FREE GOLD! 1 point in Wealth because FREE GOLD!

Tier 5 - 1 point in Bandit because it gives you even more gold for poking with your basic attacks. 3 points in Intelligence because CDR is nice, and so is the lower cooldown on actives.

Tier 6 - 1 point in Wanderer because it allows for quicker warding, and getting back to lane. If you have to roam, this also helps.

OFFENSE TREE

Tier 1 - 4 points in Sorcery for better CDR.

Tier 2 - 1 point in Expose Weakness , because it allows your team to deal more damage when you use spells to hurt the enemy. 3 points in Mental Force for a nice AP per level.

Tier 3 - 1 point in Arcane Mastery for a nice additional AP. Never too much AP.

Runes

SPACE
SPACE
SPACE
  • Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed: The movement speed really allows Orianna to move around quickly, get in range of her allies, or even run away if necessary. Greater Quintessence of Gold could also be used, but the gold generation isn't as necessary with the introduction of gold generation items in 2014.
    Hello
  • Greater Mark of Magic Penetration: Orianna could always use some magic penetration in order to poke better. You want to help your AD Carry deal damage if you can, just don't go around taking kills. Greater Mark of Armor can also work if you're not looking for much damage, but for a passive lane, instead.
    There
  • Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist: You should be bot, against a support and an AD Carry, which means that the amount of Magic Damage you'll be taking will be quite low. So instead of going for flat Magic Resist, I go for Scaling Magic Resist, which will end up giving me more Magic Resist later on in the game, when Orianna will be facing an AP champion.
    Roboling.
  • Greater Seal of Armor: I take flat armor here because most of the time, I'll be spending against the enemy AD Carry, and I don't want to feed because of a silly mistake, so I counter them as soon as possible by getting some flat Armor instantly.

Summoner Spells

Exhaust has proved to my favorite support summoner spell. It renders the enemy ADC half-useless, or can allow an ally to escape with the correct usage of this summoner spell.

Great tool for escaping, leaping over walls, entering the fight, and so on. Usually a must-have in my summoner spells.
Supporiannas
Very
Happy
Good summoner spell for an even better map awareness. Good choice on Orianna, but if you're going to use it on other lanes/jungle. If not, don't take it, you have Command: Attack for nearby bush checking.
As
The
Robo-Demons
Good spell for a support. Since Orianna has no heals, it can be a good spell to have. It can surprise enemies when used correctly.
They
Really
Are?
Since your ADC should be running Barrier, going for Ignite as a support can be a good choice. It can secure kills, and really negate the enemy from being healed. Good against fighting a sustain support.

This gives a nice mana regeneration passive, along with some AP to help with everything in your kit. This also rewards you for poking with auto-attacks, which Orianna should do a lot, since they're so strong.

The long lasting ward can be very good for long-term vision. If the enemy has Sweeping Lens, be careful to not show them where you placed the ward, so they don't sweep it instantly.

It allows you to bring an extra ward to lane, other than the Stealth Ward. If you want, you can also go with the Sweeping Lens over the Stealth Ward for a more aggressive laning phase.

Two of these. Since Orianna has no heals, it's nice to take some Health Potions in order to avoid recalling every 20 seconds.

This item is a must-buy for Supporianna (unless the jungler wants to take it). It stacks very well with your Command: Protect, giving up to 50 MR, and a shield for around 470 when used together. (Level 5 Command: Protect and at level 18, with no AP on Orianna). This item is godly, and will help your team greatly.

This item gives Orianna a necessary mana regen, along with some really nice CDR, to allow you to throw the ball around, shielding allies and slowing enemies. The MR it gives is also quite nice.

It's the final upgrade of your initial gold generating item. You get a really nice amount of AP, and a good targeted slow for helping peel or allowing you to land skillshots better.

Gives some nice MPen, to give you better poke, along with some AP and HP. This pairs up very well with Rylai's Crystal Scepter, as it makes the burning effect hurt twice as much. It helps shred enemy HP for your team.

The AP this item gives is always appreciated. It also allows you to scout, or help with chasing. The movement speed it gives is very nice, and so is the MR.

Good item against teams with big AD threats. The immunity can also help counter some champions, or save you from others. Not to mention, it gives a ton of AP.

Next, is a list of ADCs who I've found that work best with Supporianna. (Still highly prone to change.)

His Stealth + Command: Protect will give Orianna and Twitch a really strong surprise engage. Together, these two will surely dominate their lane, and cause the enemies to hide under their turrets.

Quinn and Orianna have great laning chemistry. Especially when she's used her ultimate, tag team, which will mean that she'll turn into a super fast melee champion. If she's fighting an enemy, using Command: Dissonance will both speed her up and slow her enemy, as she will be in melee range. Also, you won't have to use Command: Attack to land Command: Shockwave. But when Quinn isn't using her ult, she still recieves great bonuses from Orianna's speedup and shield. Command: Protect paired with Blinding Assault will mean that Quinn can trade with the enemy ADC while taking virtually no damage.

Kog'Maw is very easily killed since he's so squishy, and has close to no escape abilities. Paired with Orianna, you can use your Command: Dissonance to speed him up, either chasing down an enemy, or escaping, and slowing down the incoming enemy if they stand on the Dissonance area. You can also keep his defenses up by using your Command: Protect as soon as he takes a hit. (If you have beast reflexes, then before he's even hit.)

Next, is a list of enemy champions that can give Orianna a hard time. (Still highly prone to change.)

SPACE
SPACE
SPACE
Evelynn will be a problem on Orianna's lane, despite what role she's playing, whether it be jungling or mid. As a jungle, you'll have to be playing defensive, as Stealth Wards won't see her, and Vision Wards will be more expensive and she can kill them, therefore, slowing down your build. But when she's mid, it will mean that she will become one of the game's strongest roamers, leaving her lane undetected, and will practically mean that there will be two people attempting to gank your lane: Evelynn and the jungler.
The
Best
Supporiannas
Although Orianna can turn her ADC into a tanky demon, she cannot do much when she's stunned, or her ADC is. Leona's passive, Sunlight, will also add damage for her ADC, which will mean that you'll be fighting one very bursty enemy.
Are
Able
To
The flamboyant Taric will be a huge pain. He will be giving his ADC a good amount of armor, and something to catch up, like you do. But the worst part is, while you only have a temporal shield, Taric will have a heal. The easiest way to keep him off your case will be to poke him a lot. Keep his health low, or force him to burn his mana.
Make
ADCs
Tanks!
This little yordle is one annoying ADC to fight against. The only way she can be shut down is in the early game, and since that's Support Orianna's weakest point, theres not much you can do. Her late game is one of the best, so you'll have to ask for your jungler to help shut her down.

Supporianna can be fairly easy to play, if you're not using any items, of course. If that's the case, then you're not doing it quite right! Most support items have Active Effects to be used, not just Passive Effects! Nevertheless, there are two things to keep in mind while playing Supporianna:
Supporianna

Of
Robo-Rule #1:
Always keep your pet ball hugging your ADC. (Or in this picture's case, your Soraka) The only exception to this rule is if you're going to poke the enemy, in which case, it's good to have the shield on you to avoid taking too much damage.

Don't follow this rule, and you will soon get your ADC (Or Soraka) killed.

Robo-Rule #2:
Your death is less valuable than your AD Carry's. So if you have to die in order to let your AD Carry escape, THEN DO IT! They will love you for it.
