[*] Ignite is very good. I alluded to it a few times, but Barrier has simply saved me so many times I will still default to it. Its a saving grace when you find yourself out of position, and a lot of times enemies will continue to duel when they think they've won, only for you to trigger Barrier, Dazzle at point blank, and take the kill.
[*] Oops, fixed that.
[*] I take Boots to help close on Dazzle. With ranged harass, the opposing jungler is more likey to come top for the gank as well, and I can only Dazzle one of them. Boots allow escape.
[*] I generally take Doran's Shield on every other top lane I play. However, Cloth Armors armor helps scale Gemcraft and Shatter. It allows me to pick up Ninja Tabi on my first back if I feel the need.
[*] I take Frozen Heart as it also increases my overall support in team fights, it also passively slows them more than Randuin's Omen, which I just removed from the kit completely for Spirit Visage. Iceborn Gauntlet provides, albeit smaller, AoE Slow.
[*] Yes. I initially was taking Manamune, however friends thought it would be better to scale his AP more with Archangel's Staff instead. I changed the guide, played a few games, and have reverted back to Manamune. (Speaking of, there's a lot of new info in the guide, take another look)
[*] That build compromises armor, thus Gemcraft and Shatter scaling early on. It also relies completely on Iceborn Gauntlet to gain damage. Touching back on the earlier point with Manamune (now discussed in full in the guide), the lack of AD is extremely noticable, and it hurts.
[*] I am sticking with the 4th MS Quint Fleet of Foot. The mobility on such a tank is immense.
[*] Yes, I covered his use in team fights as well. His role there is obvious.
[*] clarified.

Thanks.

I like top taric but there are a lot of things wrong with this:
  • You're a burst champ especially early game so you should be taking Ignite to supplement your burst. At level 6 you can probably nuke you're opponent if they're belong 70% health and haven't built many resistances yet.
  • Your boots start can only have 4 pots.
  • Why start boots against ranged? They can just auto you relentlessly. Should start doran's shield or cloth armor
  • Doran's shield is probably your best start in all cases
  • Iceborn gauntlet should be rushed against any AD lane because of the huge damage spike and CC, not to mention tons of armor, mana, and CDR
  • Replace Frozen Heart with Randuin's Omen in most cases. You really don't need that much mana as it no longer gives you bonus damage on-hit.
  • I think Archangel's Staff is worthless on Taric once again because of his new passive.
  • Sunfire cape is an excellent item because Taric scales off of health and armor. The passive provides a lot of damage and waveclear as well.
  • A very good item build in most circumstances would be Iceborn Gauntlet, Mercury's Treads, Sunfire Aegis, Locket of the Iron Solari, Spirit Visage, Randuin's Omen
  • Masteries should be 9/21/0 with the AD points in offense because you already have MS quints and the extra AD helps with trading early. You don't really need AP anymore since they nerfed his AP scalings.

It's important to remember that Taric should still function as a tanky support character when it comes to mid-late game. Getting some damage early is good for winning your lane, but in teamfights you essentially have the same role you would have if you played taric support.

Also pls remove or clarify "Harass with Dazzle" from your pros list....if you meant literally poke them with Dazzle whenever you can please jump off a bridge. If you meant use dazzle to lock them down so you can use your burst combo on them for harass then that is ok, just clarify it pls.
