Mercy

Cutthroat

Talon, The Blade's Shadow
Melee, Assassin, Mage Deleter, Michael Jackson backup dancer, Escape extraordinaire

Why you should play Talon

    1. You are in Bronze,Silver or Gold and wish to make it to Platinum.
    2. You main mid lane and are looking to increase your champion pool.
    3. You are looking to counter AP mid lane champions or Zed.
    4. Many more reasons I can't even list.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Mercy
+++++ Above-Average Wave Clearing.
+++++Can kill an opponent without counterplay.
+++++High gank potential.
+++++Counters a wide variety of mid champions.
Talon is a strong Mid lane assassin. Even though his silence was taken away he can still delete champions with little to no counterplay as well as make his rounds around the rift picking off out of position oppenents. He also counters a wide variety of champions and should definitely be played more often.

Cons

----Very susceptible to CC.
----Needs to do well early.
----Countered easily.
----Squishy.
Though Talon is amazing he is very, VERY susceptible to CC. Getting caught by that Rune Prison or Dark Binding may be the end of you. If you aren't doing well early it is not impossible but it will be difficult to regain momentum. You will find that your combos will leave opponents with JUST enough HP to live. Talon is also very easily countered so avoid picking him if you are first pick in team select or ask to trade with teammates. He is also squishy. He can dish damage but he can't really take.

Runes

Standard Runes

OR(Against Heavy armored team)

Rune Explantion

I feel that out of all the rune pages you'll find for talon that these two pages will suit you for all of your needs. If you are against a regular AP mid take Page 1 it will get the job done. If you are against a tanky team lets say Darius top, Sejuani jungle, Lee Sin or Riven Mid, Lucian and Thresh bot.. well with that comp you may just be screwed but if you find yourself against a heavily armored team you should take page 2

MercyMercy - PASSIVE
Talon's autoattacks deal 10% additional damage to any target that is slowed, stunned, immobilized or suppressed.
Talon's passive is pretty straight forward. It procs off your opponent being slowed, stunned, immobilized or suppressed. So picking him when your team has various forms of cc is ideal.

Noxian Diplomacy - COST: 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60 COOLDOWN: 8 / 7 / 6 / 5 / 4
ACTIVE: Talon's next autoattack within the next 6 seconds deals bonus physical damage.

If the target is a champion they will also bleed for 6 seconds, granting sight of their location to Talon and taking additional physical damage each second for the duration.

Talon's Q ability. This should be used to finish off minions while farming and also should be used directly after using Cutthroat on an enemy champion. It also grants vision so that pesky Akali or Evelynn wont be getting away so easily.

Rake - RANGE: 600 COST: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 COOLDOWN: 10ACTIVE: Talon sends out a volley of daggers in a cone that then quickly return back to him, dealing physical damage to any enemies it passes through. Additionally the enemy is Slow icon slowed for 2 seconds, refreshing the duration of the slow if they are hit twice. Each enemy can only be damaged once at the start of the ability and once at the end.

This is your farming and poking skill. It is also your "You can't run from me" move. You should not just be throwing this move out in lane. You will quickly find yourself out of mana. You should use this move when your opponent is going to last hit to get some damage in before all inning on them or you should use it when you can get more than one last hit on minions by raking them. You should not Rake a full hp minion wave. Self explanatory but I see people do it all the time.

* If you are fighting up close and you find it hard to hit with the initial rake at least try to hit the rake OR move around your enemy and make the return of the rake hit them.

CutthroatCutthroat - RANGE: 700 COST: 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 COOLDOWN: 18 / 16 / 14 / 12 / 10
ACTIVE: Talon blinks behind his target, Slow icon slowing them for 99% for 0.25 seconds and amplifying his damage against that target for 3 seconds.
]This move is useful for 4 things. It is used to amplify damage on your opponents, Slow your opponents, Close the between you and your opponents or escape from your opponents. It can be used to E to minions or jungle creeps to escape.

Shadow Assault - COST: 80 / 90 / 100 COOLDOWN: 75 / 65 / 55
ACTIVE: Talon disperses blades outwards in a 500-radius ring and gains stealth for up to 2.5 seconds while gaining 40% movement speed. When Talon emerges from stealth, the blades converge on his location. When the ring of blades expands and contracts, enemies hit receive physical damage. Each enemy can only be damaged once at the start of the ability and once at the end.
This is Talon's ultimate move. Along with dealing ton's of AOE damage you get a few seconds to set your escape route whilst killing your target. by the time his blade disperse most of the time you should already be running to safety. The retracting blades should be what finishes off your opponent.

* You can also start a fight with your ultimate. If you're ahead and if you are you should be dealing crazy damage you should ult from a spot where your enemy can't see in the shroud and then Cutthroat then Noxian Diplomacy then Rake in the direction you opponent runs. That should kill them.

ITEM BUILD ORDERS

Starting items 1

This starting set is good for when against no mana champions like Akali, Katarina or Riven. You should start this also if you are new to Talon and are having trouble sustaining yourself in lane.

Starting Items 2

This is good when you are against a squishy mid ap such as Anivia or Veigar and sometimes Ahri. OR if you are on Rune page 2 (see above runes)

First Back

This set should cost you 1045g if you are fighting someone with stealh mid you should opt to buy a Vision Ward instead. If you have enough and are ahead already you should buy The Brutalizer instead.

General build

You should always build these on talon. The movement speed, damage, and armor penetration he gains is everything you need to be a top notch assassin.

!The SIXTH Item!

Talon's sixth Item is situational. Depending on what's happening in the game right now you have a few different choices.

Getting Focused?

Taking too much Magic Damage?

Need more Damage?

Already ahead but want more?

Need life steal?
